Martin Luther's Evening Prayer
"An Unchanging Faith for Changing Lives" describes the message of God for us in the turmoil of the 21st Century. This faith is taught at St. John's Lutheran Church of Taylor, Michigan, and other congregations of the Lutheran church-Missouri Synod. Rev. Dr. Richard Zeile, Pastor at St. John's, applies the Word of God to our everyday experiences. God's LAW always accuses, but God's GOSPEL shows where grace can be found, through Jesus Christ who died for our sin, but rose that we may have eternal life.

Mark 13: Herod, a Tortured Soul
Herod Antipas was a man in two worlds, Roman and Jewish; similarly, he heard two voices calling him, the one to honor and the other to self-indulgence. John the Baptist confronted him with his sin and Herod had him arrested, but could not keep himself from talking to the prophet in prison. Finally circumstances forced his choice with tragic consequences. Are you torn between living for self and living for God? This meditation will open your eyes. Catechism review and the hymn of Savonarola, "Jesus, Refuge of the Weary," accompany this message.
