Welcome to Scatter Shot Symphony, the music of Peter Link. That's me. Hey y'all, this week being the 50th episode of this podcast, I prefer to let the music do the talking. However, if you need to know more about me, please visit Wikipedia.com or Peter Link. This episode is entitled War and Peace. On this most special occasion, our 50th episode, I'm gonna also let the people do the talking beyond the music. People who are in the know. Gratefully, I never experienced war except in the movies. That was enough. The Vietnam War was popular when I was in my twenties and draft eligible. I watched it on the six o'clock news. That's all it took. I decided not to go and became a draft dodger. Ernest Hemingway spoke for me. I quote him. They wrote in the old days that it is sweet and fitting to die for one's country. But in modern war, there is nothing sweet nor fitting in your dying. You will die like a dog for no good reason. And Mahatma Gandhi, I am prepared to die. But there is no cause for which I am prepared to kill. Back in nineteen sixty-seven, the two gentlemen who created the musical hair with a smile. It is youth that must fight and die. And it is youth who must inherit the tribulation, the sorrow, and the triumph that are the aftermath of war. Julia waited what peace looks like.
