Martin Luther's Evening Prayer
"An Unchanging Faith for Changing Lives" describes the message of God for us in the turmoil of the 21st Century. This faith is taught at St. John's Lutheran Church of Taylor, Michigan, and other congregations of the Lutheran church-Missouri Synod. Rev. Dr. Richard Zeile, Pastor at St. John's, applies the Word of God to our everyday experiences. God's LAW always accuses, but God's GOSPEL shows where grace can be found, through Jesus Christ who died for our sin, but rose that we may have eternal life.
Martin Luther's Evening Prayer
Mark 9:30-32 Afraid to Ask
Sometimes the truth is embarrassing. Sometimes the possibilities are unthinkable. Sometimes we can't accept what we've been told, so we are afraid to ask. Dr. Zeile discusses Jesus' disciples' reticence to confront the truth- that God's plan entails suffering and death. But in that confrontation, victory is promised through resurrection. But you have to die first. This meditation, fitting for the eve of Lententide is accompanied by the hymns of comfort "God Loved the World so that He Gave," and the Swedish favorite "Children of the Heavenly Father." The program concludes with the Communion rite.
