Season 13 - Episode 24: Psychosomatics of Edema
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Edema is a condition that can be caused by physical and psychological factors. Stress, anxiety, and depression can interfere with the body's normal functioning, resulting in the accumulation of fluid in tissues. In addition, chronic stress or trauma may also cause an abnormal autonomic nervous system response, which affects the proper functioning of the lymphatic system and leads to swelling known as edema. To reduce the risk of developing edema due to psychosomatic causes, it is important to practice relaxation techniques such as deep breathing or yoga along with making healthy dietary changes. Seeking professional help for any mental health issues present may also be beneficial in managing this condition.
