#387: AUDITIONing - For LIFE.
A national audition is about to change my life path, but the focus stays on craft, momentum, and discipline. I share why belief matters, why silence can be strategy, and how one big chance can reshape years of grind.
• choosing focus over hype
• faith and trust as creative fuel
• momentum as the missing boost
• small shows versus high-leverage shots
• drilling material and tightening technique
• setting boundaries on what to share
• documenting the journey with honesty
• preparing for March (reveal month) and staying grateful,

Auditioning for life. So recently I auditioned to be on a show. It is a national show. And honestly, uh, I think I got the part, I got the uh opportunity, and um I would love to talk about it, but um I I really I really want to um overdeliver in my next performance. Uh and if you see me in a few months, well, that that's uh great news. Um but instead of talking about it and focusing on the name of the show and the details and everything else, I just wanted to get this out that I'm really happy. Uh I'm ever more focused, more than ever before. And uh it's it's huge. This would be a monumental, life-changing opportunity to get this show. Um, and I really believe in myself, but more than anything, I really believe that all I need is just a little bump, just a little momentum in my direction. Um, there's something in the Peter Pan story where he says uh flying is simple. He says, all you need is faith and trust and a little bit of pixie dust. Now it sounds kind of silly, but in all honesty, there's a lot of truth to that because I have faith in myself and I trust in my abilities. That pixie dust, so to speak, right? It's just that little bit of extra, that little bit of momentum. And that's what I really, really need. I need this boost because um doing a thousand small shows of comedy isn't ever going to equal up into something big. Okay, but something big will. And that's that's exactly what I need. And I believe that most more than anything. And um, I can't wait to tell everyone about this. But instead of talking about what might happen, I'm focusing on what will happen. And I will be officially notified in March about this. Um, but I just had to get this out that something very big is in the works nationally. Um, and uh I'm really happy, I'm really thankful. But now more than ever, it's time to sharpen my swords, you know, my technique. I have to drill, rehearse, uh work out material. I've got to be better and sharper than ever, plain and simple. That's what I'll be doing. That's what I'll be focusing on. And aside, after this one specific podcast episode, I'm not going to be talking about it anymore. It will be going on in the background. Um, and I'll be talking about other stuff. But I had to document this because this whole podcast has always been about my journey. My journey to becoming a professional stand-up comedian, nationally recognized, and so forth and so on. And I'm a little bit of pixie dust away. So this may be shorter than most episodes. Usually they're about five to ten minutes anyway. But I'm going to head to bed early, figure this out even more, work on this more, and uh get after it, as Jocko Willing says. So with that being mentioned, I hope everybody has a beautiful day, a great night, and thank you. This has been well done. Check me out. Peace.
