SelfKind: Conversations in self-care, kindness and compassion for highly sensitive people
Hi and welcome to SelfKind with me, Erica Webb. This is a podcast for Highly Sensitive People (HSP) who want to navigate the tricky bits of their sensitivity with more ease, while finding their sensitivity super powers. Here, we're all about being, living and moving through a lens of self compassion and kindness.
As your host, I meet you as a fellow HSP. I know what it's like to feel like things are too loud, too bright and just ... too much. In my work as a registered counsellor and mindful movement coach, I've supported myself and my clients to find ways to embrace their sensitivity that centre on self-compassion, nervous system regulation, self-awareness and, ultimately, self-love.
From mindfulness, mindful movement, joy seeking and a zillion and one practices in between, here you'll find space to be fully you - fully human - and the tools to navigate the tricky bits of having a highly sensitive nervous system.
I’m thrilled you’re here.

Ep 204: Knowing yourself. Are you willing to get uncomfortable?
Welcome to episode 204 of SelfKind with Erica Webb (that's me!). In this episode, I'm inspired by this reel from Esther Perel on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/p/CrbSFpEgYyv/). In this clip, she talks about how, in this modern life, we can avoid the discomfort of disappointment, dislike and 'wasted' time by having the algorithms spit us out our next best watch, listen, partner etc.
Now, she's not demonizing those things (how handy are they!) but rather pointing out the potential we have to miss opportunities to get to KNOW ourselves better.
In this episode you'll hear:
- why getting uncomfortable can be a great way to find out more about yourself and what you love
- the thing I've unexpectedly fallen in love with
- why our brain loves the certainty and safety of 'sure things'
- the role of self-trust in trying something without any guarantees.
