Framing The Wrap-Up
SPEAKER_00Hello, friend. Today is episode number 29 of my 30-day daily podcast experiment. And today's going to be sort of wrap-up episode part one, and then tomorrow will be a wrap-up part two. So when I am doing a goal or a project, I believe very strongly in when the project is over or when I have met the goal or when the goal deadline is over. I believe very strongly in doing some kind of evaluation analysis. Because to me, it doesn't really make sense to have goals and projects if we aren't going to take a pause when they are complete, if we're not going to take that pause to reflect and to analyze and to evaluate before moving on to the next goal. Because what's the point of doing a goal or a project if we're not learning from it and having takeaways from it to take into the future? And I also like to pause and celebrate and kind of revel in the glow of it and the success of it before moving on. This is something that I have all of my clients do. And we plan in the time ahead of time, right? So if we know that the goal is going to end, let's say on February 5th, then we know that we are going to plan some time on the 5th or 6th or 7th, or maybe all three, to pause, to reflect, to evaluate, to recover, to just have some pre-planned downtime, some pre-planned reflection time. So that's what today is going to be. And in a reflection, evaluation process, I think it's very important to start with what we did well. So I like it because it kind of primes our brain to think creatively, to think uh in ways that can solve problems when we are in a good, positive, relaxed state of mind rather than if we are kind of trash talking ourselves and beating ourselves up, it's really hard to think creatively from that kind of headspace. So to do, I think, to do a proper evaluation, we first need to get ourselves into this like kind of positive, calm state. And then from there we can think really creatively. So today's episode, the part one of the wrap up of this 30-day project, is gonna be about kind of what went well. So I like to ask myself things like, what went well? What uh what am I proud of? What did I enjoy? What gave me energy? What do I want to carry with me into the future? What do I want more of that I, you know, what did I take from this that I want more of? So um, that's what I'm gonna talk about today. So I think probably the biggest thing that went well or that I enjoyed was that I loved the spontaneity of this. I loved just having a whiff of an idea in my head that I wanted to just expand on for a couple minutes. I loved the ease with which that I uh created this project. So it was just, you know, literally have an idea in my head. Within minutes, I would pick up my phone, put the voice recorder app on, and record the episode and then upload it to my computer and then post it. As you know, I didn't do an intro or an outro. I did no edits. Um I, you know, I think once or twice maybe I re-recorded something because like uh I I really, really messed up, like in the middle, too, too big for what I was comfortable with to publish. But other than those one or two times, I just I spat out the idea as I thought about it and no edits, no redoes, nothing. So that was really enjoyable. It was really easy. Um, it was a very low lift, and it was just it added to the fun and ease of the project. I think I'm also uh proud of myself that I did it every day. There were definitely some days when I just had low energy, one or two days when I kind of forgot about it until like 10:30 or 11 at night. There was one night when I was on the solo beach trip, uh the solo work trip at the beach, where I was all snuggled up in bed. It was like maybe 11:15, and I was like, wait a minute, I didn't do a daily episode today. So um I'm really proud that I got myself out of bed and I put the episode out. And I think there was actually one day where this is crazy, but in my podcast platform, uh, I use Buzz Sprout. Somehow I clicked on an arrow that brought it to the next year. So one of the episodes I think didn't go out until the evening because I had accidentally scheduled it to go out on, I think it was like February 1st of 2027. And so later, when I was like uploading another episode, I was like, wait a minute, what is going on? Why didn't that one publish? And I saw that it wasn't supposed to publish until next year. So that was like just kind of a funny thing. But I'm very proud of myself for showing up every day, even when maybe I didn't feel like it. I'm also proud of myself for showing up even when it was really, really hard emotionally. There were some really tough moments in my life and in our country during this 30 days. And I still found ways to show up, and I still found ways to be kind of vulnerable and open and honest and real. And that's something that I take a lot of pride in is my uh authenticity and just showing up as I am. And I was really proud of that that that continued to happen during this 30 days. Um I think that's about it. But I think, you know, it's just it's been a really fun project. And I've gotten some really good feedback. Um, people left messages about, you know, certain episodes that really spoke to them, and that always feels good when I when I know that I am connecting with people out there, some of whom I've met and some I haven't. And it just feels good to have a human connection. And so that that was one more thing that was a really positive takeaway from this is just anytime we can connect with other humans and feel a little bit less alone, it's really powerful. So that is my sort of like the good wrap-up. And then tomorrow we will completely wrap up the 30-day project with maybe um what's next? What is next for this podcast, the things that maybe I didn't love uh or would want to change next time. The sort of like, where do we go from here? And what would I change? What did I not love about it? So that will be tomorrow. And I thank you in advance already for being here for these 30 days. Love you, friend.
