Hi, I'm Whitney and you're listening to Exploring Peace Meditations. Today's time invites us into a pause of presence, to feel, notice and see God with us, right here. Right now. We're going to use a simple practice, a body scan. So take a moment and find a reclined posture, if possible. If not, you can practice this seated. Just make sure you're supported and able to fully let go. And able to fully let go, allow yourself to take a full breath. On your inhale, you'll expand your belly, your chest, your entire core. On your exhale, the body deflates, the navel draws in toward the spine. Take a moment to simply connect with this full breath, expanding on the inhale, deflating on the exhale.

Body Scan Meditation Begins

Jesus offered his healing touch to many, and many more longed for Jesus' healing touch. They flocked to him, they followed him, they sought him, and so today, let us welcome the healing touch of Jesus upon our lives. Take a moment and offer a silent prayer, a silent prayer welcoming Jesus to offer you that healing that you need in this moment, in this day. It might seem big, it might seem small. Pause and ask God offer your healing touch upon me today. Allow yourself to feel seen and known by the one who gives you breath and life. Take a moment and imagine what it might look like to have Christ offer you a touch of healing today. Imagine His face, imagine His hands. Imagine His presence with you now, with you now. Now.

Gently shift your awareness to your own body in this present moment, with your eyes softly closed. Envision yourself in the space you're in right now. See yourself relaxed, rested, calm whether or not you feel that to be true. See yourself rested, present, companioned by God, with breath flowing in and out. Gently notice any sensations and acknowledge their presence without any judgment. Just notice for yourself. Start by bringing awareness to the crown of your head. Is there tightness, heaviness, lightness? Move your attention slowly to your forehead, noticing any sensations or tension in this area. Allow your forehead to relax. Soften your eyes. Notice the weight of your eyelids. Allow them to relax. Imagine God's healing presence, gently releasing and melting away any stress in your head or your forehead, in your eyes, in your nose. Notice the sensation of air passing through your nostrils as you breathe. Take a moment to appreciate this gift.

Jaw and mouth Allow these areas to soften. Release any tension or your tongue. Allow your awareness to travel to your neck and shoulders as you continue to breathe. Imagine God's healing presence flowing into your neck and shoulders, releasing any tightness, any knots as you breathe out. Envision this tension leaving your body, allowing your shoulders to fully relax.

Expressing Gratitude and Closing Prayer

Speaker 1

Move your attention down to your chest and your heart. Notice the rise and fall of your chest with each breath and fall of your chest with each breath. Soften your core, including all the miraculous organs functioning within you. With each breath, allow yourself to sense the presence of God's compassion, care and love. Now shift your attention to your arms, hands and fingers. Notice any sensations here, such as warmth or coolness. Simply be present with these sensations.

Speaker 1

Bring your awareness to your abdomen and lower back. Is there sensation or tightness in this area? With each breath, invite God's healing presence to soothe and relax these muscles, allowing any tension to melt away. Move your awareness to your hips, thighs and legs. Notice the weight of your body on the surface beneath you, feel the heaviness. Allow your legs to release any tension and surrender to gravity, as if you are being held by God. Now, finally, bring your awareness to your feet and your toes. Notice any sensation in these areas. Allow any tension or discomfort to dissolve.

Speaker 1

Now see yourself in your mind's eye.

Speaker 1

Picture your entire body in your mind relaxed, calm, grounded. See yourself as whole and healed thanks to God's touch. Envision your entire being is filled with God's healing touch, god's divine love and God's presence with you. Now Say to yourself I am grateful for this body, I am grateful for this body. I am grateful for this body. And now say to Christ thank you. Thank you for your healing touch upon me today. When you're ready, you'll slowly bring your attention back into the present moment by wiggling your fingers and your toes, allowing your body to reawaken and re-enter your daily life released, relaxed, refreshed and healed.
