SelfKind: Conversations in self-care, kindness and compassion for highly sensitive people
Hi and welcome to SelfKind with me, Erica Webb. This is a podcast for Highly Sensitive People (HSP) who want to navigate the tricky bits of their sensitivity with more ease, while finding their sensitivity super powers. Here, we're all about being, living and moving through a lens of self compassion and kindness.
As your host, I meet you as a fellow HSP. I know what it's like to feel like things are too loud, too bright and just ... too much. In my work as a registered counsellor and mindful movement coach, I've supported myself and my clients to find ways to embrace their sensitivity that centre on self-compassion, nervous system regulation, self-awareness and, ultimately, self-love.
From mindfulness, mindful movement, joy seeking and a zillion and one practices in between, here you'll find space to be fully you - fully human - and the tools to navigate the tricky bits of having a highly sensitive nervous system.
I’m thrilled you’re here.

Ep 243: BE-ing self-caring vs DO-ing self-care
DO-ing self-care is the common approach to incorporating self-care into your life. But I'm proposing that BE-ing self-caring is actual the more useful approach.
To DO self-care, we have to carve out time to do things that we love. That's not a bad thing at all. But what happens when we don't have the time? What happens when life gets busy or life-y, as it's so prone to do?
That's where a relationship of self-caring comes into its own.
In this episode you will hear:
- The difference between DO-ing vs BE-ing self-care
- The relationship between BE-ing self-caring and the actions of self-care (because you'll still DO stuff, it's just not the foundation)
- The choice you need to make to set up this shift in relationship with yourself
- The impact being self-caring has on your relationship with yourself and your nervous system.
