Peter spoke from Psalm 118.

Battle, costly one.

Now battle is won, and the writer is reflecting

Relevant to us as we start to emerge from lock down.

So many famous verses in one psalm.

Verses 5,8,14,22,24&29.

So much to say about each of these verses, could go into it for hours

Concentrate on v22.

The reason we may know the verse is because both Jesus and Paul use the verse.

Luke 20:17

Cornerstone

Everything comes from the corner. You don't start in the middle. Everything emanates from there.

Also a foundation to build on.

Ephesians 2:19‭-‬22

Capstone

Crowning glory.

All can see it.

Christ on the cross lifted up for all to see

Jesus last words on the cross, it is finished

The temple is finished, in us!

Cornerstone and capstone

Beginning and the end

Alpha and omega

Start and end Bible

Revelation 22:13

Revelation 1:8

You don't find alpha and omega in the old testament as that's greek, and the old testament is written in Hebrew.

Isa 44

This is what the Lord says—Israel’s King and Redeemer, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies: “I am the First and the Last; there is no other God. Who is like me?

First and last. Nature of god.

Takes Micky out of our small mindedness.

Earnings, some for good, and some for the thing we worship.

It's all yours anyway.

God says, it's all mine anyway.

This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer and Creator: “I am the Lord , who made all things. I alone stretched out the heavens. Who was with me when I made the earth?

Isaiah 44:21‭-‬22‭, ‬24

Jesus is the answer.

I alone am God, the First and the Last. It was my hand that laid the foundations of the earth, my right hand that spread out the heavens above. When I call out the stars, they all appear in order. Isaiah 48:12‭-‬13

Gen 1

V1 God is there and his spirit is hovering over the waters.

V26, let us make mankind in our own image. Our is more than 2, in the Hebrew.

Jesus was the one we were modelled on.

John 1

John 20:31

Who is Jesus to you?

In life , in lock down?

Questions for study.

I want to encourage you to go where God wants you to in study, like I did to prepare today's word.

Look at one of the passages like Ps118, Isaiah 44, or John 1, and follow the study notes in the bible, and the cross references. If a word jumps out, look at the other instances of that word in the bible, and see where God takes you and see what he says.

Go on an adventure.
