Hey there, rebellious healers. In today's episode, we're going to address something that keeps so many of you stuck: fearing your symptoms. You may think that symptoms like pain, digestive issues, fatigue, skin issues, or inflammation, or whatever you're experiencing are signs that something is wrong with you. But here's the truth. Your symptoms are trying to heal you. And when you fear them, you interrupt that process. By the end of this episode, you'll understand why your fear of symptoms is actually stopping you from healing and what you need to do about it. Welcome back to the Rebellious Healer Podcast, where we don't just talk about healing, we take action. This podcast is for women who are done letting their symptoms control them. It's time to ditch the fear, understand the messages, and take control of your health and healing. So let's dive right in. First, let's start with something crucial that most people don't realize. Fear is what keeps your body in survival mode. Your body is designed to keep you alive. It's constantly scanning for danger, and when it perceives a threat, whether it's a physical, emotional, or mental stressor, your body goes into what we call survival mode. When you're in survival mode, your body's resources go towards survival, not healing. This is great if you're facing a life or death situation, but chronic stress and fear over your chronic symptoms keeps you stuck in this state. Healing only happens when your body feels safe, when it's in rest and repair mode. But here's the catch: when you fear your symptoms, you keep sending the message to your body that it's not safe to heal. That's why healing can feel impossible when you're constantly in a state of fear. So if you're constantly fearing your symptoms, you're stuck in survival mode. Your body can't heal when you're in that response. Now let's talk about where this fear comes from, because it's really not your fault. You've been conditioned from a young age to believe that symptoms are a sign of something wrong, something broken. This belief is so deeply ingrained into our subconscious minds. From childhood, you most likely were taught that symptoms are problems to fix. A fever, a sore throat, a cough. What do you do? You took something to stop it, whether it was more natural or an over-the-counter drug. But your body was already working to heal itself when you were experiencing those symptoms. You were never taught that symptoms are your body's way of adapting, protecting, and healing. This is where the problem lies. We've been conditioned to fear our symptoms. And when we're stuck in that fear, we can't move forward. Fear keeps us looking for the next quick fix or solution, which just keeps us stuck in the cycle of symptom chasing. But here's the truth: your symptoms are not a threat. They are your body's messages. But when you listen to them with understanding and trust, healing becomes possible. Now let's address a critical distinction that many of you may be confused about, at least this is what I where I see confusion, is the difference between acute versus chronic symptoms. Acute symptoms are short-term and they often go away in a short period of time. It could be a day or two, or it could be up to a month or two, depending on the situation, the symptom, and other factors. Acute symptoms are going to be things like a pimple that goes away, bone that's broken, you have a cut, or you have what people call the flu, you know, for a couple of weeks. Those are acute conditions. The only time they will become chronic is if those things don't heal or don't go away. And so chronic symptoms are different. We have to look at them differently. They are your body's way of signaling that something deeper is blocking healing. Chronic symptoms are the ones that either never go away or they come and go all the time and they don't consistently stay away. These symptoms don't go away easily because there's an underlying issue that hasn't been addressed. Chronic symptoms are signals that the body is stuck in what we call a hanging healing. The healing is hanging around. The body wants and knows how to heal, but it's getting a message that it's not safe to because there is something unresolved. Fear, unresolved situations or subconscious beliefs that are interfering with the body's natural ability to repair itself. So if you're experiencing chronic symptoms, it's not about ignoring them and go, oh, my body's healing. Well, first of all, that's okay to be saying, but know that if you do nothing for a chronic condition besides shift the fact that your body is now healing, most likely it's not going to go away because there's going to be other patterns connected to it. Now, there are some people that say, I just stopped focusing on my symptoms so much and just started living and trusting my body, and my symptoms went away. That can happen sometimes, but I'm not going to say that that is 100% going to happen. It's going to help just shifting your beliefs about your body are going to dramatically change how your body feels. That's 100% true. But we also have to be looking at we are not ignoring your chronic symptoms and just saying my body's healing and then, you know, ignoring addressing that for months upon months. We need to understand why your body isn't healing and why it's hanging around and why it feels unsafe and addressing the underlying messages that are blocking the body from completing that healing process. This is the work that needs to be done in the case of chronic conditions. It's not about doing nothing, it's about doing the right work. The right work is understanding why your symptoms are there in the first place and what your body is trying to tell you. When you fear your symptoms, it goes hand in hand with needing to control them. You might obsessively check your symptoms, try another protocol, eliminate more food, try this or that, whatever it is. But here's the kicker: this endless cycle of trying to fix your symptoms only reinforces the fear. The reason you're still stuck is that fear keeps you in a state of survival. And survival doesn't allow healing. Every time you react to your symptoms out of fear, you're telling your body that it's still unsafe. And every time you think by fearing them, you're controlling them and you're actually thinking that's improving it, you're causing that loop to get even more strong in your brain. The real work is learning how to shift from fear to trust. And when you trust your body, you'll stop needing to control it. You stop chasing fixes and start allowing your body to do the work that it's already trying to do. Now let me tell you what I typically see from clients when they first come into our work. They want to get straight to addressing their symptoms. They want them to go away and they think that if they just focus on the symptoms, the healing will happen. But here's the truth: without addressing the fear of your body first, working on the targeted patterns connected to your symptoms is pointless. If you don't first understand the biological reasons behind your symptoms and shift your mindset to one of trust, you'll keep chasing fixes without getting lasting results. I often tell our students, if focusing on your symptoms was the solution, you wouldn't be here. You wouldn't be continuing to look for answers because that's what you've been doing for years is focusing on your symptoms, focusing on fixing. So we have to shift to something else to get results. When you focus on understanding your body first, when you take the time to build a solid foundation with this understanding, you will naturally stop fearing your body. And that in itself will calm your mind and body enough to create the right environment to dive into the deeper work, the work that actually targets the patterns that are holding your symptoms in place. So, what are your chronic symptoms really telling you? Well, chronic symptoms are not a sign of failure. They are not a sign that you need to detox or change your diet one more time or try cold plunging. They are signs that your body is still adapting to something. They're your body's way of saying, I'm trying to heal, but I need you to feel safe. Your body is doing the best it can with the information it has. If your symptoms are chronic, it means that there is a message of threat or not feeling safe still interrupting the healing process. So let me say it again. Your body's not broken. Chronic symptoms mean that your body is adapting to something. And it's time to figure out what that something is. This is where the real healing begins by addressing the threat that your body perceives and helping it feel safe enough to finish the healing process. And the key to healing is the subconscious mind. 100%. We've seen it over the last seven years. We don't do any other work in our program besides subconscious work, and people leave completely transformed. That is evidence right there that we don't need to be doing all this other stuff. That the focus just on the subconscious mind does get you the results. It's because the subconscious is the source of your fear, your beliefs, and your reactions. It's the commander-in-chief sending messages to your body. Most of the time, the messages we are sending to our bodies are unconscious. We don't even realize that our beliefs are creating the very symptoms we're trying to avoid. So rewiring your subconscious to trust your body instead of fearing it is not an overnight process. You've been wired to think this way, possibly your entire life. So rewiring that deeply ingrained fear requires repetition, persistence, in finding evidence to support your new beliefs. Just hearing about it today, even if it resonates deeply with you, is only planting the seeds. But it's not enough to make lasting change. You have to get your subconscious on board. We spend up to two weeks doing this with our students in our programs before getting to the symptom work. This is the first step to your healing. This isn't a quick fix, but it's the first place to start. It's a process that takes consistent effort for a couple of weeks. And once that's done, then you can dive into addressing your symptoms and identifying the patterns connected to it. One of the things I recommend is to find evidence every day to build proof that your body is working perfectly and that it is on your side. Each day, you'll look for small moments where your body is showing you that it's adapting, healing, and supporting you. Maybe it's watching a cut that you got on your finger and how day by day it's healing without you having to do anything. Or you have a pimple and within a day or two it's gone after you don't even put anything on it. Or it can be as simple as that you poop today. These are all things that we take for granted that our body does for us, and we're choosing to focus on what we think is not working. The more you find this evidence, the more your subconscious will start to shift. This daily practice helps you to retrain your mind and shift your focus away from fearing your body to trusting it and being in awe of its incredible ability to heal. It's all about building that trust and reinforcing the belief that your body is not working against you, it's working for you. I want you to lead this episode with one powerful realization. Your body is not broken. It is trying to heal, and your symptoms are a part of that healing process. But fear keeps you stuck. And if you've been stuck in the cycle of hearing your symptoms and chasing fixes, it's time to do the real work. It's not about doing nothing, it's about addressing the deep-rooted fears that are preventing your body from healing. Thank you for listening to today's episode. If this resonated with you, I want you to take action. Don't just listen. Apply what you've learned. Stop fearing your symptoms and start doing the right work to heal. Until next time, remember, your body is speaking. It's time to listen.
