There was a time before the internet when your local tackle shop would be the place where you could get the latest fishing information along with news of a new rod or line that had just come to the market.
My local tackle shop at the time was Simpsons of Turnford located just up the A10 outside of London.
The game fishing department was run by Phil Barker who I spent most Saturdays speaking with him about fishing along with topping up with some new tackle if I needed it or sometimes, even if I didn't.
