mary grace allerdice:

My name is Mary Grace and you're listening to the homebody podcast. Here we explore what it means to practice embodiment, which is practicing home inside our own selves and also within our wider body which is the earth. These spiritually and artfully minded conversations center healing, magic, astrology, intuition, art, wellness, creativity, social and environmental justice as the practices that help us witness more relationship, meaning and purpose. We are here to approach life as a conscious process. And my hope is to enliven you, encourage you to hone your intuition, connect to your own center. So together, we can cultivate more wisdom and self trust and be dynamic agents of beauty. People who are fully awake, and with our power and tact, we're here to be more intentional as we approach the creation and caretaking of life. And we are here to make room for inquiry, sensitivity, and joy. Thank you for listening. Hi, everyone, and welcome to this week's episode of The homebody Podcast. I am personally starting to feel really excited about closing down 2020 while still working, of course, to be grateful and reflective of the present moment that we're in. And I don't say that lightly. I know I've been talking a lot about gratitude in the past few solo episodes. And it's because it's something that I'm really working on and something that I think I'm not necessarily super good at. When I'm not being mindful of it. The past year is just like brought definitely some of my best and worst qualities Best and Worst habits and tendencies. And I think it's definitely doing that for society in the world at large as well that there's a lot of exposure happening and seeing things for how they really are. And I want to start this episode off by saying that I am really proud of you. I don't know all of you personally, but I interact with a lot of you in sessions in our group healing circles in our in our free community and you all blow my mind, like this year has been such a spectrum of difficulty and challenge and shadow and so much agility has been needed. And I know some folks have felt that more personally than others. Lots of people going hungry this year losing jobs this year, being denied the presence of their loved ones. And these are not things that we should take lightly. And I don't I know I don't and I know that you probably don't either. And for that I'm really proud of you. The weight of the world has felt so heavy this year. And if you're listening to this you are probably aware sensitive and Pathak person who is trying to make the world a better place while also trying to you know heal yourself, kill your communities, your lineage be as awake as possible, as free as possible and to also find joy in all of it as well. And that is brave. And that takes guts. And that takes so much vision and imagination takes so much practice and presence and not everyone is showing up that way. But I am proud of you for all of the ways that you are showing up whether it has been showing up inside showing up outside, both you are doing it and you are amazing. And your sensitivity is your gift and it is a beacon that is highly needed. So keep being you more you and for all of us may we may we find our Phoenix wings and learn to trust the process of our own rebirth and also the rebirth of the world. Didn't mean to kick it off such a serious note but on that note, we could just end the podcast right here. But I'm not going to do that because we have a lot to cover. We have a lot of big astrology coming up now through the end of the month really big fucking deals. So I was feeling very anxious about trying to get all of this into one episode. And then I realized I'm the boss. My body is telling me this is not the right move. Let's listen to my body. So I am so I'll be breaking down. today. The Eclipse and Sagittarius coming up on the 14th Saturn moving into Aquarius Jupiter moving into Aquarius and the next week I'm going to talk about the conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter and Aquarius which is the beginning of a long new paradigm I'm shifting cycle. It's also the winter solstice, and the yummy full moon in cancer that is coming up at the end of the module. I personally am very much looking forward to trying to figure out how to be near the water for that one. I will not be sharing a live channeled message today, but you can look for that in next week's episode, I feel like there was just a lot of foundation laying to do here and but I will be sharing one of my favorite poems at the end that I tend to turn to when I feel weary. And I'll be sharing it with you all. Before we jump into everything, I am trying to bring some gifts with these solo episodes this week and next week. And today, I have a tarot spread that I made for you all at the bottom of the episode in the show notes. So you can use whatever cards or decks that you prefer to lay out some questions, some cues or maps for this that this moment is holding for you. I based it mostly on the the moment of these big shifts that we have with Jupiter and Saturn moving into Aquarius conjunct in Aquarius, which is just such a big moment and a new world that is opening up. So the Tarot spread is to kind of help you look at that and think about some of those maps some of those wounds and what that can look like through the beautiful symbology and image of whatever deck that you're using. It can also be if you it can just be a transition spread for looking at 2020 moving into 21, or the present moment or whatever you want to use it for. So it's completely free. So just head down to the bottom of this episode, click on the link to get it and you can go or if you don't want to do that, you can go to mg allerdyce.com forward slash podcast forward slash 68. And the link will be there as well. But it's much easier to just scroll to the bottom of this and click it. You can also if you scroll down there, you'll find every month I make free prompts for navigating self reflection with the astrology with the transits that are coming up that month. So with some of these bigger moves, it can be helpful to think about how that's feeling and resonating in your own life. So if that feels helpful, make sure you grab those below as well also free also a gift. And this is something that I'm really excited about. I've been working really hard dreaming up ways to be in community. In 2020 2021, we already have one way that you can do that, which is we have like a free online private group that is not on Facebook, not on social media, so that we can focus more on each other and what we're working on. So that is an option that we have. And they also wanted to focus and create more ways to really build learning together or learn what is the word cooperative learning and help each other in a more ongoing way that has a little more structure and a little more focus. So that is going to be a private membership community that I'm going to open up at the end of this month, or a couple of weeks. And it's going to be called kin k i n. And I'm really, really excited about it, it feels it feels so right. And I feel so expansive and expanded whenever I think about it. It's really ain't going to be aimed towards you all people who want to use mystical intuitive tools, who are interested in building regenerative lives and relationships and economies and how those can teach each other and help each other. So we'll learn about mystical intuitive regenerative practices that can help you and each other live into the world that you're dreaming of for yourself and for your community. So we'll talk about, you know, magic, astrology, ritual, money and resources, not everything will be taught by me. Also, there will be some guests will learn from deep ecology and poetry and mystical knowledge and ritual so that you can just fully embody like the visionary that you are, and embrace and live into all of your creative potential, your personal power, liberation, and to me it's about fostering a sense of deep alignment and which I talk about a lot on the show, which is when like, you know, we're able to access our hearts blueprints and our hearts guides and intuition and really like actualize those into maps into our outer life. So it's about learning your own inner Her voice and how it becomes your outer life. And it's about cultivating like self leadership and self sovereignty. And it's not all the things you learn to do, it's just about adopting the modes that allow you to unfold into who you truly are. And a lot of the people that I talk to some of you are listening to this, you know, there are folks that they just they feel like they're constantly blazing the trail before them, right, like kind of opening up new vistas for how they want to feel, how they want to live, how they want their relationships structured, how they want to work, what kind of economy they want to live in, what kind of business they want to create, if that's the thing, which means that you're living in two worlds that don't exist. And we need you because you can see that world. And it is a highly creative path and a brave path. And it asks us to use other ways of knowing besides just reading a book about you know, what the rules are what has been done before, it's a different, it's a different book. And so we need community of people who can see that world with you and support you, and learn with you. So if you feel like you're constantly brave and blazing the trail before you and you want to keep putting tools in your toolbox to help you with that community, and people and resources, who also are on a path that has similar energy to you. This might be something that might work for you. It's sort of, I think of it as I wanted to think about when the best time to start it would be and then I was like, you know what better moment than to just build from the dismantling of 2020 that we can only do together, right. And the point of this is not to like overwhelm me with content that your nervous system like shuts down, you feel like you could never do anything never like we already have a system for that. It's called social media. This is not that. I'm interested in having time to process and create relationships and integrate work. So there will be you know, new content monthly one, a class a live q&a, some taught by me some by a guest exclusive, you know, astrology forecast the prompts tools to help you understand how the current transits apply to your specific chart. And access to a brave community of folks who are living into the same world and are interested in the same tools. So if that sounds like something that you are interested in, it's not open yet. But if you would like to know more about it, when I do officially announce it, and a little over a week from now, you can just go to the link below and just sign up to purchase, put your email in there. And then I will email just those people who said that they were interested and just wanted to know more about that. So it's not going to be open all the time. I'm just going to open it right now. And then maybe once in the middle of next year, I just think there's a lot of sacredness, and energy that we can get from a group working together alkalizing together on a similar timeline, I think it just generates a little more focus and transformation. So I'll only open it maybe once or twice throughout the year. So it'll be open through this kind of for a couple of weeks, starting at the end of December. And I'm excited if that's some something that you need something that feels in alignment for you, then I hope to see you in there where we can incubate and build and learn and have relationship in a really authentic and brave way. It's something that I'm deeply, deeply excited about. So be sure to go to the link below. Let me know that you're excited about it too. If you are, and you can look forward to hearing more about that in the coming days. Okay, all of that being said, I feel like I've already done a whole podcast episode, we haven't even gotten to the astrology. So that's okay. Let's start with this total solar eclipse happening. So this is on Monday, December 14. And on Eastern Standard Time, we have a total solar eclipse in Sagittarius happening at 11:16am. And this summer, when the nodes were changing signs and we were getting some of our first eclipses in Sagittarius and Gemini where we'll be having them for the next year or so. I made a video talking about some of the qualities of that that kind of general geography and personalities of those and so if you'd like to watch that it's a free video, you can get kind of a more broad context on these eclipses as well. There's also a link for a previous episode that me and my friend Michael did, we're talking more in depth about eclipses in general. That being said, so this eclipse is a total solar eclipse happening in Sagittarius and this basically means that it is a new moon happening on a node in Sagittarius and with new moons. We're often looking It processes of releasing and cleaning out at emptying out, starting over invisible beginnings for another cycle of meaning or vision. And because this eclipse is happening on the south node, it has sort of a double emphasis on this. This letting go this disseminating energy, the dispersing energy the clearing out. And the last solo episode I did a couple weeks ago, I was talking about the Gemini Eclipse and talked about the north node which in Vedic Astrology is like the the kind of hungry head of the dragon, the big appetite, the taking the big bites for the sake of the big bytes. And the South node that we are having an eclipse on here is the tail of the dragon. It is what is released, it's what we let go of after we have digested What are we disseminating and not keeping for ourselves. So the Sagittarius part of your chart is getting both a sort of initiation and an invisible beginning of a new cycle. And a major opportunity to clear out release, make space and let go. I've already spoken a lot of times about opinions and Michael share theirs as well on doing manifestation magic on eclipses and how I'm not a fan. So you can go back and listen to literally any episode where we're talking about eclipses For more on that. But how can you clear out and make space? Like if it's not the best moment as far as astrological magic and timing? What other things can we do? What is the time good for? And it's how can you clear out and how can you make space like actual space in your body in your schedule in your closet in your energy, the South node is satisfied when we are empty, and it's here to clean everything out. I usually clean off my altar, I put a black cloth over it and meditate for longer than I normally would take a salt bath, clean out a room or a shell for a purse like let some things go. Maybe even fast for a few hours or a day. I shared earlier this fall about how I fasted for a few days. And it was a super positive experience for me. Whatever way at whatever level you are able to meet, release an emptiness on the eclipse that would be met with very collaborative energy. I think whatever that looks like for you, whatever you feel like you're able to meet, the big shifts with Jupiter and Saturn this month are sort of like building a new house or moving into a new house. This Eclipse can sort of function as like giving away things or releasing the things that are not going to be moving into that new house with you. So we can begin a new story together with only the baggage that is appropriate and desired and desirable, as opposed to the baggage that is just like with us because it's there. And it's always been there. It's just how it is right? When whenever we're having to go through this, you know Marie Kondo process of releasing and letting go, it's, it requires us to look at ourselves and our relationship to material reality, which I think is really healthy to do. It's dancing with the empty space, I think, and creating the blank canvas so that there can be a new drawing. And it's surrendering to the contraction. The emptying out there really has been this year, right this year has had a lot of less and limitation in so many ways. And what happens when we just don't fight against it? What is in the space waiting for us to see it and be with it? Maybe it's sadness about how difficult this year has been? You know, maybe it's just as simple as like, you know, there's some clothes on my closet that I need to get rid of even these things on an energetic level, can help us be with ourselves in new ways and empty out what isn't serving us anymore. So there's an invitation here to sit, to be with, to empty to be instead of do right a lot of times in magic we're really excited about the doing part right? The manifesting part, the calling in part, the intention, Part The making shit happen, the hustle of magic, but what about the sitting in the being with in the silence and the being part. And when our being part is really strengthened? That's when the doing gets so much easier, right? So few people are willing to do that and really be in this space, which is really a space of discovery and a space of possibility. When there's stillness there's only potential everything is possible in that moment. And the ways that we interact on the internet are often like fighting an algorithm for attention yelling so that we can be heard over the din of everyone else, competing with this like mystery equation so that we can be visible and known What do we absorb and release and cleanse when you know just for a day or two, we're not willing to play that game we just take time to hold the space of silence and being so some other aspects that are happening on the same day as the eclipse that I think we will not feel separately like they're happening so close together, we have Venus sex tiling Jupiter that day. So I think that will have us you know, wanting to expand and open up to new structures while we're still in a place that feels primarily uncomfortable and difficult even. And we'll on the same day as well we'll have mercury making a trine to Mars and both of those in fire signs. So I think we'll also see you know, some of that yelling, the competitions the fighting for dominance and visibility and rightness. So, you know, what is this idea of emptying as resistance look like, or silence as resistance look like centering and clearing as resistance look like, instead of participating in the noise, but participating in yourself look like. So those are some of the things that I'm kind of holding and looking at for this eclipse personally. On Thursday, December 17, we have Saturn entering Aquarius, and that will

be at 12:

04am on Eastern Standard Time, meaning depending on where you live, it could be happening on another day because it's so close to you know when the day starts. First of all with this I want to say wow I'm recording this before obviously and that hasn't happened yet. And I can just only imagine the beginnings of what that is going to feel like Saturn in Capricorn this year. has kicked our asses right or at least it's kicked mine and you know if your natal Saturn is in Capricorn congrats you are done with your Saturn return. So which is exciting. And you know I for one, I'm just looking forward to some of this really intense Cardinal Capricorn energy disseminating a little bit. If your natal Saturn is in Aquarius, you are entering your Saturn returns or returning to your Saturn returns. So if you have a Saturn that's kind of early in Aquarius, you may have already begun yours a little bit earlier this year, when Saturn kind of dipped their toe in Aquarius for a few months. So some backstory, Saturn has been mostly in Aquarius, I'm sorry, in Capricorn since the end of 2017. And because Saturn is a slow moving planet, the shifts are more potent when they change science because it's not happening all the time. It happens rarely. So it is a transition that affects the wider worlds the larger structures the containers of our lives. And it's likely that regardless of if you are in a Saturn returns or not, the Capricorn area of your chart has been undergoing a lot of dismantling revision responsibility, redrawing boundaries and restructuring all of those, you know, Saturn rules Capricorn. So they are able to do pretty much whatever they want in that sign. And so all of these favorite Saturn words have had no problem coming to life limitation saying no boundaries, heaviness, distance, even withdrawing from others or feeling isolated. So I don't want to blame all of 2020 on Saturn because that's not true, nor is that fair. But it definitely is one ingredient of several that we have been working with that is now shifting. Saturn will now be in Aquarius until March of 2023. And we got a bit of a preview of this earlier in the year when Saturn was in Aquarius from March 21 to July 1 2020. That little window of time. So if you think back to that time of the year, you know what topics came up. This particular transition will probably feel a little less rocky than it did earlier in 2020. But we may see you know another side of some of those same themes or topics. And whereas Saturn and a cat in Capricorn is interested in the past and the way things have been done. Saturn and Aquarius is more interested in the future and the way things can be done or could be done. And in Aquarius, Saturn is kind of moving past the known bounds. So there is this discipline of innovation, the structures of thinking outside of the box, what is outside of the box. What do I have to do or practice in order to build outside of the box? What are the structures the plans? What are the accomplishments that support this innovation in this future? They're thinking about and Aquarius is an air sign and air signs tend to be more humane, which means they're more oriented towards humanity. In the world of humans, so Saturn here we can think about, you know, taking social responsibility seriously, taking philanthropy seriously, taking whole systems thinking seriously, holistic, big pictures seriously, at least I hope so. That is a version. And also saying no to things that don't support the futures that they want to build. So this definitely, you know, account point to more technocratic structures and technological innovation, I think we're definitely looking at a world of expanded digital currency. And that becoming a more common thing in the world pretty soon. And thinking about like AI and artificial intelligence, all of that, I think we're definitely going to see a lot around that pretty soon. And that is not just with Saturn being here, but also with Jupiter and some other things. But because it is still Saturn, who carries heavy things and wants us to also carry heavy things. There can be discoveries or paths forward or innovations that we find through difficulty, or through investing in challenging things now, that work towards a more long term goal. So Saturn moving into Aquarius also sets up a really big dynamic that we will have throughout a lot of 2021. Which is that Saturn is going to square you're honest, three times getting the closest and the loudest for most of February. All Yeah, most of February. So it'll be let's get the dates for that February 7, through March 2 of 2021, June 2 through 25th 2021, and December 16, through 31st 2021. And so this squaring between Saturn and Uranus, this dynamic has one energy that is upholding the status quo. And another energy that is interested in disrupting the status quo. These polar opposite archetypes create a dynamic that create that bring up revolution versus preservation. You know what structures are going which ones are coming. I don't want to sound overly positive about all of this because I think it could be positive but it could also not be you know, Saturn Uranus entanglements, they bring up these opposites, like I said, a revolution and preservation or like Liberty versus locked down resistance, radicalism and disruption against stability and authority and it can definitely have a very polarizing effect. economic recession, disruption, it is very tense between the old and the new the past and the future, the conservative and the radical or the ideas of safety and freedom. Sometimes masking as what is actually totalitarianism or the control of thinking or the control of behavior, like I'm saying that is to make this complex, right. There have been a lot of things that have happened throughout history that were saying they were in the service of liberation in the future, but they were actually structures that were about controlling and authoritarianism. So I want to complicate it a little bit as opposed to being like, fuck Saturn. Yes, Your Honor is like I don't think it's that simple. So just because something is new doesn't necessarily mean that it is good, or that it is in our favor, or life's favor the world's favor. And depending on where we were born in our own life, you know, we have biases around preferring old and new conservative or radical etc. And I think in general, we want a healthy mix of both and a knowledge of both in our working soup, right. You know, there's some old ideas that are actually kind of nice, like, civil liberty, no. And I want to remind folks that anything I'm saying that sounds like it could be like negative here, it's not to be super scary. I'm just saying it to add a sense of like, responsibility and awakeness. And again, to add complexity to these ideas, instead of like, This energy is good and always positive. And this other archetype is always bad or negative, you know? Because I don't think that that is true. And the new world gets built by what we say yes to. And this reminds us to be super conscious and super aware of what are we saying yes to, to remind us to not only look at fear and where fear is coming from and being generated, but to look at the big picture. Look at the long game. Look at what stories play out what stories could play out with what we're saying yes to who benefits from me saying yes to this who benefits from this being true, who benefits from me acting this way, who benefits from me feeling like this? Who benefits From this study who benefits from me saying yes and agreeing, and I'm not proposing that there are correct answers around that around any certain issues. But I am proposing that as a way of thinking about some decisions and choices consciously as a way of like being critical of like the structures that underpin us in a way and the structures that are proposing to underpin us What am I saying yes to who benefits from me saying yes to this as a way of thinking more holistically about a path or a decision potentially. And saying yes, leads us to talking about Jupiter and Aquarius. So on Saturday, December 19, Jupiter will move into Aquarius at about eight in the morning. And whereas Saturn has a more contractive influence Jupiter has a more expansive influence. And Jupiter has been in Capricorn since December of 2019, which means that Jupiter has been in a sign where their hands are tied behind their back. Jupiter wants to do good and help influence and make things better and create opportunity. But in Capricorn, they can't do that very well. They have to play by Saturn's kind of grumpy rules. And that's still true. When Jupiter enters Aquarius Jupiter is still in Saturn's house and still has to play by Saturn's rules. But it's a different house and they can move around a little bit more have a little more respect a little more influences few more snacks. And where Jupiter says, Yes, Saturn says no. And so we have this kind of paradoxical polar thing happening together. conjoining and it makes me think of how the universe is always expanding and contracting. There's always saying yes, is actually always saying no to something. What are we saying yes to reality is expanding contracting time is always expanding and contracting. And so Jupiter moving in here with Saturn, it could give us more benefits and more opportunity for this first year of Saturn going through here than we would otherwise have. But they're still restricted and limited, just a little less restricted than they were last year. And you know, Saturn thinking about this responsibilities and the path forward and the burdens we have to shoulder in order to make these long plans happen. You know, it's a very like, well, not everything is possible. So we got to focus and we got to make plans we got to plant like, that's all true. And Jupiter is also like, but yeah, how much is possible. So we can think of Jupiter being here for this first year as offering some, some energy that we can put towards hope and improvement and giving humanity opportunities to rebuild, essentially. And Jupiter and Aquarius is making big plans right Jupiter and Aquarius is thinking about future money and those scientific advancements for better or for worse, depending on what humanity is able to deal with. In a moral way we shall see. While Jupiter is here, they can hopefully add some optimization some opportunity and hopefully, help us see the big picture help us see the whole system, how does it work best together? What is broken? How do we make it better? and help us understand things in a way that appreciates how complex things are, how interrelated things are. And hopefully I'm saying a lot of hopefully is here because I'm These are my feelings that Saturn can provide a form that can be productive for all of Jupiter's big plans and expansive energy, that so that there's something helpful as opposed to things just kind of blowing up in ways that are you know, unsettling or caustic or kind of shatters all structure to something, you know, dystopic or in the name of futurism, so. So that was a lot. Well, I do think a lot of the new world will be community built around ideas and built with ideas. It's important to I think, remember that we're not just simply listening to people who only say what we'd like and who already think what we think and who already know what we know or already agree with all the things that we agree with, right? And I'm not saying that seek out you know, violence or people who are just being nasty, I definitely don't think that. We want to find resonance, but we don't want a cult of resonance, that kind of echo chamber idea, right? I've been really reminded, as we've been thinking, I've been thinking a lot about evolution and what this kind of next step is going to be that we'll talk about next week more when we talk about this conjunction and what it's initiating. Evolution doesn't involve evolve towards singularity or towards a common point, right. So for example, thinking of like humanity as the top of nature, you know, which is when I grew up, I was like, rub berry With a worldview that was kind of that was what was communicated to me. Everything in nature is not evolving towards humanity with humanity at this Pinnacle, you know, at the top of every other species. And if we just gave trees a little more time, they would become humans. And if we just gave dolphins a little more time, they're going to be kind of humans, like we're at the top and everything else is just moving towards that point. That's not true. That is not in service of evolution. That's not how it works. The same with ideas, the same with habits with communities, you know, the more evolved nature gets, the more if it's happening in a way that is healthy, and in a way that supports life. The more evolution that happens, the more different kinds of species there are, the more specific they get, the more special they get, the more individual they get, the more bajillions different kinds of flowers, you know, there's not even just one there's not one kind of dolphin, there are many kinds of dolphins or big cats or, you know, monkeys, there's not just like one singular thing. And it that shows us something about life. And life is oriented towards something that is complex and multifaceted and like messy, right. So for something to be life supporting, it must have this underlying foundation of diversity. destruction is what is oriented towards singularity, when there is just one right way left, then we are officially anti life. And we are on a path of destruction, and rape and pillage, etc, all the bad things where I think they're bad. And so if and when it becomes not okay to be different in any community, or family or society, they either have a different opinion or a different identity or a different understanding, or that is a destructive path. Things that do not cooperate with the celebration and the sustaining and the growth of all of the rich, gooey diversity that's literally everywhere, from the microbiome, to our gut, to the soil to species to things, we can see the things we cannot see when we cooperate with that we are cooperating with that which supports life. And the things that don't support that will self destruct because they're not plugged into the things that will sustain life. So I think, as a society, we we need to get away from this idea that we must, that we must all agree all the time to move forward. There are billions of people on the planet. It is ludicrous to think that we would all agree, right? And how that is necessary for us to create something, a structure, a network that supports life. That is actually not what is necessary. What is necessary is that we cooperate with all the multifaceted beauty and diversity that is life already. And if we've learned anything about processing our ancestral trauma or lineage and oppression, we've learned that oppression begets oppression, rape and pillage simply creates more of that coercion. Force domination simply creates more coercion force and domination, period. That is how it works. War and fighting simply generates more war and fighting period. And so what are we saying yes to? The world gets built by what we say yes to. And so if we want to be these visionary, imaginative, holistic beings, and we want those kinds of solutions, life giving solutions and paths and ways forward, then those are the things that we should say yes to that we must say yes to. Ah, I like the idea of thinking about saying, yes. There's been a lot of things that we've been told no, for this year, life has just been giving us a lot of nose. And so even when we feel contracted and limited, there are still yeses that can happen. And I would encourage you to find where some of those can happen perhaps in your stillness, perhaps in your letting go when you say no to something by releasing it and letting it go. What are you what Yes, are you making room for want to share one of my favorite poems? I seem to always come back to it when I feel exhausted. Like I said earlier, it just feels like such a lovely prayer as most poems do in some way for me. I first heard of this poem from Christian Wiman, who it used to be the poet, the editor of poetry magazine, and this particular iteration is an anthology that he put together called Joy. So all the poems are about joy. It's poetry so I promise it's not in a cheesy way at all. So, this poem is called"Canal Bank Walk" by Patrick Kavanagh. Leafy with love banks in the green waters of the canal pouring redemption for me, that I do the will of God. wallow in the habitual the banal, grow with nature again as before I grew. The bright stick trapped the breeze adding a third party to the couple kissing on an old seat, and a bird gathering materials for the nest for the word eloquently new and abandoned to its delirious beat. Oh unworn, world in rapture me in capture me in a web of fabulous grass and eternal voices by a beach feed the gaping need of my senses. Give me ad lib to prey on self consciously with overflowing speech. For this soul needs to be honored with a new dress woven from green and blue things and arguments that cannot be proven. The world gets built by what we say yes to. And I think we can only really celebrate and learn these true these life giving life perpetuating yeses, these multifaceted perspectives in community. And I think that is that will become an increasingly important not just to yell into our phones and smack them onto a scroll that someone's going to receive when they're going to bed at night, but to have actual humans that we're actually accountable with and learning with the faces that we know and who we can learn to appreciate the nuance of perspective and experience. And I want you to come back to You're doing great. And I'm really proud of you this year of surviving in circumstances that have sought to crush all life and love and evolution on absolutely every front and I'm so proud of you for still considering what it means show up to your heart, your people the things you care about your work and your rest.
