Native American storytellers use the oral tradition to teach life lessons, tribal histories, and the nuance of languages. Such stories are an essential tool in passing knowledge from one generation to the next. Here we sit down with Gene Tagaban who joins us in studio for two hours of storytelling, song, and inspiration.

Gene Tagaban, “One Crazy Raven” is an influential storyteller, trainer, speaker, mentor, and performer. Gene is of the Takdeintaan clan, the Raven, Freshwater Sockeye clan from Hoonah, AK. He is the Child of the Wooshkeetaan clan, the Eagle, Shark clan from Juneau, AK. He is Cherokee, Tlingit, and Filipino.   Gene is a teller of stories that teach, entertain and heal. Through oratory, song, dance, movement and transformation Gene tells stories to audiences of all ages nationally and internationally. Gene shares traditional Native American stories as well as stories from his personal experience, family and historical events.
