Have you ever reached that point, or maybe you are there today when you knew it was time to move on from a job, but you didn't quite know how to do it without damaging your personal brand. Well, welcome back to Unarmored Talk Pro Tips. I'm your host, Mario P Fields. And in previous episodes, we've talked about personal branding, negotiating your first job offer and more. So if you if you have not watched those previous episodes, please check them out. Well, today's episode comes from a great question someone um asked me, and I'm thankful for it because it's something many of us have faced or will face in the future. When is it time to move on? So here's why I believe you should never quit but resign and resign with purpose. Your personal brand, it isn't just about how you show up, it's about how you move on. Because people may forget why you left, but they will never forget for the most part how you left. So here are three ways that you can prepare before you resign. Okay. Number one, reflect before you react. Ask yourself, am I leaving to grow or just to get away? You know, because growth-based decisions build credibility and emotional ones can damage it. And I've been guilty of that, you know, and I've reflected. So, yeah, that was an emotional-based decision to leave. Number two, plan your transition. Don't just step off. Make sure you guys prepare. Update your resume, document your achievements, um, and definitely secure your next opportunity the best way you can before you resign. And then the third one, leave with integrity and gratitude. No matter what the situation is, be grateful. Always exit with professionalism. Thank the people who helped you, even the ones you believe who hurt you. Thank them anyway. And even if things didn't end perfectly, I've had many situations like that where I left and uh let's just say I left professionally. So quitting says I'm done, but resigning says I'm ready. I'm ready for the next opportunity. Maybe I'm ready for another opportunity with that company or in that job in the future. You never know. Walking away from a job doesn't mean giving up, it means growing up. If this message helped you, please share it with someone who might be thinking about leaving their job or career path and keep showing up with purpose, professionalism, and pride. I hope this was helpful. Until next time, I will continue to pray for you, the listeners and viewers, your family, friends, and all living beings around you. Take care.
