Show Notes

Self-loathing is a topic many people don't like to talk about, but we have to acknowledge this so we can move past it so we can get to our goals.
So what's really going on...
At times we can feel bad about ourselves, and that's normal. It's normal because our brains are wired to point out the negative. After all, that is how it keeps us safe. But unfortunately, this leaves us with a negative feeling that does not feel good.
A negative thought happening here and there might not affect us much, but when we find ourselves consistently with negative thoughts that, for the most part, are very self-critical, that indicates self-loathing.
So self-loathing or self-hate goes on because of how we think about how our body looks, how we see ourselves in social situations or how we handle things going on at work... all these are our thoughts/opinions.
When we get into that self-loathing cycle, we put ourselves down because of our opinions of ourselves, which in turn creates how we feel. So if you think you are not good enough or something is wrong with you, and you feel shame, disappointment, and hopelessness, this will determine the actions you take or don't take.
And the actions you take from the place of negative thoughts and feelings will never get you to your goal... you ultimately give in and give up.
The good news is that those thoughts you have are optional. You don't have to think anything is wrong with you; you can think something better instead.
