Rebekka:  Alright, welcome back to the Modern Mindfulness Podcast. It's me Rebekka here and today I have Nikki Novo. Hello, Nikki.

Nikki: Hi, everybody. So excited to be here today.

Rebekka: Yay, me too. Awesome. So first, I'm going to share just a brief bio about you and then we'll dive in to The flow. So Nikki is a Cuban American best selling author and master intuitive reader with a waitlist exceeding 1, 000 people and the founder of the Soul Reading Method, a certification program where she has taught more than 1, 300 students how to activate their own intuitive abilities.

Rebekka: Nikki is the go to spiritual advisor for the biggest names in the wellness industry and a leader in the spiritual Latinx community. Dedicated to helping people remember their true soul's path, Nikki has been featured in Oprah Daily, Well and Good, Cosmo, Bustle, Marie [00:01:00] Claire, NBC, Telemundo, as well as on popular podcasts like Almost 30, Balance Blonde, and Highest Self podcast.

Rebekka: She has been commissioned to speak by organizations like Equinox, Yahoo, Bumble, Aveeno, Marriott, and Macy's. When she is not leading the way for people to connect with their hearts and souls, Nikki is most likely enjoying nature on her 30 acre farm alongside her husband, teen daughter, rambunctious sons, and their farm animals.

Rebekka: Oh boy. Okay, Nikki, so officially welcome in and hearing that. Is that all of who you are? Of course, it isn't. But is there anything more to chime in on and hearing that little bio?

Nikki: So funny to have your bio read back to you. I was like, I either sound like I'm 60 years old because I've like lived such a life or, um, but it's always good as you're reading it.

Nikki: I was like, okay, let's see. I think it's a good opportunity to take it in and because I think, you know, especially those of us who are, have lived a life, you know, like working towards things like made things happen. [00:02:00] I think it's hard for us to sometimes like absorb it and really like let it sit in our energy.

Nikki: So as you were reading that, I was like, yes, I did do all those things like, yes, that is me. Like, just let it sit in me. So it's just a total gift for you to read. To say that to me. So thank you. And I also think it's a great exercise. Like sometimes with my clients, I'll be like, let's write out all the impossible things like you have done, because I feel like when, you know, all the impossible things that you've done, you can take more risk or like be more brave because you're like, well.

Nikki: I did this like crazy thing. I moved from Florida to California on like this gut feeling and I met my partner and I knew that I was going to meet my partner and that's like a little something you want to add. Like to me that's more important than having something on the wall that says like I did whatever degree or whatever certification.

Nikki: Like I feel like it's those moments and reading those moments back to you. It's so important. So thank you for that gift.

Rebekka: Oh, gosh, you're [00:03:00] welcome. Yeah, John and I were talking, my partner, it was in the last few weeks and he had also shared with one of his clients around just holding your trophies, slowing down enough to hold the trophy, just receive, receive.

Rebekka: So yeah, I love that.

Nikki: I love that. That's so, it's so easy to visualize that, you know?

Rebekka: Yeah. Yeah. Good. Cool. Well, there's so many directions we could go and as we were chatting before hitting record here, All right. You know, I know a lot of you listeners out there are on your journey, aren't we all? But specifically around like, what are these feelings I have inside of me?

Rebekka: Some of you, I know that you're like moving from whatever, like a corporate job into like being your own boss and stepping into that type of You know, living on your own in that way, trusting your God, as you said, or some of you are feeling what is called maybe a spiritual awakening, but what does it even mean?

Rebekka: And so, even just starting with maybe the basic terms that we can hear tossed around are like spiritual awakening, or like soul, like intuition. Could you define a few of those?

Nikki: Yeah. So, I've spent 10 years. [00:04:00] doing what I call performing soul readings, which was completely on accident. I was a fashion and beauty editor for many years and started to have my spiritual awakening.

Nikki: And with that came some intuitive gifts. I wasn't necessarily born with gifts or I didn't like necessarily see ghosts or anything like that. At least I don't remember, but, um, that started to come, come like later in my life, like late twenties, early thirties. So I had, I started to have my own awakening and started to do those readings and, and what, it was so fun to do.

Nikki: And I was, I'm still doing them. And really what I started to do was like, read people's souls. So I realized that there was like, you know, a difference between your mind, your body and your soul. And I was extremely interested in the soul. To me, the soul is that part of us that has lived for many lifetimes, that ancient part of us.

Nikki: It's like our, it's our energy. It's our true essence, but we live inside a body. And we are moved by the brain. So like the brain is the engine, the [00:05:00] body is the car, and then the soul is the driver. So I was really interested in the soul because like many people, I was raised with a lot of programming. So, you know, I was born to Cuban parents.

Nikki: Um, I went to a Catholic school my entire life. Uh, I come from a very tight knit community in Miami. So there was a lot of like, and I'm a, I'm a woman, I'm a Latina woman. I'm a middle child. So like, you know, all of the. the labels and all the things that we are told before we even have a chance to think about it.

Nikki: So I remember in my twenties, I started to just go on my own healing journey. And I learned about specifically like the mindset and the brain. And, um, it was Louise Hayes, like you can heal your life book. And I could not believe that in all the years that I had gone to school, my parents put me like in really good schools.

Nikki: And, um, That nobody taught me that like your thoughts create your reality or that like there's such a thing as programming like that literally blew my mind like it blew my mind open and that was like the first time I [00:06:00] started to see that there was like this difference so that really was the beginning of it for me and when I started to get it.

Nikki: more into spirituality. I had this really bad breakup and I wanted to find out like why I chose wrong. Like, I really thought that like when I chose this person, I thought like it was because it was my person. And then when he broke up with me, that was really hard for me to go through. So I needed.

Nikki: Explanation. And I was like, I need to talk to God or like somebody that could talk to God. And so that's why I decided to go to a psychic at the time. Cause I was like, these people supposedly are talking to God or they have some sort of connection. Like I need this. And she was wonderful and she was very accurate and she, you know, predicted a lot and was my first reading.

Nikki: It was scary because I grew up Catholic and I thought I was going to get like struck by lightning like as well as I was walking out of her apartment, but I didn't I'm still here and it was really the beginning for me and I actually got really interested in readings. Like I was like, Oh, this is [00:07:00] so cool.

Nikki: Like I thought everybody should have a reading because, you know, with a good reader, because there's so much that is on our energy and there's such a story that our souls have to tell that like the right person that could read that could really help you. So I started going to a bunch of readings and I became like a reading connoisseur.

Nikki: And I don't know, something in that process taught me that like, People are reading all sorts of different things, like that first lady I went to was reading angels. But I was, there were some people that I could tell was like maybe reading like who I was and my essence. And that was like what I was most interested in, like I thought it was cool like the spirit guides and the angels and all that was like cool, but I really wanted to know it was like, why am I here?

Nikki: Like, what am I meant to do this lifetime? Like, do I have a soul? Like, who is she? So that interest actually like dictated what I ended up doing. So I started having these natural gifts because I was. Taking all sorts of like weird [00:08:00] certifications just for fun, really just for myself, which I'm sure so many of you have gone down this path that you're just like taking, you know, Reiki or yoga because like you're just trying to heal yourself.

Nikki: And then at some point it might even turn into your work. And I did not expect that to happen at all. Like my Cuban mother was like, you're doing what? I was like, yes, I am doing readings. And, you know, my father who like put me through education, he's like. Wait a second. So we spent all this money on like private school education and you're doing readings.

Nikki: I'm like, yes, I am. So it was a hard transition for me, but I, like, I couldn't help, but do it. And really I was interested in people's souls and it's still what I do. So I think the first, like, if we're going to talk about spiritual awakening or anything like that, I really think we have to start off with like the first basic definition with, which is the soul, because the spiritual awakening is a soul experience.

Nikki: So the, the soul is what we are at our [00:09:00] core, at our essence. And that soul before this lifetime had a little bit of a plan for itself. It was like, well, I'm going to come, I'm going to do these things and maybe even some karmic relationships, meaning like I'm going to meet these soulmates and we're going to do this and we're going to do that.

Nikki: And it's very orchestrated. Before the soul comes. But what happens is that part of being human is that we forget. So like part of this human experience is about forgetting all of that. You're supposed to come in with the amnesia. You know, it's tricky because like during that time of forgetting is when we get all that programming during that time of forgetting is like when somebody tells you, you know, I don't know, you're not good enough or you're fat or.

Nikki: You can never do that as a career, like all of these different programs. And that's why usually, you know, you start off healing that stuff, maybe through therapy or whatever. And once there's like enough space in your brain, In your mind, typically a spiritual awakening will come. And what that means is you start to realize that [00:10:00] you're more than just a body and a brain, and that perhaps there is something guiding you or something that you're here for a spiritual awakening to me is the remembering you actually start to remember, wait a second.

Nikki: Like it's almost like. You know, when you're walking through your house and you're looking for something and like halfway through walking through your house, you're like, what am I looking for again? You know, you completely forgot. And then a minute later you're like, Oh, like it's that cup or whatever that I'm looking for.

Nikki: To me, that's what the spiritual awakening is. Like you actually start to remember that. There was something you signed up for and people going through spiritual awakening, that's usually quite scary because you're asking like the scariest questions you're asking, like, what is this all about? You know, and you might even feel like maybe I'm depressed or something, or you might think you're losing it because you're like, what's the purpose of this?

Nikki: Or, you know, what am I supposed to do here? Like these very existential, you know, kind of crisis questions [00:11:00] and they're scary. But at the same time, they are the sign of you remembering. So that really is what the spiritual awakening is. You start to remember that you are a soul and you start to make contact.

Nikki: And what's good and bad is that the minute you start to make contact with the soul, The soul's like, hallelujah, like, let's get to it, you know, and they're like, we have this whole curriculum that like we set up for and it feels like a lot, you know, and, and, and some people, their lives really change or you just feel like a whole other person because yeah, you are releasing all of the programming and you are becoming your true self and your essence.

Nikki: And there's so many layers to that.

Rebekka: Gosh, so much good stuff in there. Thank you. Thanks for sharing a little bit of your. personal journey as well. I think that's so relatable. And I know that so many people out there can relate to that because I just see it happening. I've been watching it for a long time, but there's like, I feel like [00:12:00] there's a ramp up right now too.

Rebekka: And that's maybe a whole other conversation, or maybe we do go there, but of a lot of souls coming on board right now. A lot of those remembering moments have been happening. in the last year, two, three, I think more than before. And so I know that there's some listeners out there that are like, Oh, and even if it's just like starting to scratch the surface, and this is just like one little droplet of pause, consider, feel a little teeny tiny morsel of remembering.

Rebekka: And that's really how it begins. And the way you described it. I mean, maybe some people do have a, uh, Abrupt in a really quick, like, not in a bad way, but it's like, whoa, now, from here on out, this is different, but I think, more times than not, it is a slow shift of getting some connecting of the dots, and then still being in their human programming, and then, would you say, is it, for most people that you meet, I guess, is it this gradual?

Nikki: Definitely. I mean, I, some people do have like some really intense catalyst, [00:13:00] of course, like, um, you know, and, and some little catalyst, like for me, you know, breaking up with that person felt, Oh, like such a big thing. Obviously in hindsight, it's not, it wasn't that big of a thing, but it felt like a lot for me in that moment.

Nikki: But I would say that the reason it's pretty gradual is because what's actually happening. I see this a lot, like when I'm reading people's energy is that the soul, when you, like your soul has so much power, right? Like you've heard that term, like claim your, like reclaim your power and blah, blah, blah.

Nikki: It's like, what does that even mean? Your soul, your is your energy. So like, imagine like a ball of energy. is super powerful. It's very strong and often it wants to take up more space in the body, but the body is a construct of this 3d world that we live in. So it is 3d, you know, it's, it's dense. Um, it has programming, all that kind of stuff.

Nikki: So the reason that like, [00:14:00] we are not. I don't know, Jesus Christ or Buddha that we are not like fully enlightened, just because we woke up is because the body has to create space for. The soul to sit in and the more the soul sits in and takes up space in the body, the more you kind of see a person you're like, Oh, that person seems like very authentic or they're like really living like their truth.

Nikki: And it's just because like they have, you know, worked on creating space in that body and creating space in the body looks like many different things. It could be like some people's, Awakening start from a health crisis, and it's really because the body itself is maybe like holding old emotions from this lifetime or even from other lifetimes, not leaving enough space for the soul to really take the wheel.

Nikki: So, you know, you have to go through this whole like detoxification and brings you down all these roads and that kind of stuff. Um, for some, it is like. You know, mindset work or, uh, movement, [00:15:00] whatever it may be. There's all these different ways in which we start to make more space in the body. It's really releasing what is not ours and making space for what really is ours.

Nikki: So that is a gradual process. I think that if it was super abrupt and like, here I am, you know, enlightened master would be. Super hard, but it is a constant process and it might be something that we do for the rest of our lifetimes Like I don't really think it's a I don't I personally do not have the goal of like Enlightenment, let's say I am okay with like peeling those layers for as long as I need to and I might be peeling layers all this entire lifetime because We're constantly evolving.

Nikki: I mean God is constantly evolving So I think it gets a little tricky when you start to think that there's an endgame

Rebekka: Mm hmm Yeah. Thank you. And you mentioned many good words. I'm thinking of purpose and I know I've heard that a lot from people. What's my purpose? What's my purpose? How do I [00:16:00] find my purpose?

Rebekka: And, you know, and how you're describing to each come here as a soul with a plan in place. Does that sole purpose, does it remain through lifetimes or as we enter this lifetime? Is there one purpose or several? Can we talk a little about purpose?

Nikki: Of course. My gosh, it's like something I'll geek out on because a lot of people are like, Oh, why?

Nikki: Why do you have so much information? It's like, well, I've read over 800 people. So like in many ways, I want you guys to look at me as like a scientist that I've like run eight over 800 experiments and my testing is on the soul. So that's why I have this information because I've. I've been so blessed to be able to see it and I'm curious and it's been super fun.

Nikki: So of course, like in doing my readings, one of the things I use in the readings is the Akashic records, which is. Just pin that you guys, like if it sounds weird or whatever, but I remember hearing it way before I was like ready to understand it, but it's just, it's like a place that you can go to in meditation [00:17:00] that it's an energetic space and basically like all the information of people's souls exist there.

Nikki: I know it's like very random thing to say, but it's like a library of information when you learn to read energy, you can, um, and everybody can read energy. I've taught thousands of people and. It's amazing as long as you have an interest, you can do it. It's a, it's a spiritual gift of ours. So I usually go in there.

Nikki: To to the Akashic records to find people's purposes and same thing. I mean, I think in my 20s you know, I'm a millennia an elder millennial and When we were coming into the workforce like we were very much associating work With purpose, um, it was like our understanding, like we kind of, what we brought to the table was, Hey, if we're going to do this thing called work and we're going to put these many hours into it, perhaps it should be something meaningful and fulfilling.

Nikki: And that really is like the blessing of the millennial generation really brought that to us where it wasn't really thought of before. [00:18:00] And, um, I think that's how purpose. Got caught up with work. So a lot of people are using the word like as synonyms, but I would say that work can be more of an aspect of the purpose rather than like the purpose itself.

Nikki: So you're right, Rebecca, that like purpose has, I would say many aspects and many layers. The way I like to look at purposes, like imagine looking at a spear, like a circle If I'm looking at it from like the front, I'm going to see one thing. But if I look at it from the back, I'm going to see something else, but it's still the same circle.

Nikki: So purpose is like that, that depending on when you look at a person's purpose and where they are in their journey, it will look a certain way. One of my favorite things is to like read. Somebody this year and then maybe read them again next year and to see like how the purpose changed a little bit. So that's a really interesting thing.

Nikki: And then there's also like [00:19:00] categories of purpose. So I can list them if you guys want. So based off my studies, I'm open to there being more categories, but this is like kind of what I've seen. There is what I like to call just kind of like the general purpose, which is just like every soul comes to evolve.

Nikki: So like, what is their personal reason for being here to evolve? And it could be as simple as like, let me see, I'm trying to think, I read somebody the other day and it was like, they're a star seat. They're like this kind of higher consciousness being, and they don't really understand earth too much. And they were like trying to figure out love this lifetime.

Nikki: Um, and it's part of their. Purpose. So it was just kind of a, kind of a general thing, but that's like what they're doing to evolve. And then most of us, not all of us, but most of us have a collective purpose. I would imagine everybody listening probably has a collective purpose. Collective purpose is. When we come with a purpose, that's going to support the evolution of earth.

Nikki: So it's another word for these people are like lightworkers [00:20:00] is like another word, and they come to support the evolution. So these are really, these souls are super cool. I read them all the time. I would imagine most of you listening are that if we're having this conversation is probably that. So you bring these cool gifts.

Nikki: Like these soul gifts from like other planets, sometimes from other lifetimes. Your energy itself is very powerful. And it's almost like you don't really have to do much other than just like share your energy. Believe it or not, that is bringing the earth forward. We're in a really important time where the earth is trying to, um, I have like full body goosebumps.

Nikki: I feel so many of you guys. We're in a place where the earth is like really trying to go to the next level and it needed. Lighter beings to come in. So a lot of us have come with those purposes, which also makes it hard. A lot of us with that really light energy, like this whole human body, like is not fun.

Nikki: You know, a lot of us don't want to be here or are having body issues because like, this is much more dense than where, [00:21:00] where your soul's really from. So, yeah, those are the collective purpose kind of light workers. That's really fun to me. The current purpose is what is currently important. So sometimes. I might read a soul and let's say their soul, you know, their purpose is to, I don't know, like bring a new way of learning into, you know, into earth or whatever, but their current purpose might be like, meet your romantic partner.

Nikki: Like right now it is currently important to date and like define your love, which sounds like, Oh, that's so weird. We shouldn't, that be, that sounds silly compared to like what the soul is supposed to bring. But the truth is that there's certain things that like need to fall in place. in order for a person to live into their purpose in a bigger way.

Nikki: So the current purpose is very grounded. It's very kind of to do list ish, but it's very important. And I'm sure some of you feel this, like you've probably had like premonitions of like, you know, I really feel like. I'm supposed to help in this way or do this or do [00:22:00] that, but that might be three, four, five years out.

Nikki: I remember when I first understood that I was meant to do this work, I was, I think about 30 and I was meeting with my girlfriend who's 10 years older than I was, who is 10 years older than me and, you know, we were sitting down and I'm like, I figured it out. I'm going to do this thing. I'm going to write these books.

Nikki: Like, I'm going to be a big deal. And she's like, Oh no, no, Nikki. Yeah. Like I totally see that for you. Like I can see that happening like 10 to 11 years from now. And I was like, fuck you. Like I was more on like a two year plan here. Like my premise, I thought my premonition was much closer. And, and what's funny is that she was completely accurate, like around five years.

Nikki: It's around 39, 40 is like when things are really taking off for me. So yeah, like you might feel that, but often we have to bring ourselves back to the present moment and look at like what is currently important. And it could be something as boring as getting your finances together. [00:23:00] Um, and that is still very soulful and very purposeful.

Nikki: With purpose, we're always playing with time. What's grounded and what's important right now to then achieve like the greater goal. So that's the current purpose. We also have like karmic purpose where there's a lot of which to me that has to do with relationships. Many souls like because we are coming like over and over again, You We kind of get entangled with different soulmates and relationships.

Nikki: So often we come back to just kind of like fix those soulmates. So if I ever have a hard relationship, I always say like, we got to figure this shit out because I'm not like coming next lifetime to do this again. I felt that way about this ex boyfriend of mine, actually the boyfriend that I thought I was going to marry or whatever that kind of started my spiritual awakening.

Nikki: And we just like, We broke things off, but, and we had a, you know, a decent amount of closure as much as one could ask for. But there was something kind of, he would come in my dreams and I'm like three [00:24:00] kids deep and like still dreaming of this guy and I'm like, God, this is so annoying. And about 10 years after we break up, he kind of circles back and we have this like deep conversation.

Nikki: And at the end of the conversation, I was like, we did it. We closed the karmic loop. I'm never going to have to see you motherfucker again. And he was like, He was like, what are you saying? I'm like, don't worry about it. Like, I do not need to see you next lifetime. Like we have, we have cleared it, you know?

Nikki: So, you know, it's not always possible, but if you could clear, um, and that's why like some of those harder relationships, maybe a hard relationship with a mom or a coworker or something, it's sometimes it's not having to clear it with them, but being able to learn the lesson. Um, from that. So if I have a really hard boss and he's been abusing me for many lifetimes, let's say, it's not so much that like I need to have a conversation with him, but it could also be like, this is the end of like, I will not be treated this way anymore.

Nikki: And that closes the relationship. So we do see souls coming for that as well. And those [00:25:00] really are it. It's very layered. And the way that work plays in with purpose is when you kind of get an idea of what that That purpose is you have some say as to how you want it to show up work wise. There's something interesting about the, like when a soul creates its, its path for this lifetime, because the earth and because the universe is always evolving, there's a lot of things that the soul cannot predict.

Nikki: It's kind of like, let's say you're on a road trip and. I'm in, I'm in outside of Asheville and I'm, let's say I'm trying to drive to Washington DC. My map might say today, you know, at this moment, eight hours, but as I start to drive, there might be an accident and like, maybe I have to take another turn.

Nikki: And I can't predict those things. You know, there's people on the road and it's changing all the time. So the same thing happens with our path and our purpose. So once we come on earth and earth is wherever it's at. [00:26:00] Like things like, um, even just things like innovations. Like, I mean, it's not like the soul's like, there's going to be this thing called podcasting and I'm going to do that.

Nikki: Like, we don't know. So you're given a lot of freedom, like once you're here as to how you want to fit your gifts into the world. So it's, it's, it's less about. Doing your purpose. And it's more about embodying and being your purpose. You're allowed to pick work that just works for you this lifetime. Like that just like works with your lifestyle that, you know, is fun and gives you money because it's supposed to be a container where you can exist as.

Nikki: Your your true self. So as long as it's doing that that it is like this container that gives you space to be Truly like what your soul is meant to be you are like [00:27:00] living into your purpose and I know You know, it's it's funny. We want to be free, but we also want to be told exactly what we're supposed to be doing So I I don't know if that like is scarier for people but you do have freedom in that

Rebekka: Yes, I jotted down so many little things and we could definitely keep, I could tell like, like you said, nerd out on the soul, the purpose talk.

Rebekka: And I love how you categorize that. I think that's super helpful and I can relate to a lot of that for sure. And it's so great that you said road trip because as you were talking at one point, I was like, ah, this is like a road trip and more along the lines of. really trusting life's journey and thinking of, I don't know, it's probably different for everybody, but specifically on a road trip, although the end destination sounds super exciting, and that is the end destination.

Rebekka: Like there are so many, a lot of times like fun stops along the way that you don't even see coming. So even as you're going through life and maybe you have this, like you said, here's the goal, I'm going to do this. And your friend [00:28:00] saying it's a 10 year thing. Hold on there's all these little stops along the way that actually might be even better than the destination and it's kind of like back to presence and really just taking life day by day in a way too because I know a lot of people that I talk to they get so hung up on like that that vision which that's important but still then life is happening right now.

Rebekka: And so finding a relationship with presence amidst all of this soul journey and lifetimes and understanding the karmic qualities of things. And so I think it comes back to, you mentioned fun or feel good. And I'm thinking of like that emotional frequency scale. And so when it comes to souls and following your intuition or following your soul path, is there something to with like emotional frequency or is it moving towards fun?

Rebekka: Like how can people start to find more of that freedom? Or how do they know when they're on the soul path? Is there something with emotions that helps steer them along the way?

Nikki: Yeah, I'm gonna, I'm gonna answer that, but I wanted to like quickly [00:29:00] piggyback on your road trip. So, like, we often, you know, get hits on the spiritual awakening of like, The vision of kind of like maybe perhaps what might be coming two years from now, three years from now, you know, like you were saying, like the vision.

Nikki: And we of course, like just want to get to the end and to that vision. And we feel like if we're not there, then we're not really living our purpose or like what, what are we doing with this time? And I think it's important to remember that, that the road is super purposeful and the reason for the road and the journey that gets you there is because.

Nikki: You need to build the strength to be the person that is at the end at that vision. And I think that brings us back to like the second question. Yes, often sometimes building strength means doing hard things, getting through hard stuff, like seeing what we're made of, you know, all that kind of stuff. But it's also moving up the energetic ladder.

Nikki: Like you were saying, like I [00:30:00] always see Emotions and all that as like a ladder. Um, and really it's just, it's an energetic ladder. So typically, you know, let's say when I told my friend that, you know, I'm going to be this thing and I see it, you know, maybe if from zero to 10, that energetic ladder, I might've been vibrating at a three at the time, but perhaps like that version of myself that I saw, perhaps she was a 10, like energetically a 10, um, So as much as like, I could see that vision and everything, I still have to move up the energetic ladder.

Nikki: Like I have to be able to hold the vibration of a tent. And that kind of is synonymous with feelings because feelings is like how we. Understand vibration. So feeling sad is a different vibration than feeling excited. You know, let's say, and that usually like the more free, the feeling, the higher, the vibration.

Nikki: And even when it comes to [00:31:00] like manifesting all that kind of stuff, creating. we're basically trying to move up the, uh, energetic vibrational ladder. And yes, I do think we're capable of like feeling and thinking our way to, you know, whatever vibrational imprint I need to be at. But the truth is like we exist in a human body and there's a lot of physical things that we will often have to do to go from a three to a four to a five and ultimately like maybe leap.

Nikki: into 10. And that's why that journey as is important. Now, as for like, I think what you're asking, you know, if I'm saying it correctly, it's almost like, okay, well, what When we're trying to, you know, move into our purpose or like live our kind of our soul's life It would be nice to have kind of a North Star like, um, you know, like what is it that we're shooting for?

Nikki: How do we get there? And that's a really interesting question because actually that's one of the things I look for in the reading because typically [00:32:00] when you meet a person They're on a certain path and sometimes it is the default path, as I like to call it, which I write about in my book. And like, this is the path I was talking about, like the programming path.

Nikki: I mean, I was on one at a very young age, I, you know, graduated from college, I got a job, I had myself a boyfriend, I was about to get engaged and I thought these were, you know, the things I was supposed to do, right? And then I was going to buy a house and I was gonna have kids and just do the whole Uh, but had an awakening during that time and knew that that was not my path and that there was something more true to me.

Nikki: So I got off the default path and moved into my soul's true path. And I think we're always trying to figure out, am I on the wrong path? Like, am I on a default path or am I on my soul's true path? So it's, it's important to know how it, like that question of feeling has a lot to do with like, what does my.

Nikki: Default path feel like, and what does my [00:33:00] soul's true path feel like? And that feeling should be your North star. And it's different for everybody. And it's also different in the moment. Like right now I might be going through a hard thing and then maybe the feeling of being in my soul's true path might be discipline right now.

Nikki: Like that might be what's like serving me the most, but you can usually like. Kind of jump ahead of that a little bit. And perhaps I think for most souls, like the real feeling of the soul's true path is freedom. It's like to feel is to be free because the soul is free. Like, it's just that on earth, we live in a body which actually like traps us with a mind.

Nikki: So like, we want it to be free. So like, you want to kind of feel into like, what makes me feel the most free, but sometimes in order to be free, there are human, like things that I need to do. For example, I may want to be free. And I know that that's. Me having a business, but I could be in a [00:34:00] business that does not make me feel free at all because I don't have structures.

Nikki: I don't have like systems and it might be the year for me to like get down and dirty with my systems and get very disciplined which might feel like the opposite of being free because the ultimate goal is to be free. So I think where we sometimes get it wrong is that The road is supposed to be rainbows and butterflies and feel amazing.

Nikki: And if it doesn't, then I'm doing it wrong. And it's like, no, if the hard time or the challenging time is meaningful. And it is a smaller part of a bigger picture than you're, than you're doing it right. So like there is meaning in climbing like a mountain, there's meaning in, you know, trying to walk through mud.

Nikki: And that's really what, you know, that's really what we're like when we're thinking about how is it supposed to feel, that's really what we have to think about.

Rebekka: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Thank [00:35:00] you. That's definitely right around what I was sensing. And I love blending all these because of course there's all sorts of tools for people now.

Rebekka: In a way, I guess it's for their spiritual awakening, whether you call it, you know, there's astrology and their systems that have been around for many, many years, or there's the human design and just all these self awareness tools that are out there. And somewhere in all of these methodologies, there are There are problems to quote solve and there are challenges to move through and still that I'm picturing this like bigger bubble or higher arc of the soul journey and then along the way whether we look at it as a road trip or what have you and my background is in embody.

Rebekka: I called it embodiment for years. It's definitely embodiment practices because I feel like I'm kind of in that middle place and this is definitely embodiment. Thank you. part of my soul purpose, if not my total soul, I don't know where, which purpose level it is, but of helping people really get into these human bodies so that they can continue along their soul journey and really ultimately live their highest purpose out while they've got the time [00:36:00] here this time, or maybe not till next time, I don't know.

Rebekka: But then within that is, you know, yoga and fitness. I was a trainer for years and that has now turned into the somatic level of somatic experiencing and trauma healing. And, and it's so interesting to, like you mentioned, Facing like, okay, this is the challenge right now or like developing discipline around this or that and having structures and so it's in these like little day to day or many chapters of life to where you have to like get into your body, get into the density of the human thing to work your way through, clear the stuff out, get the energy realigned so that then.

Rebekka: And correct me if I'm, like, not on this, but I'm feeling like then your soul's energy can move better through your physical body. Is that, is that how embodiment also comes into this? Or say there's traumas or there's things that the body is stuck, the body gets ill, like you mentioned earlier. When the body clears, does the soul just have, you know, like, the vehicle is the body, but then I'm sensing like the soul moves through it smoother.

Rebekka: Is there a way you can describe that [00:37:00] metaphor of the human body? Being the vehicle and the soul being the driver.

Nikki: Yeah. No, I love that. The soul is it just has like more space To do what it wants to do It makes me feel like, you know, I might have this like super cool Tesla, but like have no idea how to use it And that's frustrating like it I might not be using it to it's like full potential I might only know how to use like two little switches like on this car but when the soul is When the body is clear and, you know, whether that's like, yeah, like releasing.

Nikki: That's why I think somatic, what you do, like somatic healing is so important, you know, movement, all those kinds of things. Like it's just part of making space then perhaps like, you know, I can really learn how to use this vehicle and make it work for me more. So the soul starts to like. Even connect to the brain in a different way.

Nikki: Like I think, for example, like what I do teaching people how to do readings. [00:38:00] I mean, that's very expansive for people. Like that's very expansive for like the human species, like to be able to be like, wait a second, like this brain and body can read and write. Like you're telling me I can, you know, it's kind of like saying, yeah, it's always been there.

Nikki: Like it's, this is nothing new. You're not special because you can do it. We all have the capability. It's just that your consciousness level hasn't brought you to this place that you are. aware enough or creative enough to be like, maybe I could, maybe I can predict the future. I don't know. Maybe I can like read things.

Nikki: Right. So it's like, think about curiosity. Like, just think about like the word curiosity, curiosity only available to people that are, have open minds, right. That their mind is open to other possibilities. And what do we hate about people that have really strong opinions is like, cause they're closed minded.

Nikki: They're actually limiting like what is possible [00:39:00] for them and what is possible this lifetime and if they would just open and become more curious, um, that's actually like the number one thing I ask people to do when, when I'm teaching them how to read energy and do readings is I need your curiosity because there is so much more for you.

Nikki: Like as long as you're curious, because what you're doing is you're making more space for your, your spiritual. Self to use its most basic spiritual gifts, which is intuition. So like that's how we get access People that look like supernatural are just people that have made more space and I'm sure you've seen this like in your own You know, I'm sure there's things that you've done in your practice You're like this is not of this world like this Like I can't believe this person healed it this way or even yourself, right?

Nikki: Like these times that you've done some healings on yourself. You're like, oh my gosh Like I didn't even know that was possible. And it was really that you made space like beyond [00:40:00] this body and you, you made more space for these, the spiritual part of you, which has endless gifts because that is, you know, the soul and the spiritual part of us is like that part of us that is a piece of the divine.

Nikki: And the divine is, you know, ever expansive and it continues to expand. So there's just so much, we just like, Don't always have access to it. And that's why awakening is so important. I think that's also why we're trying to like extend our lifetimes because Unfortunately, like awakening, you know, it tends to happen and some people might have it much later.

Nikki: Some people die never Awakening, you know having an awakening But many of us are having it in our like maybe late 20s or 30s or 40s and that still feels kind of late in a way because there's You know, so much to do after. But I think that that's also like kind of why the human is like, can we extend our life to maybe just like have more time to explore what we're, what we're really capable of.[00:41:00]

Rebekka: Yeah. And I love space. I'm known to say space is where the magic happens in so many different ways. And so now I'll be thinking of this too, as you're sharing, like we need the space for this. You know, call it magic, but it is where things can finally click together and be seen and felt and heard where the busyness of life, which we'll get to this like modern mindfulness whole thing.

Rebekka: But ever since, what, the last few decades, especially on planet earth, we've gotten real noisy and really busy as a human people and past cultures have valued the soul and the spirit more than currently, at least here in the U. S. especially. And so all the more reason to insert some space and, um, recognize.

Rebekka: We're a very heady culture, and so here we are, we gotta create space in the body so that the soul can be even more here, and it's happening, but do you see anything more collectively going on? I think that probably generalizes it. Is there anything more specific you're sensing?

Nikki: Yeah, I think we're going to really start to innovate.

Nikki: Like I think that a lot of, [00:42:00] um, and I, I had predicted this a while ago. Like I thought like psychedelics specifically, like, um, mushrooms and things like that were going to come, come on the scene like a few years ago because it helps some people open. You can open your mind through meditation. Like I actually did these brain scans on my brain when I was doing readings and the doctor was like, your brain looks like a brain on mushrooms.

Nikki: I'm like, yeah, I could, I could get there like by myself. But I do think that people are opening up that crown chakra, making more space. And that's, I think that's why we see a lot of people trying to shift their jobs, trying to work less, like all that stuff, because they're trying to make space in their lives.

Nikki: Because I think as a collective, as a species, we're about to like birth a really big. Like innovation, basically, like some, something that like innovates in a big way, like the way that, you know, when we learned fire, like fire was a huge innovation for the human species, right? Like you can now start to cook and, um, your brain can, like, [00:43:00] by cooking we could eat more food and.

Nikki: And we became, you know, bigger, but faster, stronger because of that. So I think that we're like in a place there. So we're going to see a lot of innovation. And I think the word space is a perfect word that like, you know, what's so funny is that in order to innovate, you need space. Like that's when, you know, you come up with the creative ideas or when you come up with creative solutions for like something that's like been driving you crazy for months, years, it's like when you have some space.

Nikki: Or when you go to, you know, a new place or, you know, something that you're in a new surrounding is like when the best stuff comes through. Right. So we need that. And I, and, um, because the way that the system, the system of like the world right now is just like, it's just old. I wouldn't even say it's bad.

Nikki: It's just that it's old for where we're going. So probably a lot of you listening. Know that the reason you're probably making these like funny changes and stuff is really because you're seeking Space for something [00:44:00] new I kind of get the sense that everybody who's listening is almost like setting up their lifestyle to make it a more kind of like Holistic container to birth something new that almost like what you're working on is not the newness It's actually not the birthing of the new thing It's like you're making like a cozy space for something to birth for something to come in so it's really beautiful and it's it's really worth the effort and That really is more what we call like soul led living, you know, like when you're actually following what's going on Your soul and, and kind of getting outside of what the world is telling you to do.

Nikki: And in the world, it's not bad or good. It's just that like, we have to, I don't want to say can take control, but almost like maneuver, like the energy that's like flowing into the earth to like turn it into something that we actually want. It's a creation power. Like we want to create what we really want to live, not just create something by default.

Nikki: And we've [00:45:00] been living lately in a way where like. We've been creating by default. Oops. Like we made this thing called social media and it turned into this, like, Oh my God, like we, you know, nobody planned for it to happen that way. And now we're really starting to be like, Oh my gosh, there's this like creative force that's happening and it's super powerful.

Nikki: Let's use it. With intention. And I think that starts off in the very basic in our everyday life, right? Like me creating with intention, you creating with intention. And then that's actually like how the earth starts to be more in flow and be more respectful of the creative force that is in earth. It's kind of like a little storm, like some wind that like, we're just trying to put it in the right direction.

Rebekka: Yes. I have two last questions. I want to might you have a few more minutes. in a minor time, but yeah. So you, you pretty much gave the long form of the modern mindfulness question, but all that is so good. And I'm wondering if in like a single statement, if you had someone [00:46:00] right here and you're telling them and through all of this, whatever, you know, mindfulness to me means awareness, although there are more traditional practices of mindfulness, you know, here it's like being aware of X, Y, and Z.

Rebekka: Why is that important to someone in our modern times, according to you?

Nikki: Mindfulness is important because you matter and

Nikki: you're so powerful that if you're not mindful, you're wasting a power and a gift. And like, when you wake up from this dream called life, you'll be like, ah, I've missed my power and in living mindfully is where you that discover that power within yourself.

Rebekka: Yeah. I love that. Thank you. I have this like a little question too.

Rebekka: I'm like, I do want to ask it because I also know, and I really love this about my listeners. I know there are [00:47:00] people out there that are like, well, I'm, I'm not going to become a yoga teacher. A Reiki master, a this or that, but I, yeah, I'm like living for my soul. I'm enjoying life. So, it's kind of like that question, what's the point of life?

Rebekka: Like, not just soul purpose. So, is it happiness? Like, what in, in your eyes, what is the purpose of big life? Are people listening? Like, at the end of the day, I love my life as it is. Is that, is that enough?

Nikki: I think it's creation. Okay. Like I really, yeah, like if I had to sum it up, um, I really do think it's creation and I think there's this process of like, um, and we, we're, we still feel really guilty about the things that we desire.

Nikki: Like, you know, there's so many things that we want and we have these like weird emotions about it. It's like, I'm mad I don't have it. Or I don't know if I deserve it or whatever, like we get like all sorts of weird with what we want. Um, the best manifestors are people that are like, Yeah, I just, I don't know.

Nikki: I just want this. Like it could be like the randomest thing and then like it shows up in their life because they have no, there's no charge around what they want. And I think that my [00:48:00] idea of the divine of God is like very playful and curious and almost like, Kind of looking at like what happens when you put these like creators all together.

Nikki: So I, I think our purpose is to be creators because being human has, comes with so many emotions. Um, I think at some point as creators, we learn like, Oh, well, it's better to make these creations that make me feel good because like, it's not fun to be a human and not feel good. Um, they do say that like feelings is something that's very unique to human life, like souls in other, um, Forms or even other dimensions like they do not like have feelings.

Nikki: So feelings is something that's very unique to earth So that's why not everybody gets them because like they might you know, not have like had feelings before or whatever so I think it's about I think it's really about creating and then by Results to that you kind of end up wanting to create something that makes you feel good Because [00:49:00] it just makes life easier.

Nikki: But I think, yeah, I think it's creative.

Rebekka: Ooh. I like it. Yeah. I'm going to chew on that a little. Yeah. It's feels very potent to like, just feel so, uh, well, I love how you talk about planets and God and divine and this and that, and then, you know. toss in some cuss words, which is great. I love that. And you know, you just bring it down to earth literally.

Rebekka: And that's really what I also hope to share through this podcast. So thank you so much for being you and keeping it literally real and relatable and digestible. And you have some offerings, you have an incredible book. So could you share a little bit about The book and about other ways people can connect.

Nikki: Yeah, and I would just say the spiritual journey is supposed to be very earthly because we chose to Come to earth and I think anybody sometimes when we don't want to ground it's because we are resisting that Often the soul sometimes will resist the choice that it made to come to earth because it's [00:50:00] like what like I did not know it was going to be this hard, um, and it starts to like backpedal like can I, you know, can I get out of here or whatever, but it's important to respect that your soul chose this journey, even if you don't always know why, but you are it.

Nikki: Absolutely here for a reason and your soul that has a higher vantage point, like knew what it was doing when it chose this lifetime and we might not always see, you know, what it is, but we just have to follow the breadcrumbs and respect the choice that there is something for us. I'll leave us with that.

Nikki: And yes, so I have a book called soul led living. So if you're interested in like in these conversations, it's available on Amazon. I also teach people how to do reading. So we talked about that a little bit. It's called soul reading method. I do it twice a year. It's super fun. It's a great way to. Group program where we learn how to do the soul readings.

Nikki: And, um, I also have a little course that's always available and it's called soul led purpose. So like any of you that were like, Oh my gosh, [00:51:00] like I love to hear more about purpose. Um, it's a, it's a self discovery program and it goes into like a lot of the things that I've learned from doing all these readings.

Nikki: So it's, it's super fun and yeah, you can just find me on Instagram. Feel free to reach out. I'm always happy to say hi and I'm really grateful to be here with all of you.

Rebekka: Oh, so good. Yes. Thank you so much. And you mentioned Instagram and I feel like mentioning I mean, this was a soul like conversation. I reached out to Nikki through Instagram, and it was actually on one of your Mondays where I've been following you for a little bit.

Rebekka: And it definitely was the Monday readings are fun. So everybody tune in. And but I was like, Oh, this is it. There was like a deeper gut feeling. And I was like, you know what, I'd love to talk to her more. I'd like to get to know her reached out. And within like 24 hours, you did see my message. Which rarely happens, I find, sometimes, anymore, and so I know this was meant to be and I just thank you so much for that and I do love social media and human life in that way because like this is so fun and this feels so important [00:52:00] to connect and social media brought us together so maybe something greater than so it was the vehicle.

Nikki: Yeah, I agree. I love like social and internet and all that for connecting because when you're really living a soul led life, a lot of times people around you are. not like you. So it's so nice to connect to somebody on the other side of the country that is connected to me, but maybe my neighbor has like no connection to me in that way.

Nikki: So it's, it's beautiful that we were able to connect.

Rebekka: Yeah. Agreed. Yeah. So great. Oh, well, thank you so much for your time and listeners. Thank you so much for listening. Check out Nikki and all that she has to share. All the links are below of course, and we'll catch you all next time. Thanks again, Nikki.
