Marginalised identities are too often conditioned to feel like they need to be MORE than they are in order to achieve that which more privileged identities are simply given.
A mental pedestal is designed to make a person feel as though they are equal... but what if the pedestal was never required in the first place? What if an individual has everything they need, including solid evidence, to be as much if not more than what is required of them at all times?
