SelfKind: Conversations in self-care, kindness and compassion for highly sensitive people
Hi and welcome to SelfKind with me, Erica Webb. This is a podcast for Highly Sensitive People (HSP) who want to navigate the tricky bits of their sensitivity with more ease, while finding their sensitivity super powers. Here, we're all about being, living and moving through a lens of self compassion and kindness.
As your host, I meet you as a fellow HSP. I know what it's like to feel like things are too loud, too bright and just ... too much. In my work as a registered counsellor and mindful movement coach, I've supported myself and my clients to find ways to embrace their sensitivity that centre on self-compassion, nervous system regulation, self-awareness and, ultimately, self-love.
From mindfulness, mindful movement, joy seeking and a zillion and one practices in between, here you'll find space to be fully you - fully human - and the tools to navigate the tricky bits of having a highly sensitive nervous system.
I’m thrilled you’re here.

Ep 194: Reclaiming self-care
Who showed you what self-care in action looked like? Anyone?
In today's episode of SelfKind, I'm talking about what it means to carve a new path for self-care when, probably, you did not grow up watching the people around you actively demonstrating it. In fact, what you might have seen demonstrated was more like sacrifice and martyrdom.
So, what do we do when all we've known and seen does not align with what we want for ourselves? That's what we'll dive into here!
In this episode you'll hear:
- Why understanding your underlying beliefs is key to writing a new story
- How action contributes to change
- How to build a new story, even when it feels hard (hello, guilt!)
- Why tip-toeing out of your comfort-zone could be helpful
- Why self-compassion and understanding your overarching commitment is key
