THRIVING IN TIMES OF STRUGGLE
What does it mean to flourish when the systems we depend on are under strain?
Flourish in Times of Struggle is a new podcast series for people who want to move beyond personal resilience and grapple with the deeper structures that shape our lives. In this opening episode, Michael C. Patterson introduces the series’ focus on systems, legitimacy, and collective action—and invites listeners to think together about how healthier, more democratic forms of governance might emerge.
Earlier Flourish As You Age podcasts focused more on personal change and development to promote brain health and mental management.

In this podcast you will hear about an exciting new project called THE MINDRAMP ACADEMY that MINDRAMP has launched in partnership with Villages Oklahoma City. The Academy is our next bold step forward in the development of a comprehensive brain health initiative for the people of Oklahoma City.
You will hear from Marilyn Olsen, the Executive Director of VOKC on why she is working with us, how we have helped VOKC develop a full brain health initiative for the Oklahoma City area, and why her members wanted an ongoing, sequential course that would teach them how to keep their brains healthy and their minds sharp.
By the way, as Marilyn mentions briefly toward the end of the podcast, that VOKC received recognition from the Mather Institute as an honoree of the 22020 Promising Practices Awards. It’s a prestigious award that recognized true innovation in the service of older adults and we are quite proud to have help VOKC make it happen. VillagesOKC was recognized for the work they have done with MINDRAMP to bring Brain Health education to the Community.
This podcast is pulled from a radio interview Roger and I did with Marilyn Olsen for Robin Gunn and her Oklahoma Senior Journal show on Oklahoma’s KZLS, The Eagle, 1640 on the am dial. .
