Nothing can separate us from the love of God -NOTHING! Baptisms 20th September 2020 Digby video.

Overwhelming desire to love him, pick him up and cuddle him. But twigs turn out to be pieces of poo taken from the cat litter tray. We still love him.

We all start out adorable, seemingly perfect but as we go to the cat litter tray of life, we eat what we shouldn’t eat, do what we know we shouldn’t, people put things on us that they shouldn’t and these things damage us.

Baptism

MP who chose her religion because “I’m a good person and is suits me”

I was shocked at the self righteousness and the hopelessness if you have messed up, been to the cat litter tray of life. Where can you go to find forgiveness, freedom from guilt and shame and not be defined by the mistakes we make in life.

God made a plan even from the foundation of the earth. We find it at the cross where Jesus died for all our mistakes.

We are going to look at Romans 8 v 35-39 Eternal life and salvation is available to everyone regardless of a persons identity, mistakes, heritage, race or class.

Baptism means we agree that Jesus died for the mistakes we have made in our lives, past, present and future. But we receive the unmerited favour of God through faith.

We go down into the water/ grave, die to our old self and come up from the water reborn/new born, free from our past. Free to be who God always intended you to be, this may we’ll be who you want to be too but God has a wonderful plan for your lives.

Let’s look at a scripture because we must remember that we should listen and pay attention to people who have our best intentions at heart. Don’t listen to the voices that don’t respect or love us. The bible is God speak to his children and be has our best intentions at his very heart.

Context first

Paul has explained the cross that all fall short of the perfection of God. We have all been in the cat litter tray and yet Jesus chose to die for us to bring us into a relationship with the Father in heaven.

There is no condensation for those who know Jesus.

The desire to follow our own way is changed for Gods priorities that will do us good.

Therefore he also sends the Holy Spirit to help us in our weakness.

If God is for us who can stand against us?

“Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.” ) No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 8:35-39 NLT

https://www.bible.com/116/rom.8.35-39.nlt

Jesus knows everything about us all, nothing is hidden from him and yesterday nothing can separate us from his love.

Love means that we know the person in every aspect, all good points and bad points and weigh them up, if you still want to be friends with that person or stand with that person, that is true love.

Nothing can separate us from the love of God, he has already proved his love cause he chose to die for each one of us.

We all face hardships but stand on this word of God that he will always be with you no matter what.
