STORIES BY CATHY
Listening is a learned behavior. Being a good listener is a skill that can help adults and children in all areas of their lives. Multi-age, high interest stories have been selected for anyone who likes a good story. I’ve been telling these stories at my husband’s adult care facility to help patients who are suffering from various forms of memory loss. A simple memory exercise, that can work for all of us, is to first listen to the story. Then retell the story in your own words using the 1, 2, 3 approach, beginning, middle and end. You can always listen to it again for better understanding. I am a teacher, and a storyteller. I come from a family of storytellers. Some of the stories that I share, were told to me by my mother and grandmothers. These stories cover all literary genres, and have been collected from all over the world.
