Coastal Check-In

SPEAKER_00

Hello, friend. I am coming to you from the Oregon Coast again, from one of my favorite places in this country, Manzanita, Oregon. The reason why I'm here and what I'm doing and how it's going is going to be a separate episode, or maybe even more than one episode. But for now, I thought we could just do something really silly together. So I just ordered a pizza and I have to walk around a little bit until it's ready. So I'm just walking onto the sand and I passed a free little library. And so I looked in and there is a Roger's College thesaurus. And I thought it might be fun and silly and random for me to just flip through it with you and tell you what entry I see and the synonyms for that word. So as soon as I get to a place where I can like pause, it's also raining here, of course, because it's the Oregon coast. So it is really cold, really blustery, rainy, and gray. The sun, I don't even know what time sundown is. It hasn't gone down yet, but it's like you can't see the sun anywhere to be found because it is so gray. But there's a certain misty quality about it that makes it really beautiful. Okay, let's see. I'm at a place where I don't have to watch where I'm going as much. So let me flip through. Let's see if you can hear the pages. I don't know if you can over the ocean. Let's see. Just such a good sound of a paperback book, right? Okay, let me flip through. I hope I don't get like a really dud of a word. Um, but even if I do, that's okay. All right, left or right. Let's see what we're doing. Oh, we got a big one. Um, that's actually not the first one I saw. The first one I saw was Sail, S-A-I-L, Cruise, Voyage, Navigate, Traverse. Also, see navigation. Canvas, moonsail, moonraker, jib, foresail, lateen, lug, mainsail, mizzen, spanker, topsail. I've never heard a couple of those words ever in my life. Also, I literally just stepped on a jellyfish and skidded as we were speaking. And it is that time of dayslash night where they turn into each other, um, where I my vision isn't as good. And my glasses are super foggy because um it's just like so misty out. So it was actually really hard for me to read this tiny, tiny little writing in this paper thin pages of a book because I'm, you know, slipping on a jellyfish and I can't see. So uh yeah, this is what it's like to uh be my companion. Hope you love it. Love you so much. Goodbye.
