Do Something Today To Be Better For Tomorrow
Ever feel like you're pushing hard. You've got all the skills, all the knowledge, but something's holding you back. It's almost like an invisible hand on your shoulder. My name is Lachlan Stewart, and today we're going to dive into what that is and something that many people overlook. Most men are looking for more data, more strategies, the next workshop to attend in order to have that breakthrough, but quite often the one thing holding many of you back is what's going on up here. You see, today I was meeting with a gentleman, a highly talented individual, who has so much, I guess, opportunity and success waiting for him, but there was one thing that popped up, one pattern that I continue to see and something that I've experienced multiple times in my own life, and that was a limiting belief, the thoughts that he had going on up here. He was sharing, what he wanted to work towards and some of the limiting beliefs. When I asked him, I said, mate, what's stopped you achieving this? And he sat there for a moment. He said this is really hard. We're going deep early, but things like I don't feel like I'm worthy, what if I can't support my family? What if I do fail? The most important thing to realize is one common for so many of us, but two. When you become aware of that and you can acknowledge that, you can then begin the process of change, which is what I want to give you today the framework that I use, or the playbook, in order to help you go from where you are to break through those limiting beliefs and start building the life that you want to build. We're all wired to look outside us because quite often, when we're sold through marketing and you may even think this about this video, but I just want to give you a free solution, something that has worked well for me we have to find things outside of ourself in order to get a solution, when, quite often, all we need to do is give our little mind and our beliefs a little bit of a shake up to be able to be aware of the things that are no longer serving us and to start finding evidence around how we can reframe them to get the belief that we want in order to move forward to where we want to get to. And that's what we want to go through, and I want to give you the ACRA playbook today. So the framework goes a little something like this A is you got to acknowledge. C we need to challenge, r we need to reframe. And A we need action to solidify that new belief. So how do we actually do this? How do we shake BS approach? In order to be able to do that, if you have handy with you or if you have the opportunity, grab yourself a notepad out and you can write this down, or if you go into the link in the notes, there there will be a link to download this playbook for free and you can go through it in your own time.
Speaker 0:So let's dive into the acknowledgement First. As I was mentioning to my client that was not even a client, actually, it was a prospective client that the first thing we need to do is to be able to acknowledge those limiting beliefs. They have to be real. So the moment that we acknowledge them, we give power to them and they are staring us right in the face and quite often many of us may think to ourselves that's just lame, or I know I shouldn't believe that, but that's what keeps coming up for me, and it doesn't matter, in my opinion, whether you feel it's significant or not, if it's something that comes out of your mouth and there is a little bit of truth to it. Let's look at reframing it and finding evidence around, how you can shift that and what you need to reframe that to. So the moment that you can acknowledge it is such a powerful point.
Speaker 0:So think to yourself what are some of those beliefs that are holding you back? Things like I'm not good enough, I always fail. What if I can't do that? Well, nobody likes me. The list can go on and be so unique to you as an individual. So take a moment now to write down all of those things, and it doesn't matter how significant it feels. Just give yourself a list and you can look at them and then we can start going. Which ones are the real main ones that we need to work on today? That brings us onto the C in ACRA, which is the challenge. So once you've identified it and you've acknowledged it, now we need to go.
Speaker 0:When did I actually start believing this? Is there evidence or is it true? Or is it just something that when it's bouncing around in my head, it has more power than it really should? Is there any facts or is it just based on an old story that I've been telling myself for a long time? You've got to really challenge it and if you do have the pen and notepad in front of you, something you can do is, now that you've written down those limiting beliefs, you can just put another column next to it and go. What's the evidence? Or when did I first start to believe this? Do I believe this is true and you can start going through and start challenging it, which is a really powerful process. And it leads us to the next part, which is the reframe.
Speaker 0:Let's say, one of your limiting beliefs is I'm not worthy of success. You have challenged it, meaning there are moments in your life where, yeah, maybe you haven't been worthy of success because you haven't put in the work or you've quit too early, and therefore you go oh well, I always quit earlier, I'm lazy. But what we then need to go is are there other areas in your life where you have been worthy of success? You have put in the work, you have shown discipline, and we can now have evidence on both sides. What we then need to do is choose which side of the fence we want to look on, which one is going to move you closer to where you want to get to, and, to be honest, it's going to be the one that is evidence for the belief that you need to have, because what then happens next is we need to reframe it. So, rather than saying to myself, I'm not worthy of success, what would the opposite of that be? Well, a simple one is I am worthy of success. And then we lean on the evidence that proves that I am disciplined. I show up various other things that are in your life that you can go. Well, that is who I need to be, because then we need to action that so it brings us to the fourth point of ACRA, which is action.
Speaker 0:We've now got the reframe of the belief we need to have, but we need to have a way to continue to drill it into our mind, because our default response is the opposite side, which is I'm not worthy, and you're always going to dance between the two, and my experience and my belief is you're going to dance between the two, but it's how we fuel ourself and what we action that is going to give power to the one that's most important to you. So if the positive belief is the one that's going to move you closer to where you want to be, turn you into the man that you need to become, then we need to create evidence, and we need to act in a way that delivers that. So in the beginning, you could write down every morning. I am worthy of success, because we're conditioning our thought process. You could continue to look at the evidence that you wrote down that supports that belief, and you can go through and do this for all of these, and you might even take videos. There's so many ways and tools that you can implement to use that, and that's why I would recommend getting that free playbook and the link is there for you so that you can go through and you can do this for as many as you want.
Speaker 0:But the most important part, once you've acknowledged it, once you've challenged it, once you've reframed it, is to act on it, because, as I said at the beginning of this, many of you are just chasing more information, more strategies, more, more, more, more, more, more more, when there's already enough inside of you that you just need to reframe, maybe even remove, in order to get what you want and get your head out of the way so that you can continue to build towards the life that you want. If you need help with that, once again, you can always reach out to me. You can drop your comments below. I'm always going to answer them or reach out to me on Instagram. So that's the ACRA framework and really, in a nutshell, it is quite simple. It's about acknowledging the challenge that's in front of you and just hitting it from a different perspective. That's going to give you the view to build the life that you want and to finish up, something that's really important for you to consider Every solution that you find or every problem that you solve is going to create a new problem.
Speaker 0:Where you really need to put the work in is becoming the person who can handle those next challenges. You're never going to avoid challenges. You're never going to avoid adversity. It's part of the progress or part of the price of growth and creating the life that you want to live. What you need to do is shift the beliefs, so move a lot of those, or reframe a lot of those limiting beliefs into powerful beliefs, beliefs where you have certainty in yourself to be able to deal with the adversity that's coming your way or pressures that are coming your way in creating what you want. That is one of the most important things that you need to focus on, which is why it is such a good process to develop is reframing limiting beliefs and leave you with this as well.
Speaker 0:Limiting beliefs are like building muscle you have to continue to put the reps in.
Speaker 0:Just because you identify it, you challenge it, you reframe it and you act it once doesn't mean you can't regress back. You need to continually put in the work and condition your mind, find evidence around those beliefs and act in the way that or in accordance with the version of yourself that is going to get results that you're looking for so seriously. If you've watched this long, I'm super pumped for you and I look forward to hopefully connecting at some point in the future. But get that free playbook. It's going to be available for you there. You can follow me on socials. I really do hope it gives you a different framework, a simple framework where you can challenge those limiting beliefs and get moving in the direction to creating the results that you want. I don't want to see more and more men who have incredible potential holding themselves back because of what's in here and they just are looking for different strategies or different support in order to do that, when everything that you have inside is going to be enough to move you towards where you.
