Our conversation was going so well, I had to split this episode into two parts! If you haven’t heard the first part, jump back and listen to Part 1 of my conversation with Staci Berrey, our delightful doula. In Part 1 we talk about babies, births, and the changing birth culture in Southern California.
Staci Berrey opened Labor of Love in 2013 to support Orange County birthing families. Her goal is to help women have a better birth experience. She quickly realized that support & education were paramount in making great birth memories regardless of HOW a woman births. She has dedicated her life to changing Orange County's cultural & birth narrative so that families can have a wonderful experience. On Part 2 of this interview, Kelly and Staci discuss the misconceptions of being a doula, such as the differences between midwives and doulas, the philosophy of being a doula, and the woman’s partner’s role in childbirth. Enjoy!
