SelfKind: Conversations in self-care, kindness and compassion for highly sensitive people
Hi and welcome to SelfKind with me, Erica Webb. This is a podcast for Highly Sensitive People (HSP) who want to navigate the tricky bits of their sensitivity with more ease, while finding their sensitivity super powers. Here, we're all about being, living and moving through a lens of self compassion and kindness.
As your host, I meet you as a fellow HSP. I know what it's like to feel like things are too loud, too bright and just ... too much. In my work as a registered counsellor and mindful movement coach, I've supported myself and my clients to find ways to embrace their sensitivity that centre on self-compassion, nervous system regulation, self-awareness and, ultimately, self-love.
From mindfulness, mindful movement, joy seeking and a zillion and one practices in between, here you'll find space to be fully you - fully human - and the tools to navigate the tricky bits of having a highly sensitive nervous system.
I’m thrilled you’re here.
SelfKind: Conversations in self-care, kindness and compassion for highly sensitive people
Ep 198: Can organising your space be a form of self-care? With guest Virginia Wells
Organising! This is one thing I do not consider myself the best at ... but my guest absolutely is! Today on SelfKind, I'm welcoming professional organiser Virginia Wells to chat with us about all things organising and decluttering. Specifically, we're diving into a conversation about how organising can be a form of self-care.
We touch on:
- why organising and decluttering isn't just about our physical space and belongings
- where to start if organising feels overwhelming
- the role of other tools - like Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) in processing the emotional realities of sorting through our things
- the four types of clutter and what they represent
- plus so much more.
About Virginia:
Virginia Wells is a Professional Organiser who runs a business called WellSorted. She helps women who are feeling stressed and overwhelmed by the clutter in their homes and their schedule, to feel organised and in control, with her hands-on and virtual sessions.
Beyond the physical space, Virginia works with you to uncover and release your deeper habits, beliefs and emotions sitting under the out layer of clutter. Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT or Tapping) is used to help release your emotional stuff. Virginia offers guidance, practical tips and time management options to create a less overwhelming way of living.
Virginia is also an author and the creator of the Decluttering Card Deck Set, which is a self-help tool to help you declutter at home on your own. It includes 2 decks of cards full of decluttering and organising challenges for you to work through on your own.
Virginia is currently the ONLY Accredited IOPO Member in Canberra. She has a Working with Vulnerable People's card and has helped many NDIS participants. She has a degree in psychology and in continually attending training on all things organising, decluttering, Emotional Freedom Technique and business.
