Flow State Business
Welcome to the Flow State Business Podcast. Iām Ruby, founder and CEO of Flow State Business, and I help coaches and service providers build a business that sells every single day without launches, funnel stacks, sales calls, or the grind.
This show is all about daily sales and finding your flow state within that. I share exactly how I build evergreen, passive sales using a simple bridge model that turns small offers into a full ecosystem, so you can make sales while you sleep and grow toward your first million in flow.
I have spent 8 years in business and generated more than 4 million dollars in sales, and these days I run everything from the Gold Coast with my husband Michael and our two boys. I learned the hard way that more launches, bigger teams, and constant hustle do not buy you freedom. So I stripped it all back, built a model that actually fits my life, and now my masterminds sell out and sales come in almost every day on autopilot.
Each week you get solo episodes packed with the exact tactics behind selling daily, plus honest conversations with other founders and leaders building in flow. You will walk away ready to take aligned action and build a business that feels as good as it looks.
Press play and enjoy the binge.

I sell 40+ courses every month with no ads and no launches (here's the full funnel)
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Hey guys, so I posted a carousel on Friday night breaking down my funnel and honestly the DMs have been wild.
The part that shocked people the most? I sell 40+ courses every month with no ads and no launches. People just find them and buy.
So I'm walking you through the whole thing in this episode.
How I go from a post on Instagram to a $7 course sale to people buying again and again. The customer ladder. The Google Doc method for the mastermind. Why 72% of people actually finish my courses and come back.
The mechanics are simpler than you think, and I promise 90% of you are missing step one.
Come listen. I think this one's going to be useful

Hello guys, welcome back to a new episode. It's always so nice to hang and chill with all of you. It's a cozy Sunday. I have my bestie's dog by my side. Little Toffee is back in the podcast studio and, um, oh, it's just so nice to be able to sit down and recap the week. All right. Couple of things. So let's start this episode with a bit of a back, backstory A few months ago, I decided that I really wanted to relaunch my mastermind, and I knew that something had to switch up because I was getting bored of the way that people were launching, and I was like, "Do you know what? Absolutely fuck it." Like, I'm just gonna tell people that I'm bringing on 12 to 15 people. I'm gonna use the Google Doc and not even take them to the sales page. Anyway, that round of the mastermind sold out. I have an episode on that, you know, go back to the past episodes and have a binge. But I basically talked you guys through what went into the Google Doc. I have a whole masterclass on that as well. So I'll attach the masterclass below if you wanna go and grab that one. But that being said, you know, that was six weeks ago, and I've just decided I'm testing something. I'm going back in, and I'm bringing another 12 people through, and I wanna try the same method. So to see if you guys are still interested in buying that way, and sure enough, last week, the mastermind sold out again using the Google Doc method. So absolutely amazing. I'm tickled pink, and it's actually made me kind of wonder where the future of sales pages are going, but we'll philosophize on that another time. That's not what this episode is about, but that is context because as I announced it on Instagram Stories, there were questions. Many, many questions like, "What?" Like, "How are you doing this?" It-- "I didn't even know you were launching this, girl." Which is not a problem because I am no longer choosing to heavily launch anything high ticket using Instagram. That's not the purpose of Instagram. It's more... You know, I'll, I'll explain deeper in this episode. So I gathered all the questions, and I was like, "All right. I've got a couple of hours before I need to go out to a friend's party and have some, you know, lovely vinos by the water." And I grabbed my iPad out, which is how I usually teach. Like, it's how I teach in my courses. It's how I take my notes with my private clients. So anyone that's been coaching with me knows that I always have my trusty iPad and my Apple Pen, you know, always scribbling and always drawing and always writing. So I was like, this is the easiest way to do it because, you know, like, honestly, I think sometimes Canva is beautiful, but it can feel boring even just looking at the same fonts, the same design. And then, you know, lately, I don't know if you guys have caught onto this, like, with the algorithm and people who are like, "I can use Claude to create 30 carousels in 30 seconds." And then all the carousels look so boring. They look exactly the same, and you immediately can tell it's AI. Like it's just... Oh, anyhow. So I'm like, no, I'm just... You know what? I'll write what I've done really well And I'll explain the full cycle and the full funnel to everybody just using the diagrams I would usually draw, and I will screenshot them. Anyway, became a 12-slide carousel. You can go see it on my Instagram page. It sticks out like a sore thumb because I've literally never done this style of post before. But, you know, here we are. And mind you, it was on a Friday night. So, you know, I don't know if you believe the folklore that is when to post and how to post and all that. But I, um, typically don't find that there's a lot of engagement on a Friday night. But I wanted to get that out. It has gone so bananas. I've had so many DMs and also messages from you guys and comments asking about like how exactly this works. And in particular, there was one part of what I wrote which shocked people, and that was the fact that I sell 40 plus courses every single month. No ads, no launches. People just find them and they buy. Now, I know that might sound like a huge number. When I started this passive daily sales model back in December 2024, I would have frost at that number. Like, seriously, I would've been like, "Oh my God, like dream board number." And now I'm saying it so matter of fact, like so casual, and it's... I'm, I'm excited for that. So Also, thank you guys for bringing that to my attention without you guys even knowing you did that. But I'm so grateful that this has become a new benchmark and a new normal. On a big month where I'm doing sales on my courses or I have... You know, I'm bringing a lot of energy towards my shop page, it's easy for us to have like 80 to 100 course sales in a month. So anyway, I'll stick to the 40. And the way that I kind of think about it, like working backwards, like, oh, 40, 40 sounds pretty great and it's a good number for me to have as a baseline 'cause it's about 10 courses every single week, one to two course sales every single day. So it doesn't feel that crazy to me. And there's something that I also wanna chat about that's sort of raw and vulnerable in a second. But where I am now when I think about that number, one to two course sales a day is very doable. It sounds like something I can actually create, I can actually stick to. And lately I've been very distracted with a lot of things. I've been very distracted, especially with reading, and I'm currently reading The Iron Flame. It's the second book to the Fourth Wing series, and I'm so addicted, guys, to the Empyrean series, and I'm so in. I think I've said this before on another episode, but obsessed. So I'm on the couch and, you know, I'm reading through the book. It's fun, it's adventurous, it's hot and steamy. Oh my gosh, like if you do not wanna get turned on by a book, don't read that book. But anyhow, it was like I'm in the... And then all of a sudden my phone starts going ding ding, like two sales, and that's it. Like, that's the event, okay? Like, there's no fireworks here. I do celebrate it, but it's... I just wanted to paint that picture, like, of my usual Thursday afternoons, for example, where that's just what is normal now, and that leads to 40 sales every single month. So you know, it's just something that happens and I'm so grateful for it because the funnel that I've set up has allowed this to become the reality, and that's the bar. And I just know I can absolutely make this happen every day. I was talking to a client of mine in my mastermind about this recently, and she actually said in the... We've got a Slack group for the entire mastermind And she said something that I think a lot of you will really relate to, and she's like, "Oh my gosh, guys," and then she at-ed me, like @Ruby, "It feels crazy at the moment to even think that daily sales are possible," which in brackets, why I'm in the mastermind. "Weekly sales also feel like a bit of a stretch, but monthly sales to me, I'm fully behind now." And she went on to say, like, she believes in that and she knows that she can make that happen. And that's... You know, I think this is interesting to highlight also, because there would've been a version of her not too long ago where even monthly sales would've felt very impossible, where the idea of even having one client interested in her work would've been impossible, or at least felt like so out of reach or so crazy to her that somebody would be willing to pay her for her work. And every single one of us can relate to that. I still remember the first time that I was like, "I'm gonna tell people that I can help them find a job by making their resumes irresistible." And then when that first $50 client came through, I was shook. I, I... Actually, there was a part of me that couldn't believe that they would pay me for it. So I totally remember that feeling so much. And if I were to just kind of say quite honestly, if I think about it now, if I put an offer out And I say, "Hey, guys, like, I've got this, and I've got a lot of knowledge around this, and I've worked this out, and I wanna help you guys work it out also, but it's probably gonna take me about an hour to explain it to you, and plus a few more hours to put together the training. But if you guys wanna come along, it's 50 bucks." Even, like, that first sale or the first enrollment that comes through off the back of that, it still has that feeling to me like, "Oh my God, someone's paying me $50 to explain this to them." It's no different. I'm eight years in, it still tickles me pink. I'm still giggly about it, as you probably hear me smiling. It, you know, I think that's part of the joy of the work that we do. But back to my clients. So, you know, I feel like that's a really great example of if 40 sales feels like a lot, if daily sales feels almost impossible, that's the work. That's the belief work, that's the actual physical work. That's you posting on your socials, that's you writing emails, and that's the whole game, okay? Like, slowly moving the line of what feels possible until the thing that used to seem absurd to you is just something that happens on a Thursday afternoon whilst reading a dragon book, okay? So when I tell you that one to two courses a day is very possible, I want you to hear that in a way where I truly mean it. I'm not just saying, "Yes, go live your best life," as like a big, you know, big statement. It, it's a reframe. And the number itself isn't a thing. The thing is the structure underneath it. The thing is the flow, the customer flow, the customer ladder, the funnel, if you dare use that word, and how it shapes your entire conversation with an audience. And understanding the economics of your audience, understanding the ecosystem of how audience behavior actually works is also part of the work that you're meant to do. So yeah, and I... You know, coming back to what I said earlier, there is this really raw part to me, and I guess something that I want to share with all of you because it helps me just move it out of my system. But I was catching up with a few industry friends a couple of weeks ago. We were having a bougie lunch. It was so nice. Anyway, they were talking about all of their amazing things that they're doing. A couple of them are going overseas to speak internationally. Got another friend of mine who's just hit a massive, massive income goal and crossed over, like, 8 million in sales. I have another friend who Has just keeps getting media. Like she's in the paper, she's on TV. I was like, "Oh my gosh." They're like, "And what about you, Rubes?" And I'm like, "Yeah, I make one to two course sales a day." I'm just... I'm laughing because, not 'cause I'm embarrassed of that, but because it feels quite minuscule in comparison to what they're doing. But then I looked at their faces, and they were like, "How do you do that?" And I'm like, "What do you mean? How do you guys get on TV?" And they, they were literally just so lent in like, "One to two course sales a day, 40 course sales a month. How do you do that?" And I'm like, "What do you mean? You just post on Instagram, and it's what I teach my people, like how you set it all up." So anyway, I had this vulnerable moment. I had to give myself... Well, actually, they gave me a pep talk 'cause I sort of said to them, "It's sort of embarrassing 'cause I feel you guys have amazing things to shout out, and I'm shouting out one course sale a day." But no, like I needed that chat. It's actually not embarrassing. This is what has always worked for me. This is what I'm a master at. This is what continues to generate tens of thousands of dollars. And I know that it helps you guys so much find financial freedom and make choices that completely change your lives. And I, yeah, it's, I think maybe sometimes it's an Aussie thing or it's a cultural thing where you kind of laugh down at your work. So I need to kind of be ultra aware of that because one of my other friends who was in that luncheon, she's very German, and she's like, "I don't understand why you're talking down on, on yourself." Like she's just such a straight shooter. And I'm like, "Oh, okay, I needed to hear this." So, uh, yeah, I had to... Sometimes you just need your friends around you to give you a good talking to about that. And I'm just sharing this little tidbit with you because I know a lot of you also have your own version of this. And there's a number that you're really fucking embarrassed about when you're around people who are doing big things. And, you know, the way that you're doing things might not look glitzy and glams all the way out there in social media land, but this is my version. You've got your version. Let's just wake up to it and not talk down to it anymore. Can we make that agreement? Because I just feel like that's what's ultimately keeping us small sometimes, and we have to be impressed with ourselves as much as my friends were impressed with me making two sales a day Okay, so let me actually walk you through what is happening behind the scenes because the mechanics are simpler than you think. Please do not click away at this point 'cause you guys need to hear this part, not just the pep talk. So I'm actually gonna walk you through as much as I can on a podcast. So how it goes is I start with a post on my feed. Typically, it's a carousel, but lately I've been trying talking head videos. I've really enjoyed the talking head videos. They aren't going as strongly as carousels yet, but damned if I do, I'm gonna make you guys love my talking head videos. So I'm just going for it. I'm really going for it. I'm not very good at the B-roll, you know, reel with the, with the voiceover. It just feels like hard work for me there, but, you know, like maybe I'll get Deb to do a few more of those to see if you guys like those as well Whatever, you know, structure that I use to create a post, there's always a destination. So step one, there's always a destination. You guys, if I look at your posts, I'm gonna be generous here, half of you will not have a destination, half of you will. And why I say I'm gonna be generous is because I think 90% of you don't have a destination. So let's just go with that. Let's be ruthless. 90% of you are not asking anyone to go anywhere after your post. You're just saying, "Have a great day. Bye, guys." Or, "Yes, I hope that inspired you. Yeah. Woo! Go check out the link in my bio." No one's doing that. They're lazy. They're not clicking there. No matter how compelling your offers are, you have to deliver it to them. You have to either find a way to message them with the links they're asking for, and it's a concierge service. Like social media's changed from them self-serving to you being a concierge. Especially if you are creating a social media where you wanna make money off it, unless you're an influencer, this is the model we're going with. And when I point people towards offers, they're usually between $7 and $97. So please know that we're not asking anyone to remortgage their house, to take out a credit card to pay for a mastermind. We're asking them to make a decision that feels easy in their body. The best description that I can have for this $7 or $97 price point is, and I was saying this to my mastermind the other day, when you're going through the Sephora checkout in person and they have all the minis, all the best, Moroccan oil, Huda Beauty, Anastasia, like all the brands that you know and love, but like little minis, and they're like $17, $29, $30. Ooh, I'll take that Charlotte Tilbury. It's only $25. So it's so easy to say yes to it. That's what I mean by the destination. A lot of people miss this, and they are so focused on getting social media glamorous that they forget that, hey, like you've gotta lead people to where they actually want help and how to get that help. Now, once someone buys from me, they actually watch it. They... So your content and the courses need to also be watchable. I'm not talking about having a one-hour module and have eight of those modules. People don't have eight to 10 hours to put aside for you to answer their damn question. Give them 10 modules, and each of those modules are five minutes to 10 minutes long. They can listen to it at two times speed whilst they're vacuuming, and they are... You're answering their questions, and it's done. They can literally listen to it all in one hour. So because of that, we have a 72% completion rate inside of our courses. Seventy-two. That industry average is huge because, I don't know, I heard somewhere s- I think someone s-saw my claim, and they were like, "Whoa, like an industry average is usually about 15%," depending on who you ask, in terms of people completing courses. So yeah, the people in my world, they're not just buying and ghosting. They're actually showing up. They're doing the work. They're getting results. They're watching. Then they come back, and guess what happens? They wanna buy again. And then that cycle repeats again. As a side note, I just wanna say real quick, 'cause this is on my mind. I don't want anyone listening to this thinking that I'm sitting at my desk in a panic trying to drive a 72% completion rate on my courses I'm not desperately trying to hit any of these numbers or trying to beat industry benchmarks. I don't actually even know if benchmarks are even true. Like, who's studying this anyhow? Think about it, right? That it's going off what other big industry sources are saying, but we don't actually know that they're saying it. But anyhow, what I'm actually focused on, the only thing that I'm actually really focused on, is how I can genuinely help the person on the other side of this. Like, how one small course, one specific thing that I teach, one action that they take after watching the course, can actually make a huge difference in their life and in their business. And it can actually unblock sales, unblock money, unblock confidence. It changes everything, and that's the entire focus. All the other BS statistics that come along for the ride, things like completion rates, open rates, click-through rates, conversion percentages, they're indicators and they're great data points, but they do not get to rule your fucking life and your whole business. Like, it's a confirmation that this thing is working, but I'm not attached to any of them, okay? You do not need to attach to these numbers because I'm certain the reason why you're feeling frustrated and blocked right now is 'cause you have seen some sort of a number, and it's totally felt like something's just dampened it. The numbers are a byproduct, but it's not the goal, and we can change the byproduct by refocusing the goal. And that's why this whole thing functions the way it does. My, my whole funnel functions the way it does because when you stop chasing the metric and you start obsessing over the person, the metric takes care of itself. And actually, whilst I've got you here, this is a perfect exact point. Can I just quickly say, if you're vibing with this episode so far, if any of it is landing for you, firstly, please hit subscribe. It would be amazing for you to do that. But secondly, I have a brand new workshop. It's called Sales on Repeat, and I actually wanna walk you through the funnel that I'm describing right now in way more detail, and I can actually show you the visuals on the Zoom call and the mechanics behind each one of these steps. So, Sales on Repeat is actually going to be live, you guys. Like, I haven't done a live workshop in ages, maybe, like, a year and a half. Obviously to my mastermind, but not to just, you know, general, the general public. Mastermind people, you're coming along anyway. But you know, I, I would love for you to come along and actually experience the funnel chats. And then on the call, I'll answer your questions. We'll do Q&A and hot seat, like, on the live itself, which will be so fun. So, please go down and have a look. It's early bird pricing at the moment, so go and check out the show notes below. If you've missed it, it's still an incredible price, so link in the show notes. Come and join us. I'm so excited. All the details are below. Okay, back to the funnel cycle. The next part is where it really clicks So your clients, they see your posts, they buy a low ticket offer, they may buy more low ticket offers, and they wanna keep building with me. And that's where the cycle begins to really hum because when I see clients joining my email list as opposed to just people who are wanting to pluck freebies from my universe, and most of the people that have joined my list now, yes, my list growth has been a lot slower this year because I'm not going for 500 freebie hunters. Instead, you know, every single month I'm adding maybe like 20 new people to my list or 40 new people to my list, but all of them are buyers. So that's the difference. Um, definitely gonna be working on scaling that out a little bit more in, for the rest of this year through paid ads. But organically, maybe like 40, 50 new people to the list is really nice for me. So when I sit down with my email list, I'm actually... So I've got over 7,000 on my list now, which is crazy. It's so cool. I will send them an email And I will let them know that I'm opening up 15 spots to the mastermind, and that's when the Google Doc method comes into play. People will respond, and they'll say, "Yes, I'm really interested. Can I please look at the Google Doc?" And they read the Google Doc, and over 80% of them who read that doc convert into the mastermind. I know. Like, I know that sounds absolutely crazy, but it works because by the time someone is reading that doc, they've already been with me in some of my courses or they've read an e-book of mine or they've purchased something. So that decision for them around the trust factor is already made. It's just more of a like, is this the right fit for me or is this the right price point for me? Is this the right timing for me? And because it's so juicy and what I put inside of the Google Doc just makes sense to them now because they've already been a recent customer and they want to continue doing the deep work, it just becomes a hell yes. So that's that. Once they're inside of the mastermind within the first month, I offer them something and it's usually like a quick private session with me and they love that so much that they go into a bigger private container with me and the cycle continues. So whilst all of this is happening in the flow of, you know, from someone buying a $7 course into becoming a long-term private client, the whole thing is always active and always beginning 'cause I'm always posting at least three or four times a week onto my feed. And this is the whole amazing flow that I've been working to since December 2024. We've not missed a day with daily sales since. It has been unbelievable in terms of the quality of clients that I have been able to work with and the level of people who are coming in are so my people and even just the... I don't know, like I don't know how to describe it, the peacefulness around it, the chillness around it. Everyone gets along with each other inside the mastermind. They're all like, "Wow, these are my people." The signal is so clean and like when I have my in-persons when I host on the Gold Coast, which you guys should definitely come to, I've got another one in July, it's so wonderful 'cause everyone there is like, "I can't believe how lovely the whole group is." And I'm like, "I know. Like welcome. This is what it's like." And there is something to be said about that true alignment piece as well because you're not just getting people who are, you know, like trying to pick apart your funnel or be skeptical or, you know, be super argumentative and push back a lot. They're just people that are genuinely there wanting to learn this thing and because your signal's so clean and your trainings are so clean, the whole energy in the business feels easier. So anyway, I want to come back to my client from the mastermind, the one I told you about earlier, because she's actually the heart of the episode. The reason her story matters is because every single person listening to this right now has a version of that ceiling like Weekly sales, daily sales feels really hard. 40 sales a month feels impossible. Like, whatever your version is, there is a number, a rhythm, and a level of consistency that currently feels impossible to you. So whatever that is, is it $100,000 a month? If you're scoffing at that, $50,000 a month, if you're still scoffing at that, $5,000 a month, whatever it is, there's a line in your mind that you haven't allowed yourself to cross yet, and your job is to walk yourself across it. I know that sounds easier said than done, but it's actually not by pushing harder and muscling your way through making 30 posts in three minutes, for example, like, ugh. But it's by building something that makes that number inevitable. Like, the way I like to think about it is I know that by me spending true soul-connected time with social media, not scrolling, comparing, but when I'm creating for socials and putting a piece of content out there that's there to help people, I know that there's no way but for my business to thrive because of this. This piece of information that I'm sharing is so valuable that it's inevitable for me and the business and my message and my purpose work to become massively successful. There is no part of my existence that is failure. It's just learning, and it's noticing, and it's looking at data points, and it's being fair and reasonable about it that it becomes a normality for me to activate that level of success every single day I said that whole piece with my eyes closed, and I really felt that. And the reason I'm telling you this is because I think a lot of you are just freaking exhausted. I feel that. I actually feel that from you guys. I think you've been doing it the hard way for such a long time. And guys, like, I kind of feel emotional because I feel this collective energy of like, "Oh my gosh, thank you for seeing me," but I do. And I, I really want you to know that there is another version of you that doesn't have to dread Sunday nights or that doesn't have to dread waking up in the morning to post again or trying to muscle up the energy and the good vibes to go into a launch. I want you to know right now, and I'm gonna say this super directly, that there is another way. There really is. And my way may not fully be your way. My energetics are different to your energetics. But if there's even a tiny piece of what I'm saying here right now where you're like, "You know, I'm gonna give this a real go. I'm gonna give this a real hot shot." And if your stomach is like, ugh, like feeling like butterflies, but also, yes, like she sees me, come to the workshop, come to Sales on Repeat. I wanna walk you through this whole thing properly, and I, I want to help you guys on this call live, show up on purpose, show up with purpose. And, you know, you'll get this ongoing, and you get to watch it, and you, you'll get the full replays and all of that. But I'm gonna break it down so simply that people who have maybe done this before are gonna eye roll at how simple this is, but it has to be this way because you guys overcomplicate a lot. And I, I just... I really wanna show you the most easiest business model, ridiculously boring model I've ever put in, that's making 50K months, that's bringing me Sales on Repeat, that's signing private clients up on their own, that's filling up my masterminds, and it requires me to work three or four times a week on social media content intentionally. And then the rest of it is just me showing up to my mastermind once every two weeks and serving my private clients. So if that's what you want, even an inkling of what you want, I'd love to see you at the workshop, and that's what I wanted to say today. Go and build the version of your business that doesn't require you to be at literally breaking point every single week. I promise you that there is another way, and I wanna show you. So I love you heaps and heaps, and make sure you screenshot this if it actually really resonated with you. And I honestly am so grateful for all of you listening in. Okay. Big kisses. I'll see you in the workshop, or I'll see you in the episode next week. Bye, my loves.
