I'm really excited that a new book will appear soon at Whitney R Simpsoncom so hopefully by now you settled in, found a posture in which you can breathe, relax your shoulders. Today's practice takes us from five minutes in silence last week to ten minutes in silence today.
Speaker 1This practice of Centering Prayer has been transformational in my own life. It's not easy. That's why we usually slowly increase the time in the quiet. Today you might notice, as we extend our quiet, that your body may invite you to pay more attention to an ache or a pain or a twitch. Welcome what you notice. Invite God to be with you, to center, to be. I'll offer us a blessing and then I'll invite you to come to your anchor word, your centered word, your intentional word. If you don't have one, you could use the word peace, shalom, grace, breath out, soften your eyes If and when your mind wanders. Return to your breath, return to your word. Savor this quiet with God, creator. God. Thank you for a fresh new morning in which we can center our hearts, our minds and our bodies in your presence. Be with us now no-transcript.
Speaker 2I'm going to take a deep breath. Thank you, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the. I'm going to take a deep breath. The. I'm going to use a brush to paint the background. I'm going to use a brush to paint the background. I'm going to use a brush to paint the background. I'm going to use a brush to paint the background. No-transcript.
Speaker 1Gently drop your chin to your chest, let your head move from side to side, reach your arms overhead for a giant morning stretch, take a full breath in and a long breath out, and with that we say Amen, until next time. May God's peace be with you.
