Closing Prayer And Release
Updates And Where To Connect
SPEAKER_00Hi, I'm Whitney and you're listening to Exploring Peace Meditations. Today we'll pause with a purposeful breath prayer. A prayer to remind us that Jesus longs for us to experience forgiveness and grace. You can find more on this theme starting on page 72 of my latest release with God in every breath. For today, I'd like to invite you to find a posture in which you can breathe purposefully and deeply. You could practice this breath prayer while walking, sitting outside under a tree, lying in your bed at night, rocking your baby to sleep, and maybe even driving a car as long as you keep your eyes open and pay attention. The point is, breath prayer can be practiced anytime, anywhere. So as you find your posture, allow your distractions to fall away, and begin to notice your breath. Does it feel smooth? Does your breath feel deep or shallow? Does it feel easy or forced? Allow the breath to settle in a way that feels right. Unforced, rhythmic, flowing, full. Notice the entire body expanding on your next inhale. Notice your body expanding on your next inhale. Notice your body drawing in on your next exhale. As you breathe naturally, smoothly, release any tension and allow your body to simply breathe. As you rest in this breath that God has given you, ponder for a moment the powerful practice of self-forgiveness. It's so natural for us to make mistakes, to carry regrets, but forgiveness of ourself, it's a profound act of grace, self-compassion, and healing. God longs to offer this to us. On your next inhalation, inhale forgiveness. Just continue that for the next few breaths, inhaling silently forgiveness. On your next exhale, silently breathe grace. Inhale forgiveness. Exhale grace. Inhale forgiveness. Exhale grace. Repeat, offering these words, these gifts that Christ offers us. Inhaling forgiveness, exhaling grace. In the quiet, just breathe. Use the words and the gift as an anchor to stay present for the next few moments. And let yourself be covered and filled with God's forgiveness and grace. We release our mistakes, our regrets, our worries, and we open ourselves up to be filled with your grace. In your holy name we pray. Amen. Thank you for exploring the gift of God's peace with me. If you're still here and you're still listening, you might have noticed there's been a little pause in the podcast lately. Life is filled with transitions. And I've been amidst one of those lately. So thanks for returning with me. You can find me and my books at Whitneyr Simpson.com. There's more at exploringpeace.com slash community. Until next time, may God's peace be with you.
