Yoni Wolf | Oral History of the Band 'Why?'

Yoni Wolf is the songwriter and frontman of Why?, one of my all time favorite bands. During the mid 2000’s, Why?, along with indie record label Anticon, burst onto the music scene with an innovative blend of hip-hop, abstract poetry, indie rock, and experimental pop. It’s a sound that still feels fresh today, more than 15 years after their debut.

In this wide ranging conversation, we discuss the origins of Why?, Yoni’s musical and literary influences, the use of drugs and psychedelics, our favorite Bob Dylan albums, and what might happen when we die.
