#365 - 'Mental Health' & Being SAVAGE
Forget everything you think you know about mental health awareness months. This raw, unfiltered take cuts through the noise to deliver hard truths about what real mental strength looks like.
Mental fortitude isn't built through sympathy or designated calendar dates—it's forged through daily discipline, controlled chaos, and relentless self-improvement. Drawing from military examples like Navy SEAL training, we explore why physical prowess means nothing without mental toughness, and why some of the strongest athletes fail BUD/S while seemingly average candidates succeed.
The path to genuine mental strength follows a simple but demanding formula: become 1% better every day. After 100 days, you're 100% improved. This compound effect transforms ordinary people into extraordinary ones. Physical training—boxing, jiu-jitsu, pushing your body to its limits—isn't just about building muscle; it's about developing the mental calluses that carry you through life's toughest moments.
Like Mike Tyson's fighting style, true mental resilience comes from controlled chaos rather than perfect calm. And just as airplane safety instructions direct you to secure your own oxygen mask before helping others, you must build your own strength before attempting to support those around you. The strongest among us don't seek validation or permission; they make decisions, learn from them, and keep moving forward.
Two years from now, you should be able to look back at your current self and recognize how much stronger you've become. That's not just mental health—that's the warrior mindset that separates the strong from the weak. Subscribe now to continue the journey toward becoming the savage you were meant to be.

So apparently the month of June is supposed to be men's mental health month. You know what? Mental health is a serious problem and I think it's great they actually dedicate awareness towards the crazy stuff that guys go to and go through for one whole month, subtracting the fact there's 11 more months of them. But yeah, if you're a guy out there and you have something on your chest and a burden, if you know my phone number personally and this goes for any guy out there I'll even put my phone number out publicly. If you ever feel like you need somebody to talk to, okay, just scroll down and when you see my name, keep scrolling past my name. You whiny little shit. Okay, be tough, don't worry about all this mental health crap. This is such a listen. You know it's called mental health. You got to be healthy yourself mentally. Okay, you don't need a month, you don't need a day, you don't need a week. You know what you got to do. You got to get up in the morning and you got to get after it. Okay, you got to push harder every single day, and every single day you got to be 1% better and guess what? In 100 days, you're 100% better. You're a better version of yourself when somebody is freaking out and you're in an emergency room and there's the doctor, be the doctor.
Speaker 1:Being a man, being a guy it's not about being a guy. It's about being cool-headed, calm and collective. It's about being violent when you need to be. It's about winning wars and being number one. You don't have to be a guy to be number one, and you don't have to be a guy to have great mental health or bad mental health, but you have to be a savage, okay. There's only two kinds of people in the world, and it's not guys and girls. Okay, it's strong and weak and you have a choice. Are you going to be weak or are you going to be strong? Navy SEALs okay, it's not their physical toughness that makes them tough, it's their mental strength. Okay, that's why they have stud athletes that don't pass BUDS. Okay, buds is the basic underwater demolition SEAL training. And yeah, listen, you don't have to be a Navy SEAL either, but you do have to be calm and collective.
Speaker 1:Stop trying to ask people for verification on what you should do in your life. Take your feet, look at the prints made behind you every single day and keep driving forward. Okay, make your shadow something behind you, not in front of you. Don't second-guess your decisions. Be analytical, be strong and be tough. Okay, I hate all this whiny little crap. I hate all this whiny little crap about needing support and stuff like that. You know, if there's ever an emergency situation in an airplane and you're supposed to be taking care of your like dependents or something like that, the first person you put the oxygen mask on is yourself. Why Comes back to being strong. You got to be strong. You got to be calm. You got to be collective.
Speaker 1:Okay, chaos doesn't rule anything. Mike Tyson might look like he was a chaotic fighter and he was, but it was controlled. It was controlled chaos. And if you really want to be a savage, if you really want to be a warrior, the only way to take care of other people is to take care of yourself.
Speaker 1:So, yes, mental health is important, okay, but you need to exercise your mind, and me personally, I think the best way to exercise your mind is to exercise your body. Think the best way to exercise your mind is to exercise your body. Train jujitsu, get punched in the mouth, learn boxing. You have to learn how to be a physical savage, which will start to overwhelm your body and make your mind stronger. Okay, there's no such thing as a strong mind. Without a strong body, it's not a thing. Okay, and vice versa. I don't mean strong as far as physically.
Speaker 1:Okay, you can be strong physically and weak mentally, but you have to be mentally strong first. You don't need a month, you don't need a day. Don't relegate this month of June to getting attention for yourself. Okay, use every single day to maximize you being a better savage than the day before. If, two years from now, you look back, you should be able to kick your ass. The version two years from now, compared to today, you should be losing more weight, you should be in better shape and you should always be pushing forward. That's how you destroy, that's how you win and that's how you succeed. This has been Dewell Done. Be a savage. I'm out. Peace.
