Hey Beach lovers! it’s mid December here - just a few weeks before Christmas, and then we’ll be ushering in a New Year – a new decade!!
So, in the middle of all the holiday hustle, why don’t you and I take a break and talk about DEATH.
I know, I know, this sounds like a morbid subject and why would anyone want to talk about DEATH? Especially during the holidays!
Trust me, I wasn’t too sure about this myself; however, after talking with Nada Frazier, a Death Doula (yes, there is such a thing) I realized this is a conversation we need to be having - especially since this is the time of year when we’re focused on family and friends, and thinking about how we want to live our best life going forward into the New Year.
As strange as it might seem, living our best life includes talking about and preparing for. . .our death.
In this episode, Nada and I talk about:
The stigma around death and how we define it, our fears about the end of life and our reluctance to talk about it, our personal end of life stories and how to prepare for and have a conversation around end of life issues.
Nada explains what a Death Doula does - and doesn’t do - and helps re-frame the idea that preparing for our death isn’t something to be afraid of. . .
It’s one of the greatest gifts we can give our loved ones.
