Welcome everyone in you may notice I'm a little a little stuffy. Today, I woke up with a raging cold, which I have not, I did get COVID. So I can't say that I haven't been sick in the last three years. But generally I pretty rare that I ever ever get sick. So I haven't had a cold and three plus years. I did have COVID in the middle there. But you know it was I battled that pretty easily. But anyhow, hang in there with me because she couldn't hear it. If I run out of voice. I'll just throw it back to you guys, you guys can finish the meeting. And you can tell me what we need to be talking about. So let's, let's dive in. Jamie, unless you got any housekeeping tasks that you want to know, just saying hi to everybody. Glad glad to see all the smiling faces. Yeah, always, always, always. And once again, you know, as we've always talked about things, please participate, play in the sandbox for this. That's what it's all about. There's no, there's no wrong answer to anything. I mean, it's all a matter of we learn by, you know, by processing information. So, today, you know, we're going to talk about this concept of clarity and why you know, it's so near and dear to us. It really is foundational to what we do is Meterpreter. You know, I'll tell you a brief story, or maybe Jamie can tell tell the story about when we came together in partnership years ago? And where clarity what that meant to you, Jamie, maybe you could just share a little bit about that. Yeah, well, it was it was really for the clients that I was working with. So when Mark came to me, he came to me as a client of my virtual assistant company. And I was helping clients to do this to you know, implement some social media strategies that I knew worked because I had done it for my own business. And so you know, Mark and I came together and we tell the story, we you know, we kind of filled in each other's like missing pieces, because what I said to mark was, I was doing this work for clients. And his question to me was, are they clear on exactly, you know, who they serve? And I felt that they were, you know, I didn't really question it, I figured they know who they serve. And really what we uncovered pretty quickly is that they're trying to serve everybody. And so they really needed some clarity around, you know, who they serve, what they offer all of that. And it's like, the foundational elements that really can't even move forward in your business until you really have those things really defined clearly. And for your own, you know, what are the goals that you want to achieve, and all of that. So, and I'm going to, you know, I'm going to go a little deeper on this. And a little more self disclosure here is part of the conversation that Jamie and I had will be very blunt is Jamie was losing clients, she would start working for people, and they were all quitting, they would work and quit and work and quit. And she was frustrated, because she said they're not getting results. And therefore they, you know, they would quit and it really boiled down to the fact that they didn't know who they were serving. And they didn't know what they were doing. So without that piece, they could be they were basically spinning their tires, you know, they were the old throwing mud against the wall kind of thing. So, you know, in a very direct way. This was costing, you know, Jamie business, it was costing your clients business. And, and we call it the missing piece. You know, the missing piece was this clarity component. So a lot of people get this lip service. When I get on a call, one of the first things I asked somebody is what do you want? And they tell me and I say, well, we need to go a little deeper and they say, well, that's BS, I know exactly what I want. And after I spent about 15 minutes with them, they typically come around to realizing that they don't have a clue what they want, because they haven't given enough thought. They haven't done the deep thinking so we're going to talk more about this and it doesn't have to be laborious. I'm gonna give you some real shortcuts, some quick things to get you on the right track so you're not getting distracted. So here's the bottom line with clarity is that if you don't know exactly, and I mean exactly where you're going, how will you know when you get there? You won't. So people think, oh, you know, I want a good example from the old days if the internet was SEO, I want SEO. There we go. Why do you want SEO? Well, I want 10s of 1000s of people visiting my website. And they get there. They get to that level, and they go, so we go, Well, what's happening? Nothing. Have you made any money? No. Have you? Have you got any clients? No, because they were focused on getting the wrong thing. They thought that for some reason getting 10,000 people look at their website was going to be this miracle. But it wasn't because they were looking for the wrong thing. They got there, but they were standing on the wrong mountain. So that's an example. So you know, may have suggested you know, that you you tune in, you know, to the next 30 minutes or so and, and I want to introduce you to some concepts that will help you gain more clarity. And by the way, part of this was from a mentor of mine, who who, you know, I have invested money and time with coaching over the years on and off over the years. I don't happen to be coaching with him right now. But Dr. Joseph regio, and he really opened my eyes to a number of things I don't mention, I'll mention a few of them when we go through this. But one of the things that he brought in, I see if I can articulate that well is you really won't know what you want until you get it. And I thought, well, that's kind of powerful. Because until you actually have it, you're not sure. And that's why it's a constant state of evolution. Everybody thinks another mentor of mine, Rich Schefren talked about the destination disease, everybody thinks, once I get there, well, there is no there. Because it's constantly changing and evolving. And this is this concept, but we need to have some clarity on on the path and where we want to go first, and where we got to go want to go second, and where we're gonna go after that. So we're going to talk about today we're going to talk about vision, you know, what do you really, really, really want at a core, we're going to talk about being the concept of being who do you need to be in order to get what you want? That's something a lot of people don't think about. and doing and doing comes from our behavior? Do you mean, what do you need to learn? What behaviors do you need to learn and master in order to get to where you want to go, of course, as always, we've got a gift for you at the end. So stick around. Hopefully, we can put this into some context for you. And also, we're going to give you a tool to help you do that. So stick around so that you can download that from us. And again, as the majority of people do, the majority of people will be seeing this after the fact so you can reach out to us and let us know where to send the gift and how we can connect with you. And once again, a huge thank you for those of you who are choosing to play with us today and and be here. So let me ask you a question. Do you often feel like your target is constantly changing? You find yourself doing work and wondering why am I even doing this? What what does it even mean? And then you start doubting what you're doing and where you're going? Type yes in the chat, if that's come up for you. And thanks again for participating with me. And you know, this is something that I hope you all say yes. Because this is life is that we you know, we're always hopefully always questioning why am I here? How did I get here? And is this what I really, really want? And then, you know, changing course. And quite often we rush into things, I'm going to end I'm going to give you some ideas around why that happens. We rush to let's call it the wrong thing. Are we headed in a direction that when we get there we go, Oh, this isn't what I really wanted. So we're going to talk about that. And we're going to talk about why it's important. So it's important because like I said at the beginning, if we don't have a vision, if we don't know exactly where we're going, then we're never going to get there. Right if we you know how many people head out on on a road trip and go. I don't know where I'm going to end up now. That could be fun, but it reminds me of a movie with Jim Carrey and I can't remember her name. Oh, she was in elf as well. And the other is a movie where they go to the airport he's I think it was his idea or maybe it was her she was kind of a free spirit. Or they go to the airport and they walk up to the ticket counter and they go where's the next plane going? And is that has a seat on it. Two seats on it. And that's what they did. They jumped on on the plane and I thought that was pretty cool. Anyhow, that's not what life is all about. When that when that be nice, but it's about having vision you know about where we want to go. Next. It's about having feedback, having clarity about what that means what we want means and you then we can determine if our actions are actually getting us closer or further away from getting there. Right. So it's that, Natalie, I think I shared you and I were talking about that story about, you know, an airplane. It's an old story that goes way back. And I know Ralph and Johnny would have heard this probably from Zig Ziglar, or Brian Tracy, your study, but the idea that when a plane takes off from New York, and it's going to LA, it's off course 98% of the time. You, Ralph, you know that you're not in you know, that story. And it's true, you know, and that's the computers and the pilot are constantly adjusting, right? So it's important to know where we're going so we can get feedback. Because where are we going to end up on that plane, we got to know that we're going to LA so that we know oh, we're a little off course, we need to get back on course, again. So that feedback loop. The other The reason it's important is resiliency, we need to know where we're going. And that we're okay with taking action, because we know that we're going to be off course. And we're going to have to adjust, and that's okay. So it's only when we're lost, right when we're wandering around in the wilderness. And we don't know where we're going that we get uncomfortable that we get fearful, really. But if we're on track, and we go, Okay, I'm off track right now, but I know how to get back on track. I know the things I need to know, because I know where I'm going. So first things first, before anything else, you need to be really clear on this, what do I really, really want from life. Now, I know I've had conversations with all of you, fortunately, on this call, you know, and I know that when when we think about that it goes to a deeper level. Very often what we want from life in terms of what we really really want, it goes beyond ourselves, we transcend ourselves, it's typically not, oh, I want money, I want a car, I want fame, it's often about contribution, if you really think about it. So for those who are in relationship we want, we want something because we really want to support our spouse or our partner. And there's something specific about that, that drives us. We may be want to care for our children, you know, we really want a great life for them. But it's about that contribution. And we need to go even further than that. Because if we get that in place, and that idea of of a secure family life, let's call it then the next step beyond that was what do I really, really want from my clients? Like, don't we all want our clients to be successful? Don't we want to see them win? And you know, and be healthy and happy and and moving forward and getting the results that they're looking for? Really critical? And then what are we contributing to the world, if you will, or our world we could call it? In other words, what legacy do we want to leave behind? Sometimes our legacy is our children, right? Sometimes it's it's being able to help our children learn from our mistakes, and also to help them not make certain mistakes or achieve certain goals. So that so that we can leave that legacy behind. Sometimes it's bigger than that. Sometimes it's it's something that really is quite large and sorry, but my phone here ringing, if I get silenced. Here, sorry about that. So this idea of contribution, I really want to hit home on that. Obviously I have and let you know that because only when you do that, then can you move forward and making it happen, which is designing a business that works. Now, before we even consider business design, though. And this is I think a big gap, a big mistake that a lot of people make is they say I know what I want. Now I want the business that I'm going to design a business that's going to achieve that, or I have an idea around that. But there's a pause in there, there's there's a moment where we have to stop and think. And this is what we need to think about. Who do I need to be in order to have that actually becoming that person? So who do you need to be in order to have what you want? Who do you need to be in order for getting that to be inevitable? So think about I mean, what comes to mind to me, not that I'm like the man as a person, but I think of Elon Musk, who did he need to be in order to make that rocket ship that was going to take off and land again on earth? He had to be somebody different. He had to develop certain behaviors around that in order to make that a reality. So who do I need to be in order to have that really important question? Who do I need to be in order for that to be inevitable? Because it's only through changing your behavior, and your behavior is the doing component. I don't get a little had to hear. It's only through that, that you can become the person you need to be in order to get what you really, really want. Think about this. This is attributed to Einstein. And there's lots of debate as to whether it's true or not. And I know there's a phrase, it's not this exact phrase, but the idea that Einstein said, but the he, I think he said something around, problems can't be solved by the same level of consciousness that created it, therefore, we have to raise our level of consciousness. Obviously, we need to be educated and get new, change our consciousness in order to solve a problem. But a lot of people paraphrase like this, doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. So to do what needs to be done, so we can have what we really want, we kind of need to re engineer or reverse engineer our behavior. Because it's in the doing. It's in the doing our behavior. And by the way, I want to pause here and don't make the mistake of just doing being busy is the solution. And we need to think first, we need to have that destination really clearly mapped out and know exactly where we want to go before we can start to get into the doing. But it's in the doing, it's in our behavior. And our behavior is what we do. And if we keep doing the same things we've always been doing, we're going to continue to be who we've always been. And we will continue to get the same results. So unlike Einstein, and others, it's not rocket science. You know, and what we find in Jamie and I come across this all the time, and we've talked to well, you know what, Jamie, probably, we could now probably say over 1000 people, it's 1000s of people potentially. And we find that there are kind of three types of people. And we can now we're now pretty good at identifying who will make it, we're not always good, we will, it's lovely to get surprises. But we know that there's one type that will make it and that 80% 90% of the people that we talked to well, and here are the types of people don't talk to them in terms of I'll talk to you. But in terms of students, in terms of students, they think they tend to show up, you guys are an example they show up, they take notes. And more importantly, not only do they take notes and thoughts, but they take action they do. So they actually take what what they're learning and they take action on it, they try it out, they test it. And they don't worry about it. Like a lot of people who get caught up in the well I'll do it when I have this in place, not going to make it. So they err on action versus worrying about whether it's going to work or not. So in a previous webinar, we talked about this, this idea of instead of thinking about it, and then doing it, reverse those to do it, then think about it. Now Natalie, and I talked about this, I think the other day, it's about being you know, learning to be spontaneous, like learning to act quickly, and then think about it afterwards and go, Okay, did it work? What worked? What didn't? Did it get me closer to my goal? Now, obviously, the action has to be you know, let's take the airplane, you know, pilots not going to go oh, I'm heading to LA, let's, let's go ahead and head to Boston, you know, you're not going to start readjusting the plane to go in that direction. So you need to know where you're going. And then you're gonna go well, I think if I do this, and this, then maybe I'll be more on track to get to La Well, maybe he overshoots it right, maybe the plane then starts to go to towards Seattle, and then he brings it back again. So you, you need to know where you're going. So that action you take is a guess it's I think this might just you know, this is an idea of like, boom, I'm going to try it. Now I'm going to think about it, did it get me closer to or farther away. And then we just again, we just again, the second type of person agrees with principles and ideas. Like what we're talking about today, but they delay the delay taking action, they procrastinate. Usually fear comes up here. And even if they don't recognize it, and they wait until they're ready. So think Well, well, I'll be ready. Once I have enough time. Once I have enough energy once I'm feeling better, once I have enough money, then I'll do the thing I need to do in order to get to where I want to go. And they stay stuck there forever. And then there's a third type of person which is really quite obvious. And that's they disagree with everything. They basically say yeah, yeah, but Right, I'm different. This doesn't apply to me. I know what worked for Elon Musk. I know what worked for these other guys. But no, that doesn't apply to me wouldn't work for me. So they continue to behave the same way. They're so vested in who they're being and being right, that they never get to where they want to go. They continue to get the same outcomes. And they and for some reason, I don't know, they can't understand why that's the case. So, with that little preamble, that little idea, if it's in the doing in our behavior, we need to kind of look at this and say, what's holding us back? What, and I want to start kind of from the simple to the specific or the general to the specific. So one of the things we want to look at is kind of how our world is working, what's happening in terms of our physical energy, right? So there's kind of three components to that. Our movement? Are we moving to our intake? What are we putting in our bodies from a nutrition standpoint? And then rest and recovery? Are we getting proper sleep? Are we taking time off? are we burning the candle at both ends? These are three critical components that you want to think about. And you want to kind of look at your own life, I'm gonna leave this up to you, you want to say what does my life look like right now in that regard? And who the person I want to be that would be getting the things I want to get? How would they be behaving in this area in these areas. Because I'll tell you getting what you want is going to take energy, it's going to take alertness, you can't sleep in and wake up hungover. You got to be able to take care of yourself, and you have to take care of that physical body. And, you know, Jamie, if you don't mind me sharing a quick story. You know, Jamie had a health crisis a while back, and it was a real wake up call for her. Jamie's a diabetic by the way. And this really put her on the path of, you know, the programming was, and a lot of people are like this, I hate exercise. So remove the word exercise and just put the word movement taking care of your body. So now Jamie walks every day. You know, she's she's feeding her body, the movement that it needs. And it's amazing, isn't it, Jamie? Like, you know, what you notice when that when you start doing that habitually? Yes. And I want to just pop in here with like, the four B's that I'm that I'm presently present to brain, which, right, you're feeding your brain. So then biology, then balance and business. So those are the four B's and I try to put those into play. Even when I'm doing my hate exercise, walking. I listened to some podcasts about business, right. So I'm feeding the brain, I'm doing the biology, get finding the balance, and I'm working on business. So those four B's are really helpful. I love it. And it can really, it's amazing when you permit. When you do that, like when you combine like cardiovascular movement, for example, with listening to having your butts and listening to a podcast, or for me, I do it on a machine. So I'm able to read, you're, you know, you're firing on all cylinders, you know, the bloods flowing, your heart rates up your brain is actually at optimum power and function. So the ideas are just, you know, flying like crazy. I know, you know, I can't wait to get back to my office and dive into my journal after a workout because I've gotten so many ideas from it. So this is really important. So think about write this category down and think about where am I now. And in order to be the kind of person I want to be in order to get the outcomes I want to get what do I need to do differently? Maybe you need more sleep, maybe you need less? Maybe Maybe you need to be taking some time off. You know, have you ever had that? I know I had a teacher not very long ago, a few months ago, and we were working on some stuff and I was just really working hard on I couldn't get a break through. And he said okay, here's the game plan. This is what's gonna get break through to turn off your computer and don't come back until Monday. This was on a Friday I think said that's, that's your order. You're working. That's how you're gonna get the breakthrough. It was great. It was brilliant. It was a slap that I needed to step away. You know, and this is why we talk about sleeping on things, putting things to the side letting your subconscious work on things. The next area Jamie just kind of brought up too is mental. But I want to talk more specifically, excuse me, is, you know, what do you what are you doing in terms of feeding your brain? Oh, sorry, I should have muted for that. I was kind of rude. I apologize. But what are you reading? What are you putting into your brain? You know, are you reading tabloids from the supermarket? You know what, how are you feeding your brain? What are you watching? Are you watching? I'm not gonna call anybody out on this but you're watching you know, the Desperate Housewives series and things like that not Desperate Housewives but the what do they call it? The Real Housewives the wives of Yeah, housewives, Real Housewives. You know, like, what are you putting in your brain and these are opportunities to shift that out. The beauty of the internet and YouTube and Netflix in everything else is we have a tremendous library available to us now. So I would encourage you to start to shift out and start to watch. Documentaries start to watch biographies about powerful people, that are somebody that you can emulate that you can say that I want, what they have, study their behavior. What did they do? I'm not talking about Bernie Madoff, by the way here. I just watched the Richard Branson on HBO, which is I'm still in the middle of it, actually. But it's very good. I'm gonna look for that one. Look, I Yeah. Richard Branson is, as you know, and I think I've talked about him before, I don't know if you know the story about him. When he decided to start virgin air. He had Virgin Records, which was making a ton of money, doing really well for him. And he started virgin air and it was losing money hand over fist. He sold Virgin Records to raise a billion dollars to put it into I think it was a billion into saving virgin air. Talk about guts. Right? Would you be willing to do that? Would you be willing to cash in all your chips, the sure thing that's working in order to make your vision come true in the next plane? powerful stories, powerful example of somebody to emulate. So what are you watching? What are you putting in your brain and maybe you need to turn it off to maybe you need to stop watching so much. And start thinking about things that you can put in what are you listening to? You know, what, what? What kind of music? Are you listening to? What kind of words are you listening to? Are you tuning into podcasts? Are you even listening to music that uplifts you and is healthy for you? There's a lot of crap out there that's being you know, bombarded that we're being bombarded with what are we listening to? Are you listening to the news? How about getting Sirius FM or something like that in your car? Instead of listening to the news? How about not watching the news? It's just there to make you feel awful anyways? Social, another big one? who support you? Who do you want to? Who do you want to hang around with more when we need to think about family, friends and public. And there are ways to do this too. Like, for example, and I'll use family as an example. If if somebody in your family could be an aunt and uncle, it could be somebody much closer to you. If they don't understand your vision and what you're doing and where you're going. It's okay not to talk about it. It's okay not to bring it up, to let it be something that that's a project of yours and the same as they have the right to have their own projects and their own goals and their own things that they work towards. So look for those people who are going to support you, ask you questions, understand and provide constructive feedback. The same with friends. You know that story about what your your I think it's an old story about some of your income will match that of the average of your 10 closest friends who you hanging out with? Are you hanging out with naysayers? Are you hanging out with excuse expression, losers? You know, are you hanging out with people that will uplift you? Or are you hanging out with people where you're always above them? That they're always looking up to you? Are you afraid to actually hang out with people where you're looking up to them? That you can learn from them? Find those people wiggle your way into their life? Get something going on there? And the public what's happening? Generally, socially, what spaces do we hang out? Where do we get exposed to people? Are we hanging out in places where people are very much into what we might call self image and comparison and it's all about the look, you know, the the host wives of look, you know, and stuff and it's all about the external? Or are we hanging out with people in in places where people are somebody that we can look up to or that we can appreciate. So these are some things to think about. And to look at where you are now, benchmark where you are now and where you want to be and start to make those subtle shifts those changes. So here are a few behavior traits that I want to suggest you want to develop your own, by the way, look at role models, and develop your own but these are some that I believe are fairly common amongst people who you know who are creating powerful lives if you will. Physical Fitness they have energy you know, they're they're not the type of people that say Ah, now not today or you know, I don't you know, I don't feel like it or I'm you know, I'm baked or whatever they're, they have energy so they they're taking care of their bodies. I med stands for internally motivated, externally driven That's when you want to kind of think about. Because this comes to this back to this idea of comparison. If we're externally motivated, it means we're comparing ourselves to others. And that's not a healthy place to be. Me, it's all I'm no good, I'm not worthy, unless I have this unless I have the bigger car, unless I have less I live in the right neighborhood unless I have the right amount of money or whatever it happens to be. So being internally motivated means you have that vision you have that drive, and doesn't matter what anybody else says. You're sticking to it. That's where your motivation is coming from. And then you're externally driven, meaning your course correcting to get there. Right, you're out there in the world, you're not sitting in isolation in your office, thinking how great you are, you're actually out there making mistakes, trying things doing doing doing immune to criticism, really important. If you're going to be an entrepreneur, and you're going to be in business, you got to have thick skin and you got to be willing to what's that expression, water off a duck's back. If people don't get it, they don't get it, you let it go. I know Ralph and Johnny particularly would really, really appreciate that because these guys are sales masters, they, they know what it's like to take rejection, they know what it's like to step out there and they know how to teach it to, and how to how to realize that, hey, I'm focused on a goal here, and I'm not gonna let somebody you know, take that away from me or push me away from it. Accurate thinking, aware of and continuously correcting for false beliefs, and they're constantly we talked about a couple of weeks ago, William James, I think it's the author and and the idea of, oh, now I've forgotten it completely. It's, it's back there in the bookshelf somewhere. But the idea that the brain and our whole attitude and everything is like a garden, and then if we're not constantly nurturing it and working on it, then weeds will come in. So we need to always be aware that we're being bombarded, particularly with the internet and all the media that we're exposed to now is that there's a lot of stuff that causes us to develop false beliefs and also inaccurate thinking. So we want to be aware of that and always course correcting for that. Confident in skills and abilities. You gotta have some confidence in who you are and what you're doing and what you're all about. A bias to action we talked about that you learn by doing do then think, courageous, take risks, ask for help. course correct. Again, it all comes back to that but this idea of being courageous is really really important not to be a follower but to be a leader, an unshakable belief in yourself in your desire to serve others and in the industry that you're in meaning in our case, we're talking about coaching and helping others in that industry conviction of whatever it takes attitude I've got here James Bond I love this this was a guy and again forgive me this cold is blocking my thinking a little bit zinc. Dr. J's think really funny brilliant teacher who talked about I think he's still around parenting skills and also healthy marriages. But he tells a great story about I am this affirmation I am the James Bond of parenting is what he's talking about. But think about that I am the James Bond or whatever you're doing so think about James Bond, you know, he's the world is falling, you know, around him, there's bombs exploding. And what's he doing? You know, he's hanging under the rope of the helicopter with a beautiful woman at his arm smooth this can be not even a bead of sweat on his brow, you know, as the sales off so are you that cool, you know, calm collected person who's just going forward and getting what's done. And I love James Bond is a great, great example. I think a great one to emulate. Think about that. Sorry, my button here. Determined Determination. Getting back in the ring, so you're gonna get knocked down, you're gonna get knocked down nine times out of 10. Are you willing to get up the 10th time? Are you willing to do what it takes? Are you willing to get back in the ring again, genuine interest in and care for your customer and client, transcending your own needs and wants to care for somebody else is really, really important. If you're just in it to make a buck gonna have challenges, big challenges, it's going to catch up with you sooner or later. And we can see lots of role models for that. Bernie Madoff being one if you haven't watched the documentary, by the way on that flicks, it's brilliant, made off it's called focused ability to say no to distractions. So this idea of being focused again, you're internally motivated, you've got your vision, you know what you want, and you're not gonna get distracted by shiny objects. You're not gonna go there's something new. I'm going to pull that in. No, you're going to stay focused on what you're doing. Being a money manager this is really important. If you're in business and you're going to be successful, you better know how to manage management. money. And one of the things about managing money is think about this. If you go to a bank, think about a savings account, what does the savings account give you? In terms of ROI? Pretty much the lowest you can get besides an operating account, right? So this idea of saving, is never going to grow a business. So a money manager is somebody that's always looking at their resources as an opportunity to invest for greater ROI. So what are you gonna do with your capital? Are you going to raising capital, so we call it capital, instead of money, because now capital is what? It's an asset. And we take that asset, and we make it bigger by learning how to invest appropriately with it. And one of the other things is realizing that money, clients business is something that is fluid, you could always get more of it, it comes and goes. But what's the one thing we can never get more of time. And I didn't put that on here, but I could very easily is people who are really looking at growth and doing things value their time more than anything else. Because they know they can't get any more of it. And particularly, as as we get older, and I'll put myself in that category, I'm going to be 60 in April, by the way, is, as the clock starts ticking, we value time more and more, because we know we've got less of it. So time with their family time with their children time to do the things. So I'm not going to say Oh, I could DIY this, and it'll take me 30 years to get this outcome. I don't have that time anymore. So I'm more than happy to pay for that to invest my capital wisely, incorrectly right now, so that I can save those 30 years and get done in six months, what would take me 30 years to do by myself. Really, really important they value time. And last thing I think I've got on here last couple of things, systems and automation of routine tasks. So anything that you that they do repetitively, instead of thinking, Oh, well, this is kind of easy, I can do it, hey, we call a gym and I call it the $9 an hour tasks. hire somebody to do it because your brain and your value is much higher than that. So you always want to be thinking about how can I take things that are routine that are tasks that I don't need to be doing and get somebody else to do them. And nowadays with the internet, and with computers, we have amazing tools that are at our disposal, where we can actually automate things and create systems to get things done. Lastly, being fast and decisive, that kind of comes back to the doing and thinking, learning to make decisions quickly. Deciding right away. Don't say I think I'll wait this from your memory never say I'll think about it again. Say yes or no. Both are equally valid. It's okay to say no, somebody's pitching you on an idea. Or again, that distraction idea and staying focused. You see something online comes across your screen, you're being constantly bombarded with ads and things that are great. It's very easy to develop the habit of following those paths develop the opposite habit saying no, I don't need that right now. No, I don't need that I've got enough on my plate, enough things that I need to continue to explore and to develop and to do without adding more. Less is more. So being fast and decisive taking actions and then committing. So you know, ask yourself, what do I need to do to replace the my current behaviors with behaviors like this and what other behaviors come to you because there are lots of them. In our 90 days, we have a whole program of entrepreneurial traits that we talked about, about adopting and looking at and in in also measuring and seeing where you're at in terms of developing those skills and they'll come and go at places in your life. So the very first step on this path is to commit to do what it takes doing what it takes to change your behavior and become the person who makes getting what you want inevitable. We've talked a lot about that we've talked about behaviors, study some other tips here study great people study people you want to emulate find a role model dead or alive. You say that I want to be that person. I know if any of you know Frank Kern Frank Kern emulates his whole thing is Atlas you know the Greek mythological character Atlas because he wants to carry the burden and he knows if he's strong enough and big enough that he can he can carry that burden of helping his clients and his family and doing what he needs to do so that's that's who he emulates. So think about that. Can you find somebody historically or in your own life, it might even be somebody that you know, right now that you really want to emulate and say, you know, I want to develop more behaviors like them, study their behaviors, and start to work towards adopting those One of my favorite quotes here and then commit to doing it. Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back always ineffectiveness concerning all acts of initiative and creation. There is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans, that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves to a whole stream of events, issues from the decision raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents, meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his way. I learned a deep respect for one of Gupta's couplets. Whatever you can do, or dream, you can begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. And that was written by wh Murray, who was the first person to scale Mount Everest. And he wrote that in his journal or in a book on the Himalayan expedition in 1951, when he was on the course to do that. So powerful, powerful concept commit, and watch what happens. Let's put this into context for you. So this is that idea of clarity. It's the foundation of all business. So we need to have clarity in the beginning in order to build the skills and the tools. And it makes things a lot easier. By the way, when you have clarity. And I'll give me an example of this. When we have clarity on who we want to serve, than we know where they're hanging out. So we don't need to be everywhere. We come across this a lot. GMAC COMM A lot of where people are totally overwhelmed and panic, because they're trying to be on the latest and greatest social media fad that's out there. Because they're not clear on who they're serving. If they were clear on who they're serving, they know, oh, I don't need to be on tick tock, my audience doesn't even hang out there. I need to be over here on Facebook, or I need to be on LinkedIn or I need to be here because that's where my peeps are hanging out. So there's an example of clarity and why it's so important to get clear on these things in order to move forward and build a business that works. So I'm obviously dominated as I always do the conversation here. Didn't have a lot of questions in this one. But let me ask you this question. What are your takeaways from today's topic? You know, we've covered a lot of concepts I know with my stuffy nose and head here, but if we just take a few moments and talk about this and let Give me your highlights, you can go ahead and unmute chat or open your mic and share anything with us. Go ahead. Yeah, like the I M E. D? I've never heard that before. And yeah, that looks. That's a good thought there. Thank you that I'll give credit where credit is due that. So that was a Joseph regio. Comment. I learned that from Joseph, so internally motivated, externally driven. Ralph, can I read what you put in the chat to you said, if I may? Sure. He said, It's in comment to one of your list of winning strategies. He said, That's a big one. And it was on the focus. He said, getting and staying focused. Yes, it one. Yeah. And harder and harder these days. Because like this is one of those ideas of the James Allen thing with the weeds growing is that we're so pumped hard with distractions. It really does take discipline to be focused. And I think that first part about the physical, mental, emotional thing is that the beginning of our day is the time to do that. I know Johnny and I've talked about I think you and I have as well Ralph about this, Johnny the Hour of Power, right? Or the power hour or whatever we call that thing. And that idea of that's where we get our focus from is not starting the day. reactively but starting the day in quiet meditation or prayer, whatever works for you in journaling, and reading taking that time. And if you don't have the time, get up earlier. And make the time right, just that, that an hour is really a good idea. You know, don't don't rush it. Give yourself that invest in yourself. It's interesting that you should bring that up just yesterday, I went on to my online calendar, and I blocked out from nine to noon every day. Awesome. That's what I want to do my income producing activities. I want to do my, my dreaming my my planning just, that's my time I shut the doors, my office. And my wife knows that when the door is shot, just come back later. And it's it's my time for my business and for my mind. So yeah, I love it. I'm a big believer in that. Yeah. And you know, one of the things I first kind of got this idea from Tim Ferriss with the four hour workweek. And then Frank Kern hits home on this a lot, too, is minimize screen time. And don't check emails or do anything until you've already accomplished like something big, rich off, and he's talking about this, like, take your biggest project and work on that first thing for an hour. Before you allow yourself to check emails or messages or anything, don't go on social media or anything. And that you know, that idea ralpha blocking that time. And it's hard, like when you start doing it, because it's an addiction, you know, that if you watch any of that stuff, you know, some of the the documentaries that have been out there about how, you know, Facebook, and everything else is really programmed us to that day, and that chat and everything was turning off notifications and just giving yourself permission to say it can wait because this is more important. So I love that time blocking is so critical. It is and that's the beauty of being an entrepreneur is that you get to say, I did the same thing. Ralph when I started my my walking expedition every day, I used to have my calendar be open from nine until you know, five. And now I don't let anybody book with me before 10 I want the time to not only walk I want to have my breakfast, I'm diabetic, gotta eat and have a shower and you know, make myself look human. And then 10 o'clock, I feel like that's a reasonable time to meet with people. So I love the time block. I love that we get to say nobody has nobody tells me you've got to be available at 9am No, I don't. I make my day and I get to take time off when I want and you know, whatever. Personal Love it. Love it. Any anybody else? Any other comments? Yeah, Mark, um, a few months ago, I've turned off my notifications for email on my phone in my computer. There you go. Yay. It would Dean and I look up and get distracted. Yeah. You know that Pavlov's dog? I don't know. Everybody know Pavlov's dog. The psychological when they train dogs make salivate at the at the ringing of a bell. And that's that's what you know, these dings are right, we're cuts into the brain. And immediately it's an interruption that we, you know, we kind of get this little flash this little endorphin rush that Oh, somebody's left me a message. So yeah, turn off those notifications. I think it was the book that y'all gave me. The one thing talks about how much time it takes to get back into what you were doing, which blew my mind. Yes, yeah. Yeah. Natalie, you were gonna make a comment? Yeah, I was just thinking, since I've met with both of you really recently. For me, it was once you sort of get clear on what it is that you're trying to do, it almost seems like the things in the background kind of fall away, or like the things that aren't actually really that important, there are no distractions, because you're not even thinking about the energy and the time that it takes to worry about those things doesn't happen anymore. Because you're like, No, this is what I need to do. And this is how I'm gonna get there. And it's funny how much time you really have, when you really aren't clear on what you're doing and how much is not working. Because I just like, there was so much time I was finding like a half hour here. Like I have a you guys know, like a three year old. So my time can be disrupted very quickly and easily when I have to work from home. And so coming back to that task is very difficult. But having that clarity of my day, okay, I have in order to do this, or here's a half hour that I have, I'm going to use that half hour, because I know I may not get another half hour today, if whatever happens, right? So it gets really interesting, like, since I'll talk about, like, and this sort of marries into that is when you're clear when that clarity is there. It's the time shows up the energy shows up. The the distraction kind of goes away. Yes, I think that that's really important. For sure once you're clear. Excellent. Yeah. And it's that idea of commitment. Like once we're committed to really wanting something then yeah, I remember this is kind of not really pre internet days. But I remember my son years ago when he was in school was stressed out, they didn't have any time and had these sheets of paper and a file. And they were they had the time from basically kind of from like getting up till bedtime. I think, you know, I think it wasn't 24 hours, but I think it was like from 6am till 10pm or something. And it was Monday through Friday with with our blocks and we just sat down I said Well, let's map out your week. Let's let's start to block out you know what you want Do and when we mapped it all out, we had all these blocks set out. And he looked at it, it was just like this total relief, because he saw how many gaps there were how much time he really had. And that's that idea of being proactive instead of reactive, instead of saying, well, I'll find time I'll fit it in when I can. Instead, it's an interval, this is for me, right? This is, this is my time to do this, this is my time to do this, this is my time. And we can all do that no matter how crazy our lives are, we can time block. And that's that one thing Johnny referring to is, we can actually time blocked no matter what there's always places where we can find the time to say no, this is exclusively for me. And for what I want to do here for my for my Imad for my internal motivation is going to be blocked in here so that then I can be driven by what to do externally. Powerful. Thank you. Okay, so with that, isn't that a good topic, because that, and I know, I've probably given this away before, but in one way, form or another. But this is a really powerful guide called The One Thing.
