Inviting The Word Of The Year
SPEAKER_00Hi friend. Do you have a word of the year? A lot of people choose to think of a word that they want to sort of guide the year ahead. And a lot of times people choose this at the new year. And since we're a couple weeks into the new year, I was just wanted to check in and see if you have one. You don't have to do this. It doesn't make sense for everybody's brain. It doesn't make sense for how people want to think about their year. But I just thought it might be fun for me to share some ideas with you about words of the year that people in my accountability club have chosen. So we kind of talked on our opening call, and I had everybody introduce themselves and talk about their sort of guiding lights, their the feelings that they want to feel in 2026 or their word or their theme of the year. And some people have chosen some and some hadn't. The vast majority of the people had chosen a word or two. But I just thought it would be fun for me to share with you in case you haven't chosen one, but you're feeling like maybe you want to have some kind of guiding principle. I thought it might be fun for me to give you some ideas. And then what is helpful to do after you sort of choose that word or theme or feeling of the year is when you're making decisions and when you're planning ahead to sort of run it by that word or that theme that you've chosen and to see if it aligns, to see if it feels matched up for you, because it can having that word or theme or uh feeling that you want to feel for the year, that can really help guide your decisions. So some of the words or words of the year, feeling of the year that people shared were fun, focused, clarity, peace, not people pleasing, unapologetic, growth, direction, glowy, grounded, declutter, focus, action, decisiveness, aware, awake, another clarity, connection, action, small spark, find the fun in hard, calm, connection, creativity, joy, and progress. So so many of those words are good. And there were a lot of people that were saying that, you know, other people said their words too. Um, so a lot of agreement on some of those words. Um, but I just thought it might be fun for you to kind of mold those over. You can always, let's say you do have a word of the year, but I just mentioned a word that you're like, oh, I really am resonating with that one. You can have more than one word of the year. You can have a lot of words of the year. You can have a phrase, you can have a paragraph, you can have a feeling, you can have a color, uh, you can have a theme song, you can have a taste. Anything that appeals to your senses is great. And you don't have to have any of the above. You can just kind of do your thing and go into, you know, keep on keeping on in 2026. Uh, but I personally like to have some kind of guiding theme for my year, and I usually do it um depending on how I want to feel. Um, so anyway, you're welcome for that. Let me know if you choose a word of the year or if you already have one that you are um letting guide you. I would love to hear it. All right, love you.
