Elkeen wat glo dat Jesus die Christus is, is uit God gebore; en elkeen wat die Vader liefhet, het ook die een lief wat uit Hom gebore is. Hieraan weet ons dat ons die kinders van God liefhet: wanneer ons God liefhet en sy gebooie bewaar. Want dit is die liefde tot God, dat ons sy gebooie bewaar; en sy gebooie is nie swaar nie.
