The mobile phone is the best piece of kit for entrepreneurs to build their personal brand; as it comes with us on our journey every day all day as we build our business and it has all the formats we need to build a 3 dimensional story. I share the workflow, some of the apps which can be used, and the 3 types of personal information to share regularly. I use the iPhone so my references are to IOS but googleplay has it's own suite.

I mention: these are just some you can use:
jibjab
Photofunia
VideoAsk
Loom
Otter.ai
Vimeo
Buffer
Hootsuite
Zoho Social

SPEAK|Pr is for business owners to unlock the value in their organization for free with effective communication and is hosted by international Pr agency owner and entrepreneur Jim James.

Am I adding value to you?

If so - I'd like to ask you to support the show.

In return, I will continue to bring massive value with two weekly shows, up to 3 hours per month of brilliant conversations and insights.

Monthly subscriptions start at $3 per month. At $1 per hour, that's much less than the minimum wage, but we'll take what we can at this stage of the business.

Of course, this is still free, but as an entrepreneur, the actual test of anything is if people are willing to pay for it.

If I'm adding value to you, please support me by clicking the link now.

Go ahead, make my day :)

Jim James:

Technology continues to make life easier, and it's reached a point where entrepreneurs can now build their personal brand simply by using apps on their mobile phones, most of which are free or can be upgraded to get more value-added features. A large part of what entrepreneur do involves pursuing a vision of serving customers and a community with their business, and using their phones which already contain a database of customers, partners, suppliers, and teams on apps like WhatsApp, WeChat, Facebook, or the contact list, one already has that community with them and they can build their brand wherever they go. Content creation on a mobile phone is really simple. Most phones nowadays are equipped with necessities like a camera, a voice recording app, and an app for taking down notes, and both the App Store and Google Play store have a vast number of apps available to make content more engaging. JibJab can take someone's face and place them on eCards, popular music videos, and dancing GIFs. PhotoFunia is an app that can turn photos into backdrops of buildings or billboards and add special effects too. VideoAsk is another app, and this can record a video and send it to anyone on the phone's contact list. For audio, there's the voice memo and apps like Rev and Otter. For video, Loom is one option that can record the screen as well as the audio, and it's easy to share the recording with others through a link. It's even possible to add notes or comments on the video. Photos, text, audio, and video - these can be created, modified, and shared all from the mobile phone. For hosting events, there are apps like Meetup or Eventbrite on which photos, videos, and other content can be uploaded to the app and then an event can be created. One can then use Buffer, Zoho Social, Socialbakers, or Hootsuite to connect and directly link all the social media platforms to automatically distribute the content. Undoubtedly, the phone has now become a device for content creation. It's so easy to take photographs, write text, record audio, convert audio to text or vice versa, and to film videos. Since content doesn't last long(a post on Twitter might only last for about 90 minutes and a Facebook post about two hours depending on the frequency), for entrepreneurs, continuous content creation should be the new strategy. The photo, audio, and video quality on phones is now at a level where everything can be done on it and high-tech equipment isn't always necessary. One can easily record a video, upload it to Vimeo and then it will appear across all social media channels. It's all about linking these channels together using one of these aggregation apps like Buffer or Zoho and creating content that appeals to the different audiences and touches on the various aspects of a person's life. One of the areas content could be about is the professional expertise or what one does for a living. Another dimension is their personal side, such as showing the kind of activities one does when they're not working, and this helps to build the personality of the person. Another dimension is the person in a professional context but is not at work, for example, at a business networking function, a conference, a trade show, or a seminar. That can be shared with others by participating on Zoom and sharing about it or using Otter to produce a transcript. An extra dimension is showing others the broader family and sociocultural context. These kinds of content can all be shared with others at different times and using different channels, first analysing the content if it's personal or professional and determining what platform a particular piece of content would best go on. For anyone wondering how to build a personal brand without necessarily sitting down and writing press releases, it is possible even by just using a mobile phone. For most companies, the mainstream media is not interested because the business isn't big enough, so the owned media channels are the main avenues of communication, and the hero device is the device in your hand. With it, business owners or entrepreneurs can give a glimpse into their li es as they build their brand, nd the goal is to find the inte section wherein someone else s interested in the same thin and possibly want to collaborat s, either as a customer, a p rtner, or a member of staff. By osting more frequently an with different kinds of cont nt, it jolts the memory of peo le who see those posts, becaus they may have a related inter st. The journey and everyday life of an entrepreneur is dedicated to providing service to others, and that journey can be shared with integrity and honesty, and also with a little bit of humor. There may even be others who want to go on that journey as well. And so, the device in your hand is a great way to build you brand, because it's always on, it's an amazing communication p atform, and it already has withi it the connections that matter, so make the most out of that de ice and share the value t at your business can bring to
