On this episode of GET TO KNOW YOU, we discuss  another thought-provoking topic; ‘How can your mental state rise during extreme conditions?’. This week, I’ll be sitting down with Murray Turner. He is  an Ex Special Forces 2nd Commando Regiment Sergeant, he spent 4 years in the Australian regular Army and then a further 15 years in the 2nd Commando Regiment. He has just returned from Contract work in the UAE where he instructed at one of their Special Forces units for 4.5 years. He grew up in Broken Hill and had a country life upbringing, chasing Adrenaline early on Murray began flying at 16 years of age and then joined the NSW Police at 18. After a few years in the Police Force and understanding there was quite a bit of paperwork and little actual ‘Action’ he departed and joined the Australian Army. Shortly after Rwanda and Somalia, after a further few years in the Regular Army Murray completed selection and joined the Australian Regular Commando unit where he spent 5 years performing Counter Terrorism duties and then rotating through East Timor and Afghanistan. Murray has also performed body guard roles for celebrities and now resides back in the country South of Sydney. Tune in as we discuss; What attributes are necessary to push past your believed limits? How are people trained for special forces? What mental and physical state is necessary to join special forces? How being put in extreme conditions expands your growth? And more.Stay tuned to the end of the episode to find out how you can join the conversation on the Get To Know You Cafe.
