Hello :) Thank you so much for being one of my favorite podcasts! I love listening to you, your family, and your guests on my way to work or at home feeding my baby. I have a question that I hope you can help me out with! And please know, the tone of this isn’t flippant in anyway, I’m genuinely curious and also trying my best to be a good student of the Bible, but there are things I don’t know how to interpret. Throughout the Bible we see so many examples of strong women. We know that the original word for women reflects this, and also we see Jesus treat women with utmost respect and even take direction from them when it is His will (like Mary when they’re at the wedding.) So my question is, how do we reconcile Paul’s teachings that do not mirror the same messages regarding women found elsewhere in the Bible? Specifically, things like Timothy 2:11-15 and I’m blanking on the other verse but it said something about women being quiet in church and asking their husbands to explain things at home. I really struggle with Paul’s letters. I both trust his testimony and distrust it at times, recognizing that the only true sinless person was Jesus so it's entirely possible that he said some things that may not longer apply today or should be interpreted differently by a modern audience. Thank you in advance if you are able to help! If not I know you’re super busy and still appreciate all you do for everyone :). Warm regards, Paige D.
I recently came across the coffee and Bible time podcast, because I was searching for something I could listen to in the mornings instead of the tv shows and other things I typically listen to first thing in the morning. I wanted something to strengthen y relationship with God and to bring me closer to Him. I've loved every episode so far, and every single one, I'm like "oh wow I really needed that!" I have been going to church and and have always considered myself to be a believer. But it wasn't until the last few months that I've really started diving in to His word, and really making the effort In my relationship with Him. I really enjoy your podcast and can't wait to continue to listen. Thank you, God bless
