Resiliency Theory
Have you ever wondered if there is a resiliency quotient? Are resiliency and values directly correlated and do they impact each other? In the wake of challenge and adversity, does resiliency give us the strength to show up as our best self? How do we revisit our values and check-in with them? Join me as I meet with different friends, peers and leaders and we discuss their values, resiliency, and leadership. Over the course of many conversations, I hope to answer my burning question of whether there is a set of values that make one person more resilient than another and can they be taught.
Resiliency Theory
Episode 8: Welcome Ryan Schmid
During episode eight, I interviewed Ryan Schmid, President and CEO of Vera Whole Health, my friend, and one of the most authentic and humble leaders I know. We discussed values, resiliency, and leadership. He defines his values as hard work, problem solving (overcoming obstacles), humility (to be humble – the opposite of entitlement), gratitude, and optimism. Our conversation about self-awareness and mindfulness was so meaningful - and it is such a relevant topic as we all continue to navigate COVID, remote working and learning, social unrest, and such a challenging political season. I look forward to exploring this topic in more depth and how that supports my resiliency theory. Listen in to find out how Ryan defines his ‘Resiliency Quotient’.
