[00:00:00] Hi, my beautiful midlifers. I want to talk to you about something before we get into our next episode. A big change is coming. Yep. New name, new look, the next chapter of this show. It's coming, and I'm so excited about it. But here's what I've learned about myself over the course of building this show. I do my best work when I'm set up properly, when the foundation is solid, when I'm not scrambling to catch up with myself, as I found myself doing during the four years of this show.

[00:00:42] And right now, I need a little more time to get that foundation right before I step fully into the next chapter. So let me tell you how I got here, because the story matters, and because some of you have been with me long enough [00:01:00] to have watched this happen in real time. When I first started this podcast, my goal was to pay it forward to millennials, which is why it was called Mama's Motivational Messages.

[00:01:15] I saw myself as the mama providing inspiration and encouragement to a younger generation.

[00:01:23] But in my ongoing research to provide content of real value, I realized pretty quickly that I didn't actually know millennials well enough to speak to them the way they needed. So I pivoted. I started aiming at stressed-out Gen X women. Women juggling careers, teenagers, and aging parents all at once.

[00:01:50] But I never changed the name of the show until now.

[00:01:56] Because here's what's true: Gen X women in that season of life, they're midlifers. They're empty nesters. They're women standing at exactly that crossroad where everything they've been holding together is shifting at once.

[00:02:15] Women I could relate to, not from research, but from having already walked in this exact stretch of road myself. And that realization that this was always my sweet spot, always my people, gave this show its new name. Mama's Motivational Messages is becoming The Unfinished Glow because, my beautiful midlifers, your GLOW is not gone. It has never been gone. It is simply unfinished, and this show is where we tend [00:03:00] your glow together. I will share much more about what the name means in a future episode. But I wanted you to hear about the change right here from me. Here's what I also want you to know. I have already been where you are. I have navigated exactly what many of you are just starting to navigate.

[00:03:28] The identity questions, the quiet house, the wondering what comes next after decades of putting everyone else first. And that is what makes me the right person to walk beside you here. Not as a peer figuring it out in real time, but as someone a few steps further down the path, turning around and reaching a hand back.
