Hi, I'm Whitney R. Simpson. You're listening to Exploring Peace Meditations. Welcome to season four, as we journey through Lent Together. Lent is a time of reflection and preparation. May these purposeful minutes of embodiment invite you closer to God as we journey toward Easter. So get comfortable and allow your breath, body, and spirit to connect as we explore the peace God offers us each and every day. Today's meditation is Alexio Divina style, an opportunity to listen to Scripture in a meditative way. There will be lots of silence today. So try to stay present within yourself as you listen. You could eat your breath. You could feel the floor beneath you in your seated or reclined posture. But if and when your mind wanders to another place, come back to your body. See what it offers you. Listen to these words from Colossians chapter three, verse 16. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. Teach and admonish one another in all wisdom, and with gratitude in your hearts sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God. Christ's word offers us wisdom. Wisdom that we share. And gratitude for that wisdom that stirs within us. Listen again for the wisdom that this passage may offer you. Is there a word, image, or phrase that stands out? Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. Teach and admonish one another in all wisdom. And with gratitude in your hearts, sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God. In the silence, hold any imagery or words that stand out to you from this passage. What might God be saying to you? Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. Teach and admonish one another in all wisdom, and with gratitude in your hearts, sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God. This time notice if there's a response you could offer to the Lord. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. Teach and admonish one another in all wisdom, and with gratitude in your hearts, sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God. In the silence, ponder your response to God. What has this passage invited you to notice? And how might you respond back to the Lord's invitation today? Inhalations and exhalations. Listen one more time, noticing the wisdom of this word and what it might stir within you. Resting in whatever you've noticed or seen or heard. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. Teach and admonish one another in all wisdom. And with gratitude in your hearts, sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God. I pray today that you lean upon the wisdom God offers you through not only scripture, but also inside of yourself. And that place inside of yourself that cultivates gratitude for this journey with God. Let it be stirred. Let it be stirred with song. Let it be stirred with a deep breath. Let it be stirred with your imagination. Lord, we thank you for your word. We thank you for coming to meet us on this earth and being with us on this journey. Thank you for our bodies and the gift of your body that gave life to ours. Thank you for the season of Lent. Give us wisdom for each step of the way. In your name we pray. Amen. Thanks for allowing me to be a companion on your journey. If you're longing for more, I'd invite you to join us at exploringpeace.com/slash community.
