22 | Tom (Nature) Barton | Cultivating Your Own Living Myth

Rande Moss / Tom (Nature) Barton Season 1 Episode 22
CULTIVATING YOUR OWN LIVING MYTH

This is one of these these rock-bottom, heroes journey tales that's just extraordinary. Barely into his twenties, Tom (also known as Nature) lost a sibling, his serious relationship ended, and he went on a quest to find out what more Life had to offer. From being homeless to becoming a self-ordained monk to ending up so sick he was bedridden and so much in between, we talk about the intense search for meaning.

One of the biggest themes that I loved in this talk was about honoring yourself and honoring life by trusting both. Always just taking YOUR personal next right step. I talk a lot on this podcast about extreme diets and cleanses and finding our way back to our own personal equilibrium, wherever that may be - and we took that idea and blew it up in this conversation. We talked about how what might look extreme to most people could be just your natural next step. And on the other side - it's so often celebrated when we "go big!" or "overhaul our lifestyle" or "have a lot of willpower"...and this isn't that either. It's about an inside-out approach rather than an outside in approach.

Now let's move into our conversation where we're talking essentially about my favorite topic - freedom. Or what we're calling today - cultivating your own living myth.
