Show Notes

My 52nd episode, which means I have been podcasting every week straight for 1 whole year!! Woah! I cannot believe how quickly this year has gone by. I am so grateful to you for listening and supporting me along the journey.
Today we are going to talk about the topic of Trauma Informed Eating. All types relationships can be a challenge, and some especially struggle with their relationship to food. If this is you, you may have noticed that resources on nutrition and even different types of eating like mindful eating and intuitive eating and especially mainstream diet culture don’t discuss the ways that histories of trauma can impact our experiences eating and our relationship to food, don’t address the root cause of the struggle & distress, and don’t talk about the trauma responses that can come up with our relationship to food, and weight maintenance.
This is why I have come up with the concept of Trauma Informed Eating- which includes 3 theories in psychology and nervous system health- Polyvagal Theory, Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems which all overlap and help us create a new way of navigating through the challenges that come up with eating and help to finally find healing with your relationship to food.
