The Compound Commitment

The Multifamily Mindset: Finding, Financing & Managing Your First Multifamily Property w/ Peter Clark

Mike Nilson Episode 14

Episode 014: In this episode of Compound Commitment, I sit down with Peter Clark to talk about his journey from sports performance to multifamily real estate investing.

We dive into what makes multifamily different from single-family, why location matters, and how property management can make or break a deal. Peter shares practical tips on evaluating properties, understanding cap rates, and the tax advantages that come with real estate ownership. We also cover some wins and lessons learned along the way—because in this game, education and having the right team are everything.

Peter’s story is rooted right here in Spokane. He grew up in North Spokane, earned his B.A. from Whitworth and his M.A. from Gonzaga, and spent eight impactful years with Gonzaga Athletics. On top of that, he owned Deliberate Strength for five years and launched a youth sports performance facility in the Tri-Cities.

Today, Peter runs the Spokane/CDA region for Multifamily Mason, bringing together his business experience, local knowledge, and passion for helping people succeed. He’s a family man with a wife and two kids, an avid hunter, and someone who’s constantly working to master his craft—whether that’s in the gym or in real estate.
