Speaker 2:Stephanie, and we're the owners of a how athletics coaching business built on our belief that clients aren't just a dollar sign and they're human. Now on to the episode.
Speaker 1:What's going on everyone and welcome back. To Say it Out Loud, it's been a little hot minute. We've been hella busy, so let us catch you up on everything that we've been doing and then we'll hop into this very interesting episode, and we think it's very important that we should do more of this.
Speaker 1:I don't even know why I'm laughing because you always say all the episodes are important, every episode we do is important so this one is, uh, even more important, but yeah, so we started going to a weekly networking group and we have met some pretty cool entrepreneurs and even started a partnership with a gym. So we've been doing that. On the side, we also increased our weekly mentorship calls to two mentorship calls now. So you know, the more information that we can get, the more we can help our clients, which is you guys. So we've been doing that. So that's been keeping us busy. We also recently had business mentorship and we're restarting that.
Speaker 1:So our days will be even longer but you know you gotta build, build, keep building. So that's what we're working on to make our services better for you guys. And then we've been making hella gains in the gym. Let me tell you uh, I hit 390 on bench press. I know it's pretty impressive, but you hit 395 too.
Speaker 2:I didn't hit 395.
Speaker 1:Yes, you did. No, I didn't. I couldn't do 395 today.
Speaker 2:You couldn't before.
Speaker 1:Yes no listen, she doesn't remember. I did 390. I think I would know if I hit the other. Uh, my all-time goal obviously is 405 and I'm running around the corner now. So that's. I'm a female natural just doing that out there, and I recently got back into squatting after I don't know like almost four years almost four years and not being able to squat.
Speaker 1:I'm able to squat again, so that's also pretty exciting. It was pretty depressing for a time there that I couldn't do squat or deadlift, but I'm going to do both of those. And she just hit a PR.
Speaker 1:Yesterday it's been 285 on squat, so I'm just saying bro and she hit 380 on deadlifts and I'm just saying we're killing it. We're killing over here with strength, so y'all try to get stronger. We the coaches for you. Outside of that, we the coaches for you, period. But yeah, so we're definitely making some things happen on our end and outside of that, everything's been the same. We went to pr again, so so that was April. Yeah, that was a great vacation. Definitely needed that Got tan Went to St.
Speaker 1:Thomas, I only recommend you go there if you got hella money. We did not have hella money.
Speaker 2:Or just go.
Speaker 1:Honestly, yeah, we lived a hard way. You want a gallon of water $4. Yeah, you want to go to a restaurant and eat. One person, minimum $50.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's crazy.
Speaker 1:Yeah, they're not playing out there.
Speaker 2:They're getting all the inflation.
Speaker 1:Yeah, so just go out there for a day See it. Go to the beaches. Yeah, the beaches are crazy bro.
Speaker 2:Yeah, they're pretty.
Speaker 1:Crazy. Everybody's, everybody's like oh, florida, florida, florida, florida ain't got nothing. I lived in Florida for 7 years. Florida ain't got nothing on St Thomas, or Puerto Rico for that matter. But yeah, other than that man, we've been doing the same old, same old on a cut on a cut.
Speaker 1:Yeah, we cut out cheat days currently cutting, so we'll see how that goes. I'm probably gonna try to get down to like 205, maybe 200, 224 right now. So yeah, and then we'll go from there. Whatever happens happens Now. What you're actually here for. You don't care about our lives. What you're here for is the episode. So today, first of all, question of the day what you're actually here for. You don't care about our lives. What you're here for is the episode. So today, first of all, question of the day.
Speaker 1:Have you ever celebrated something and it just made you extremely happy to know that you accomplished something that you didn't think you could do? Probably right, I'm telling you, it feels great. Let me give you an example of a time that I feel great after accomplishing something. When we were in Georgia, I had this grand idea to build a patio. Is that considering an accomplishment? Yes, let me tell you. Okay, first of all, I had no idea what I was doing. I'm just youtubing, diy, talking to people out, those trying to figure out how to build this patio I'm pretty sure it's diy dy diy, dy, dy, whatever you want to call it.
Speaker 1:I'm out here trying to do the thing right. So I'm out in the backyard, bro, just me. Kratos and achilles, we're running around fighting each other and I'm just digging okay, I dug too deep, I dug six inches we uh found out later, all the way later, that he dug too deep.
Speaker 1:Yeah we put so much money into this patio. It was outrageous, bro. I'm talking about, I'm taking out loans from a firm for uh, loans from a firm for uh paper gravel, yeah, and we're dumping it and this is not filling up. I'm like, yeah, we have to, or I have to. And so, to correct my mistake, I was going to use thinner pavers, so I had to get thicker pavers and we got these big, thick pavers, heavy as a mother, freaking bro, and I'm just out there putting them down one at a time. Just keep going, one at a time, one at a time, one at a time got everything laid out and we were just eyeballing everything.
Speaker 1:So if you walk on this, I hope you have mobile ankles, because you're snapping your ankles up. If you want to have that, not even at all, but we gotta but we got done, yeah, okay, and I felt my knee.
Speaker 2:It took like a whole to get done.
Speaker 1:I was promoting that mother freaker. But it got done. And when I finally finished it, I just looked. I was like, damn, I actually did this, like no matter how bad it was, like I actually did it. And now I know what I'm doing.
Speaker 1:Okay, first of all, you don't dig six inches for a patio. Okay, you only need two to three inches. And now I know what I'm doing. So if I want to go to the patio, okay, well, don't hire. Don't hire me, but if you want help with your patio, I will come help you.
Speaker 1:But if I do it again, I know what I'm doing now. So that's what I learned. I learned from my mistakes. So now, if I want to do a patio, I can do it 10 times better, because these people who were afraid to take their first steps have faith in us, took those first steps and realized they were capable of more than what they thought they were. And they got these wins, which is our guidance. Remember, these client wins are their wins. They did it, we just guided them. They did the hard work, they put it in, and so that's what we're going to talk about today. So she's going to off with uh one, then I'm gonna do one, and we're gonna go back and forth. She has way more than me, but we're gonna go back and forth okay, I'll start with alex.
Speaker 2:Um, she came to me with like chronic weight gain and like weight loss resistance and she's frustrated because she's diagnosed with ibs. Quote unquote ibs, ibs, ibs doesn't exist, just letting that, letting you know that. And she was constantly bloating, having bowel issues, periods were miserable, cramps were terrible and despite like working out and eating healthy and stuff, like she didn't understand what was going on, whatever. So we did testing. We't understand what was going on, whatever. So we did testing, we figured out what was going on and after a little bit over seven months we actually lost almost over 20 pounds, got her to heal her gut, so no longer has IBS and her periods were a lot better. So it's something like she was on the fence for because of the prices and everything, but I mean it paid off because she's actually she's actually fixed and that's and that's the key here.
Speaker 1:People are always hesitant because of the price, but you're paying for your own health, which, at the end of the day, is going to make you happier if you wake up, not miserable.
Speaker 2:So in the long run it's a win-win and cheaper if you opt out from not hiring like a cheaper coach.
Speaker 1:That's just going to drive you out or you know your medical bills are adding up or whatever the case may be, you're going to the dividend that you pay into yourself, are going to pay back in the long run because you're going to feel better and you're going to be happier, and and then you can pass that forward onto you know, your kids or your brothers. But hey, you guys want to stop feeling miserable. I know a person and then they get help and everybody's happier and that's how you spread it. But so that's hers. Uh, let me, let me do one. So I just. We actually met this guy at the networking group and his name is Zach. Crazy, crazy backstory. I can't give you the full backstory because it's too long, but he was in a cult, okay he was raised in a cult.
Speaker 1:Yeah, he was raised in a cult, like an actual full-blown cult. The dad was a leader, crazy right. So you know drugs, sex, whatever, whatever goes on in the cults. You know he was exposed to it and had it done to him and then he turned his whole life around and now he's a realtor. So we were having a conversation with him. He's like you know, I really just want to optimize my health because I'm tired of just feeling like crap. I was like, ok, perfect. And he's like let me try your services and let's see how it works out for me. And he's only been a client for less than three months and he sent me a text and he's like. He's like I'm feeling great overall, healthiest I've ever been in my life Less than three months. That's what we do with our patented 4F process. That's why we run a process. You go through the process, we set up the protocol, then you get texts like that Healthiest I've ever been in my entire life.
Speaker 1:That's crazy to me To have to be able to get somebody there and and that amount of time to help them, you know, switch their habits around. Granted, he has a go-getter, so you know he followed things, what he needed to do, and he got there and he got the results quick, and that's what we say. People ask us all the time. You know, how long does it take? Well, it's up to you. You know, if you follow the protocol, then you're going to get there faster than somebody who falls off and all.
Speaker 2:So you know. So he got there and now we hooked him up Healthy has ever been in his entire life, yeah. So another one was Gabby Um. She came to me. She was actually working with a cheaper coach and, despite the coach like putting her on cardio, low calories, all the workouts et cetera, she wasn't losing weight and she was actually looking like almost like she was nine months pregnant every night and she felt uncomfortable, especially cause she was in the military. So she's kind of hesitant about prices, of course, rank and everything like that. But she took the jump, she joined us and we were able to actually get labs done, figure out what was going on, and she now not only lost over 10 body fat, she's stronger at the gym, she doesn't look pregnant, she's actually like her stomach is flat, even at night, even before her period, and she's not cramping. She has regular periods. She feels better, especially like being security forces. That's something that's very important um, especially in the military.
Speaker 2:So she's actually like felt so much better than all the months that she spent on like a cheaper coach and couldn't like figure out what was going on with her body yeah, that's that's.
Speaker 1:This is an important takeaway from paying a cheaper price is they don't have as many tools that we have, yeah, in the toolbox. Okay, like I said earlier in the beginning of the podcast, we do two mentorship calls weekly. That's what people who do this at a higher level than us with collegiate athletes, celebrities and things among that helping them, get fixed. That's where we're getting our information from, and then we pass it forward to you guys. So that's where all our money goes. We put all our money into learning more for you guys.
Speaker 1:I got another one client, kobe, also in the military, and they have their wedding coming up and he's like hey, you know, I'm going to be honest with you, I just really want to lose weight so I can fit into my, my tux better. And a big thing that people come to us is to lose weight, which I don't understand anymore, because some people just don't feel comfortable in their body and it's not a big deal. But we like to ask people you know, okay, outside of your weight goal, let's have some other goals along the way. So when you hit your weight goal, you're not just lost.
Speaker 1:So you know, he's going about his day in the gym and he's only been with me for no, he's been with you for about a month now and he had a guy come up to him he said hey bro, what are you doing? He's like you're looking extra lean lately, like are you in the cut or something? He's like yeah, I am actually. He's like my coach hooked me up with a sustainable meal plan. I felt like I could actually eat the meal plan and not have to worry about falling off of it. And he's like yeah, so I'm just doing that and getting ready for my wedding.
Speaker 1:It's like, bro, it's just crazy. And that's when you know that you are actually putting in the work. When other people notice because he's been going to the same gym, yeah, and like since he's been at that base and now people are coming up to him because they actually notice the change, it's because he sticks to the protocol. If you stick to it, you'll see the change, and if you don't, then we can shift fire when times need to be. But, like I said once again, he's, he's driven, he's oriented and he wants to look good for his wedding. So he's doing everything he needs to do to get there. And you get texts like that. You know guy came up to me. He said man, I look good. I was like that's great, bro. What more could you ask for? That's what you want, right?
Speaker 2:yeah. So another client, uh, carrie. She came to me because she was struggling with her weight and she, she gained almost over 30 pounds. She got covid long haul covid like it just couldn't, she couldn't get better. She had anxiety, depression, gut issues, period issues, like you name it. She was just struggling and when we did a test like we, we were able to identify like what was going on with her gut and why her immune system was overacting so much that she, she wasn't getting better from covid and over almost over nine months she was able to lose all 30 pounds.
Speaker 2:Um, she didn't really need like anxiety, depression, events whatsoever. Her gut was actually stable, she wasn't bloating at all. She actually felt better daily. She didn't have any long-haul issues of covid issues anymore. Like her immune system was actually like healthy, which which was something that she thought she was just going to struggle with COVID for like the rest of her life. So I mean, that's something that's like so important, because I feel like a lot of people just get so depressed by how they're feeling, but also because like they're just not getting any answers and they're not feeling better whatsoever and they just push medication and nothing is helping. So it's like amazing to see like someone not needing medication, like healing naturally yeah, that is one of the.
Speaker 1:that's one of the coolest things, man, like I don't know what it is about being like natural healing remedies that instead of just you know, try to take a quick wave and get medication from the doctor, it's like, but you just, yeah, it's going to take a little bit longer, but you're going to feel so much better afterwards instead of having to deal with the side effects of medication that could compile onto your already issue. Just, I get it nine months, but, like, in nine months you can feel absolutely amazing or you can still feel like absolute trash. I mean, which nine-month version do you want? Yeah, and she wanted to feel amazing and then she got it. Now, this client, mark, this guy, him and I had some friction in the beginning and he's stubborn, he's older, he was 71 and what is 71 yeah 71, and because, uh, louise was 16, 71 and she actually had his nephew, nephew, niece, yeah Alex, yeah Alex, and she recommended him to us.
Speaker 1:And this guy's super busy. He's a tour guide and he travels to different countries and does tours, so he's gone two months out for for each trip, comes home, rest two months out again, and he's also one of the people that likes to research stuff out on his own and make decisions based off of whatever the evidence is out there. So, a lot of the protocols that we put forth he had, he questioned them, which is fine, question away. And you know I gave him the answers. We showed him the studies or whatever he needed information wise, to get things going. And so he's following the flush and we got the workout plan set up for him and he wanted him. He wanted a meal plan, so he set up a meal plan, so we had everything in place.
Speaker 1:And he's very impatient when he doesn't see the changes immediately and he wants to swap things out when things aren't working. And I said, hey, listen, I understand that you're not seeing the change that you want immediately, but I said this process takes time. Everybody's body is different, so I can't give you a timeline on specifically how long it's going to take for your body to adjust to this, because I don't know how much damage you've done to your body over the years, so I can't. Yeah.
Speaker 1:Yeah, obviously you know alcohol and things outside of nature over over the years but I can't tell you but what I can't tell you is, if you just stick it out long enough, then you will see the change. Just give it time and we got. His lab was not labs.
Speaker 2:Dust test and GI map.
Speaker 1:Yeah, dust test and GI map back because he didn't believe that he had an actual issue and he needs to see data to put his mind at rest. So he got his GI map back and it showed that he had a overgrowth. So, sibo, that's easier for you to understand, he had it. I said, look, this is why you're not seeing the change. So then we implemented a gut protocol and once we implemented the gut protocol, I started killing off the bacteria.
Speaker 1:He sent me a text and he's like it's crazy, because doctors could not figure out why I couldn't lose weight but you did. And then from there he wanted to lose. He wanted to get below 170 pounds. He started with me at 183. And he started to see the scale going down. He said, before I leave on my trip, I want to get below 170. I said, okay, just stick to it.
Speaker 1:And then he sent me a text before he left 165 was his weight. And this is why we say, guys, I understand that it can be daunting because you're not seeing the change that you want as fast as you want, but if you just stick it out long enough, bro, it's going to happen. Just keep doing it and we will make the changes on the back end to make sure you get to where you want to be. But the issue is and this is some of the issues that we ran into with him you know, if you eat off the plant, if you eat something, you're not supposed to Drink alcohol. He said I went to a wine tasting, have wine. If you do these things, it pushes the timeline back.
Speaker 1:It sets the timeline back. I don't even know, I don't know how to stress it, enough to you. But that's why I tell everybody this process can go as fast as you want it to not me, as fast as you want it to if, because the gut, depending on how bad the infection is, you know, two months, three months. But if you keep eating off the plan and you keep doing these nuts and you just keep pushing the timeline back, yeah, and then you cause your inflammation to go up, so now you get watery, so now you gain weight instead of losing weight. So it's like, guys, just, please, just listen to us when we tell you just stick to the process. We, we have it literally laid out perfectly for you, yeah so last one, at least this is different age range.
Speaker 2:So Jessica came to me during menopause right, and when she came to me she's a nurse she was on over 20 medications for like literally everything and she was losing weight. She was working on consistently doing cardio, eating healthy, healthy. Like just nothing was working. So we got her to do actual testing, which doctors weren't really running because they just put her on medication or medication based on symptoms, which is absolutely insane to me and um. In pretty much like nine, 10 months she was actually able to lose over 40 pounds but also come off of pretty much almost all of her medication. I believe she's only on two medication right now which she technically has to have because of her heart, um, but everything else she was actually able to come off and she feels better. She lost weight, she doesn't have gut issues as much Like that's.
Speaker 2:That's a huge thing versus being on a laundry list of medication and not feeling any better. It just keeps putting you on more and more and more, especially when you're on menopause, which is very, very sensitive for a female, because your hormones aren't working correctly, of course, and then your immune system is overactive because your hormones aren't working correctly and like a lot of doctors don't really know how to deal with that. They just keep adding more medication based on your symptoms. So like she just kept gaining weight no matter what she was doing at the gym, which is frustrating. So like it's awesome to see like one like the medications are definitely like not helping her it was actually making it worse, and seeing her come off of it and actually help, that's huge. But also like actually her was actually making it worse and seeing her come off of it and actually help, that's that's huge. But also like actually heal even though you're in menopause. That's something a lot of women don't feel like they can do yeah, it's, it's an.
Speaker 1:It's unfortunate because I've said this before but my dad has stage four kidney disease and he only has one kidney and I've seen the amount of medication he has to take. It's like freaking up 10 different medications that he has to take and unfortunately he's obese. He's 280 pounds and you know his freaking uh, ankles swell up and stuff in his room is upstairs and so sometimes he doesn't even he can't even walk down the stairs to take his medication, so he misses his medication.
Speaker 1:So it was just like is that, is that the? Is that what you? Is that what?
Speaker 2:you want. That's the life you want to live. He hasn't opted out to actually get better yeah.
Speaker 1:I'm talking about y'all. Is that the life you want to live, when you're just freaking popping pills? You don't want that, man, and we're offering a different weight. If you've tried one way so long and it's not working, what is wrong with just trying another way? And if our way doesn't work, then you can go back to your way. But what we're saying is just try our way. It's even worse for you and we can't promise that it will work for you. But what we can promise is that we're going to do everything that we can to get you healthy. We can make that promise, yeah, but uh, let me do one more and then you can talk about whatever you want to this guy. Ray Ray came to me and he's like you know, I just want to try your services for two weeks, and in reality, most of the time I would not do that Because it's literally. I'm not going to say it's pointless, but it's pointless Because two weeks, we don't do that anymore. Yeah, in two weeks you can't get anything done.
Speaker 1:Okay, there's, there's nothing that you can get done in two weeks, because the first week is just gonna be getting you acclimated to the new thing we just need to see, like, where you're even eating yeah, that takes up the whole week.
Speaker 1:So I was like, okay, let's, let's, let's get you in here trying, because you know he really he really wanted some. So we got in there for two weeks and he's spazzing. He's an entrepreneur, so he's high strung A-type. He doesn't get a lot of help in his own business world. He does everything for himself and the one place he goes is to the gym and that's his time to meditate and whatever. I said listen, you're too stressed. So we got to cut the gym. Okay, he didn't like that. I said you need to. You need to calm down and relax and just chill out, because, being so stressed out, you're not going to be able to make progress. Okay, whatever.
Speaker 1:So the two weeks pass, he's like. He's like thank you for the service, but I'm not going to continue. I gave him what he should do next off of my recommendation and whatever. So about man? How long was it? I want to say almost a year went by and I got an Instagram notification that was tagged in the post. Obviously, I wouldn't look at it and it was right. And Ray said I want to thank At Leo's Fitness Adventure for helping me get on the right path for my fitness journey and thanks to him, I was able to lose. I can't remember how many pounds I lost, but he was able to lose weight because of the influence I had on him and the I, the recommendations I gave him afterwards. So it's just, you never know. It's like two weeks Okay, but it wasn't.
Speaker 1:It helped them out. So you just never know what you can do until you attempt to do it. And that's the whole point of this podcast is that all these people are in the same spot that you guys were one time in their life on the sidelines just watching, not knowing who to go to for help and not wanting to make any investment because they don't know if it's going to be the right one. If you have choice paralysis, then you're always going to be frozen in place. And if all you have to do is exchange money for health, that's a no-brainer, bro. That's a no-brainer.
Speaker 2:So you got anything, you would add no, I think we've covered it all okay you guys like my gangar, I finally found one if you're watching this oh yeah, limited edition, you'll see
Speaker 1:them on the reels, because I'll be making a reel, but yeah, so hopefully you guys uh enjoyed this episode and to see the importance of I know it's cliche, but stepping outside of your comfort zone, because these are real people who made a decision that benefited their life and now they're better off for it in the long run.
