Bloodworks 101 is a monthly podcast produced by Bloodworks Northwest, a Seattle-based blood bank and research center. Stories are designed to inspire and educate listeners to donate time, money or blood. On Bloodworks 101 you'll meet experts who can discuss everything from the importance of transfusions to the growing importance of COVID-19 Convalescent Plasma to trypanophobia (the fear of needles). You'll meet a man who survived leukemia, with the help of 267 transfusions, a 79-year-old woman whose plasma is helping those with suffering from COVID-19 and a five-year-old boy who, thanks to blood donors he'll never know, beat stage Stage Four Neuroblastoma. Today, he's an inspiration to his parents. These are just a few of the stories you'll hear on "Bloodworks 101," hosted by Emmy Award winning storyteller John Yeager, a Senior Media Content Strategist at Bloodworks. John is joined by a team of producers including gifted storytellers Bill Harper, Helen Pitlick and Juan Cotto.
