Your Efforts May Backfire
The background sound in this audio is the Vyaas River flowing in the Himalayas. That river continues to flow with its rapids and create a loud sound without your doing anything. In the same way, the true Pure Consciousness that you are continues to flow.
When one begins the practice of meditation and Self-Realization the same mechanism of the mind may believe it has to do the practice like you have done everything else in your life. When the practices are done with dooership, or even with the sense that I am not the doorer, then there is still the dooership of not being the doer. These efforts may not reveal the truth of the Self. The truth of the Self is when you are truly non-doer or when you are just watching and knowing that the space of Self is always there. The highest desire is that you just rest in your own Being. That requires you to just be with that Being that you are without using the same mechanism of the mind and body that you have used for everything else in your life.
