Time, Money & Energy - How Are You Spending Yours?
There are many resources available to us each day, and sometimes we have more or less depending on the circumstances, events, and so many other factors. When it comes to how you're spending or using the three resources that many people dwell on the most, which are time, money, and energy, we have the opportunity to ask ourselves how are we managing these areas in our lives.
Time is something you cannot get back, but so many people are wasting theirs.
Energy is something that is precious and plays a huge role in our overall well-being, however many people are putting theirs in areas that are draining them.
Money is something that can determine how we live, yet so many people are squandering it on things that don't truly enrich their lives.
It's time to take stock, to evaluate our priorities, and to ensure that we're investing these invaluable resources wisely, for they can shape the quality of our existence.
Are you a woman willing to learn how to prioritize yourself, heal and grow from past issues so they no longer play a role in your present and future life, and develop a healthy self-friendship, which will have you feeling OH SO GOOOOOOOD about yourself? Let's talk about it on a complimentary Love Chat to see if I'm able to support you on this journey. Click the link below to choose a date and time.

Speaker 1:I thought about what it is I really wanted to talk about today, and what popped up was time yeah, good old time, and this actually was creeping in my brain because I've been having quite a few conversations with people recently about the exchange of money, time, energy, various resources and how some people get really hung up on one. So some people may really get hung up on money, some people really get hung up on time, but aren't all of these resources important in some way? Money is important because money pays for things. It helps us to have homes to live in and food to eat and clean water. So money is important. Time is also really important, and so is energy, and these are things we do not want to waste. However, it seems as though quite a few people waste them.
Speaker 1:I'm guilty of that too, of wasting time, energy and money sometimes. Now I will say proudly that I do not waste time, money or energy that much. These days, I've learned my lessons, but back in the day, heck, yeah, I wasted a lot of time, a lot of energy and a lot of money, and it was because I didn't know any better or I didn't care, or my priorities were just not what they needed to be. There were so many reasons why I wasted time, money and energy. However, I could have not learned my lesson and just kept wasting those resources.
Speaker 1:Today, at this age, I could still be wasting my time, my energy and my money, and so my question to you is how do you feel about that? Are you wasting your time, your energy or your money? Now, I'm not talking about, when it comes to money, splurging on yourself or treating yourself to things. I really support those, okay, I support treating yourself to nice things and splurging on things and being responsible with your money. Yes, I do feel that we should also enjoy our money. And yep, I said should. Yes, I know that's a forbidden word for a lot of people, but we can still use it. But, yeah, money is something to be spent responsibly and you can have fun with it, do whatever you want, right? Same thing with our energy and time. You can do whatever you want with it if you're using it responsibly or you're using it in ways that can benefit yourself, benefit those you love, benefit the world. In some way, there's a way to use these resources and if we waste them, eventually we just won't get any more of it. Right? If you keep wasting money, you're going to properly find yourself in situations where you're not receiving more money or the amounts of money you would like to make or receive.
Speaker 1:If you're wasting your time, you may find yourself running out of time and fun fact, which is really not fun, but we are all running out of time in a way. Right, we are not taking this down a morbid avenue, but let's be serious here. We don't know how much time we have, so why not make the most of it? Right. This isn't to be doom and gloom. This is to give you some perspective on your time. We do not have time to waste. Whether you have 10 years left to live, 50 years left to live more, less, who knows but why waste a second of it in ways that don't feel good? And that's not to say that you're going to have days that aren't the best. We're human, we're living life, so we're going to have good times, not so good times. We're going to have love, joy, sadness, disappointment. We're going to have all of it.
Speaker 1:I'm talking about when you are intentionally wasting your time and energy and money, wasting them in ways that you know are not good for you. Wasting your energy doing things that is just bad or is not healthy or is not loving and kind. Wasting your energy on people who are not kind to you. Wasting your time doing things that you are dreading. You have responsibility on where you put your time, your energy and your money and, yes, there are going to be times when you put your time, money and energy in places that you may not really want to, but maybe you have to for some reason. There may be times you have to show up for someone. There may be times you have to help someone out financially. There may be times you have to give energy in an area that you may not really want to, but it's a necessity.
Speaker 1:Okay, that's different, but I'm going to encourage you to take inventory of where you are spending your time, your money and your energy Right now. Think back over the last 24 hours. What did you do? What did you do with your time, your money and your energy? And then think back over the last week, if you really want to get deep into it. Think over the last month, the last year.
Speaker 1:If you find yourself saying quite often that, man, time is just going by so fast, I don't even know what I'm doing with myself, that's a big old indicator that maybe you're not putting your time and energy into the things you really want to do. I'm going to encourage you to really pay attention over the next few days Let me give a number Over the next three days. Really pay attention to where you are putting your time, your money and your energy. Really pay attention to this and ask yourself are you putting your time, your energy and your money into things, people, places, experiences that really bring you some joy, some peace, some love, some compassion, some good stuff, or do you find yourself spending majority of your time, energy and money in things, people, places, experiences that do not light you up? Again, you heard me say the majority. Where are you spending the majority of these resources? Take some time to really think about this and pay attention.
Speaker 1:Moving forward, I want to actually keep this pretty quick, this episode, because we really don't have to spend that much time on it. Even though I could keep going, I want to keep this one pretty short because I would love for you to just go ahead and get started on where you're putting your time, money and energy and figuring that out for yourself. I also want to encourage you to do something fun. This is inspired by Maya Angelou, who stated and I'm not quoting her word for word, but she did state at one point that it is okay to have a day, to have some time where you don't have plans, you don't have goals, you don't have expectations. You just be a part of the day. Maybe you've heard me talk about this before on a previous episode, or if you and I have conversations, you may have heard me talk about this, or if you really know me, you know that I do this where I have unplugged days.
Speaker 1:The unplugged days are something I cherish. I cherish them so much now because back in the day and I'm saying back in the day like I'm 90 years old, but back in the day I did not give myself time to just be. It was always go, go, go, hustle, hustle, hustle, grind, grind, grind. And I am definitely not part of that type of living any longer. But I remember being in that rat race mentally, emotionally, physically, financially and just always on the go and never gave myself time to just be and just sit and just give myself myself. And now I truly am intentional about where I put my time, my energy and my money and especially my time right. My time and energy, they're so important because those are things we cannot get back. Money comes and goes right. It can always get more money. Money is there for us At your time. You cannot get time back and, if we think about it, if we only get so much energy in a day, once that energy is used up in that day, you don't get it back. You have to replenish your energy.
Speaker 1:Yes, but I have been really good about taking some unplugged time and it looks different each time I do it. Sometimes it's for a full day, sometimes it's for a few days at a time. I've done unplugged weeks and during those times I'm either unplugging from social media or electronics in general, so my phone, television, all of it. There are times when I'm just taking the day as it comes, sometimes I'm unplugged from people, sometimes I'm just unplugged from doing it. Really just depends on what I feel I need during that time period.
Speaker 1:So the last thing I'm going to encourage you all to do on this episode is to schedule an unplugged day. If you are listening to this on the day that it airs, it is March 25th, 2024. Now, if you're listening to this afterwards, that's okay, but I'm going to encourage you, if you're listening to this in March, or even if you're listening to this in May or another year, it doesn't matter Plan an unplugged day within the next 30 days from listening to this episode. I'm encouraging you to do this for yourself and it can look and feel like whatever it is you want it to look and feel like.
Speaker 1:So, if this means you're taking an unplugged day to unplug from social media or from television, or from work, or from people or from planning, right If you just have a day where you say I'm not planning anything, I'm just going to wake up and see what happens, whatever you want to do. That's the fun part of this. And if you're thinking to yourself, well, denise, I have little kids at home, or I have lots of responsibilities, I hear you. That does not mean you cannot plan an unplugged day. Whether you have one child or 15 kids at home, you can still plan something for yourself. And if one day feels too big, then say I'm going to have an unplugged afternoon, and again, you get to cater this in the way that benefits you the most and your lifestyle. So no excuses. Again, we only have so much time and energy. So be intentional about where you're putting it.
Speaker 1:And, as always, if you would love to explore digging more into self-friendship for yourself, healing those inner wounds that has been keeping you plagued to an unhappy and unfulfilled life, or you're looking for some mindset shifting to help you move forward in your life, I would love to invite you to get on a complimentary 30-minute love chat with me, and you can do this by going on my website, denisemarchnet, or you can check in the show notes and there's a link for you there to schedule that call.
