Do you want to know how to develop an entrepreneurial mindset? Fortunately for you, there’s a wealth of entrepreneurship training at your fingertips. And much of it is free.

The problem is that a lot of people think that an entrepreneurial mindset is something you’re just born with. They look at famous entrepreneurs and think that they’re just geniuses who had some kind of genetic advantage. While it’s true that some people may be predisposed to becoming an entrepreneur, it’s primarily something that’s learned.

Keeping this in mind is important because many people are intimidated just because they think it’s innate. Removing that stumbling block is a good first step towards learning how to develop an entrepreneurial mindset.

The next question is…where do I find entrepreneurship training? What’s the best place to start?

The thing is, you need to start studying business. That means reading books, watching business videos on Youtube, or attending webinars. Even better, you can get a mentor or business coach who will work with you one-on-one to accelerate your learning.

You can also join business networking groups, or even go out and interview your favorite entrepreneurs yourself.

As you can see, there are loads of ways to get going on your entrepreneurship training. Learning how to develop an entrepreneurial mindset is not so mysterious after all. Just choose a resource and start your journey.

And remember, failing to learn is learning to fail.

(light upbeat music)- Hi, Peter Boolkah here and welcome to today's edition of "The Transition Guy." Now, today, I'd love to focus on how to develop an entrepreneurial mindset because that's a question that often comes up and many people feel perturbed and I suppose intimidated by an entrepreneurial mindset because they assume that they should have it because they see all these successful people and believe that they're born with it. Now, some are born with some genes that are more predisposed to entrepreneurism than most. However, guess what? Most of it is learned and you can learn it too. So, where's the best place to start? Well, I always say that if you wanna be an entrepreneur, then you have to be a student of business. You have to start studying business. Well, what does that mean? Well, start reading business books. I know a lot of people leave school and they absolutely hate their education system and the process they've been through and they vow never to read again. However, if you don't consume business content, number one, you're not gonna learn very quickly. And number two, the only person you're punishing is yourself. Now, a lot of my clients are dyslexic and therefore, they don't necessarily like to read books. But we're so lucky today we have audio books. So if you don't like reading, you can listen. My preference is audio books and I go through a book a week. So yeah, you gotta look books. You got YouTube. YouTube's one of the best resources out there on the planet. There's so much free business information you can get. You can even go to my YouTube channel and get over 200 free episodes on various business topics. Webinars. So many people are doing webinars right now and they're free. Why would you not be consuming webinar content and improving yourself? You got courses that you can do. I mean, there's places like Udemy where you can do some very basic business courses. Great for anybody looking to start a business or grow a business. And then you got events. There's so many business events out there. What was the last business event you went to? Book yourself on a business event. Go and learn. Go and listen to speakers. Be in the crowd of other fellow business owners that are there to learn as well. Talk, mingle, network, and I'll come onto that later. Then, you've got the other option. You can get a mentor, you can get a business coach that will be there alongside you and help accelerate your journey and help you become that stronger entrepreneur and develop that mindset that you require. You can join business networking groups and you can do something locally like a BNI. You've got your Chamber of Commerce. If you're a young entrepreneur, you've got organizations like YPO, providing that your business meets the criteria. You've got EO, Entrepreneurs' Organization. Go and join those kinds of groups where you've got fellow entrepreneurs because that's the best way to learn. Learn from your fellow peer group. Learn from their experiences, share your experiences. Join a mastermind. That's another great networking opportunity for you. Do what you can to hang out with other entrepreneurs. And then finally, this is one of my favorite strategies, apart from also reading biographies and autobiographies because you really get to understand the person behind the success. But why don't you go and interview successful business owners? I mean, buy them lunch. Listen to their story. Ask them questions. These people love to share. And actually them being asked to either be interviewed or go out for lunch is so rare because people don't think that they can do that. I know so many people that have gone out and had really great experiences. I mean, a friend of mine, he gets these people onto his podcast. How much do you think he learns from interviewing other people? A shedload. So hopefully, you can see that there is a pathway to developing that entrepreneurial mindset. And then all you need to do really is start that process. And then once you're on the journey, continue it. Now, if you love today's episode, I'd love you to share it, like it and subscribe so you don't miss any future episodes. If you've got any questions or comments, either leave them in the comment section below or head over to boolkah.com and get in touch. And most importantly, failing to learn is learning to fail. Please stay safe and see you soon.
