Michael J Morris: On Connection as Healing, The Politics of Witchcraft, Liberation + the Aesthetics of Ethics
Nov 07, 2019 Season 1 Episode 10
Mary Grace Allerdice + Michael J Morris

Michael J. Morris is a witch, astrologer, artist, writer, facilitator, educator, and yoga teacher. They are currently a visiting professor at Denison University where they teach in the Department of Dance, Queer Studies, Women’s and Gender Studies, and Environmental Studies. They also maintain a consultation practice called Co Witchcraft Offerings where they enter astrology and tarot within ritual, meditation, and healing practices to support people in making meaning of their lives, personal healing, and collective liberation.

This episode is dense, beautiful and waxes eloquent on the revolutionary; and I'm so excited to share it with you.

  • “Fake healing” through dance
  • Exploring pleasure activism through dance
  • Political witchcraft
  • How they came to identify as as a witch
  • How their definitions of healing + spirituality have evolved
  • Ecosexuality + embodiment
  • Yoga as a practice for liberation rather than about exercise or relaxation
